(50 miles South of Yorkton ) saw a ball bouncing around kind of strangely in the lake and went to investigate. It turned out to be a flathead catfish who Had obviously tried to swallow a basketball which became stuck in its mouth!! The fish was totally exhausted from trying to dive, but unable to because the ball would always bring him back up to the surface. The guy tried numerous times to get the ball out, but was unsuccessful. He finally had his wife cut the ball in order to deflate it and release the hungry catfish. You probably wouldn't have believed this, if you hadn't seen the following pictures... Be kinder than necessary. 'Cause everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  5. I left early this Morning 2C burr I rode a 200 kms(1 way) venture To Provindence bay , Manitoulin Island for some Salmon Fishing Put my neoprene waders and boots and walked to chest height water, Had a ball all was catch and release 3 nice Chinook between 5 - 12 lbs salmons :crying:Sorry I didnt have a waterproof camera enough witnesses though A few photos The scoot ,, Rare Whooping Cranes and Fisherman in the bay
  6. I know with all the knowledge here that someone can explain this for me. I have a utility trailer I want to modify to pull with my scoot and wanted to know if a swivel hitch is necessary or can I pull with just the standard hitch and ball. It seems that with the trailer on the ball there is enough side to side movement that a swivel is unnecessary but the idea seems right. Any takers? Wayne
  7. has anyone seen or used this hitch before. It look like it might work. http://i4.ebayimg.com/07/i/001/0b/55/fa3d_1.JPG http://pics.ebaystatic.com/aw/pics/s.gif http://pics.ebaystatic.com/aw/pics/s.gifhttp://i4.ebayimg.com/07/i/001/0b/55/fa3d_0.JPGhttp://i1.ebayimg.com/01/i/000/de/c3/9982_0.JPGhttp://i24.ebayimg.com/04/i/001/0b/55/fc34_0.JPGhttp://i2.ebayimg.com/04/i/001/0b/55/fe1d_0.JPGhttp://i16.ebayimg.com/01/i/001/0b/56/0026_0.JPGhttp://i4.ebayimg.com/02/i/001/0b/56/025b_0.JPG Introducing the new "Lean- Machine" swivel ball hitch for your motorcycle trailer.Brand new never seen before swivel ball hitch. Ball size is 1 7/8. Mount this ball directly on your hitch to allow the same feature you would get from the swivel coupler at a third of the price. The design allows you to use it on more than 1 trailer or let a friend borrow it. The swivel coupler you cannot remove from your trailer. The ball pivots left to right. The unit mounts just like a standard trailer ball. The same way a standard trailer ball does not spin around when you tighten it down, the same with the swivel ball hitch when you tighten the bolt the unit will not spin around. The term swivel may be misleading. I guess the better word would be pivot. The ball is the only part that pivots left to right. The ball does not swivel around, only pivots left to right. I get asked what keeps the ball from flipping left to right while in use in tow. The trailer controls the ball from involuntarily movement. The only way the ball would flop to the right is if your trailer went up on one wheel to the right. Which is almost impossible. The ball is neutral in tow. When your making a right turn, the ball actually does not tilt, your bike does. The ball remains upright at all times, but it allows your bike to lean to the left or right making it alot easier going into turns. George C
  8. I am looking for the Ball Milled Water Pump Cover STR-4NK27-41-02 for my 07 RSTD. I can't seem to find one at any online dealer. Dear Mama Yama isn't making them now. If you have one you would be willing to sell or have seen one at a dealer please let me know. Thanks...
  9. My drain cock assembly was leaking. I took the plug out and found that the O-ring was missing. I figured that was the problem. I ordered a O-ring from the local Yamaha dealership and I picked it up today. I got all off the pieces together and found that I am missing that little tiny ball that sits on top of the spring. Are there places that might have them? If so, what size is that little ball? Any help with this matter would be greatly appreciated. Todd
  10. Wins 2 Losses 0 Offense and defense started sluggish, but developed a rhythm quickly into the first quarter. They got one safety on us, because they punted the ball to the 2 yard line, Jamar (QB) tried to get the ball out of the end zone, but didn't have enough time. We kept putting the points on the board though. The Maulers talk a lot of trash despite losing their first game 70-6, and losing to us 59-2. Final Score - Bruisers 59 Maulers 2 My mother and stepfather rode their Harley's out from Michigan to watch the game and hang out. We had a good time riding up and down the Mississippi shoreline. My venture didn't get too many miles though. All of our babysitters were out of town. It wasn't a total bust, we got a 91 Sunbird Convertible, and got to cruise along with my parents with the top down. 11. I contacted Russel Hicks and he does not have any ball studs, plus he is real busy at work right now so he isn't planning on ordering any. If anybody else needs a couple, let me know and I can order some extras. Or if somebody else is planning on ordering them from McMaster-Carr, let me know and I can have you add mine to the order. My E-mail is ka9j2003@yahoo.com Frank D.
  12. I just finished installing my Baron Tach on my 03 but I went a different route. After trying a minifaced tach, I wasn't too pleased with the looks plus it was so small, I had a hard time seeing it. This one was meant to install on a 1 in. handlebar but it also didn't fit right on the RSV because of limited space so I bought a Ram Mount # RAM-B-346CU which has a 1 in. ball to attach different accessories. I have all kinds of up, down, right and left adjustment. The face can be programmed with different colors and the green matches the speedo color pretty close. Check out the pix and let me know what you think. Brian

  16. Can I grease the ball? Do I need to keep it clean to provide a grounding source for the trailer or does the 4-way flat do that?
  17. I stopped by I-90 Yamaha in Issaquah, Wa. this afternoon. Offered me a left over 2006 RSTD, for $12,000, plus $495 Set up and sales tax. Black !! I just happened to see it there on my way to the parts counter, and stopped to eye ball it, and guess what? the Salesman showed up, with that quick offer. Hmmm ??
  18. OK, here's what happened. Attached my trailer to the Venture last Sat. Checked everything to make sure i was working, hitch locked, etc. Going down I-70 in downtown Columbus Ohio I hear a big bang. My wife looks back and we're dragging the trailer. I slow down very carefully and pull off. Guess what I found. The ball was in the hitch but was broken off the drawbar. Who ever heard of that happening? I'm sure it was defective somehow. My trailer was empty at the time and I was only going 60 mph at the time. Now what to do? Don't have parts with me and no extra ball. Hate the thought of leaving the trailer alongside the road for any length of time knowing it may get thrown in the back of a pickup while I'm off getting a new ball. Luckily we were at an overpass. I saw a drain hole and lo and behold there's a rebar running through the whole. I was able to cable the trailer to the rebar to at least feel like I had done something to secure it, and we were only a 1/4 mile from the next exit. Two blocks down was a U-Haul dealer where I bought a new ball. Within 1/2 hour I was back hitching the trailer back up to the bike and running down the road. Moral of story? I'm not sure you could ever know the ball shaft would be snapping clear off. But thankfully I had bought new safety chains and they kept the trailer with the bike. That's good since there was a car only about a car length behind me when the thing let lose. I wouldn't have been able to cope with it if my trailer came lose and someone else got hurt. So please make sure you ALWAYS have safety chains. I know several people who don't want to mess with them. the only damage is a couple spots on front of the trailer that must have hit the road soemhow. That's much better than personal injury. I was going to get the bottom half of the trailer painted sometime anyway. Now it'll just take a little body work. Guys, be careful out there. God is good!
  19. This is what is going on this weekend in Cincinnati. I believe over 20,000 motorcyclists are expected to be at the memorial service at the Great American Ball Park and processional for Matt Maupin. Here are the details. http://news.enquirer.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080426/NEWS01/304260028
