  1. dan, nothing wrong with caging it to the meets. we need you as a part of our family. so far i have been blessed with good fortune , but the bottom could drop out at anytime. i once looked forward to getting on line with the group. now i kind of have aprehension. maybe we should come up with a way of helping our fellow members through rough times. anyone got any ideas. i'm game. bill :clap2:
  2. if i remember right IN GOD WE TRUST was put on money when ike had the watch. i have no problem with athiests, thats there right to believe in what they want, just as i have my right. it's been on the money for a long time so who cares. it is'nt going to effect anyones life no matter what we believe so get a bike and enjoy life while you have it. nuff said here. bill
  3. i would run a plug but a patch is much better. a plug may start leaking. if the tire has alot of miles i would replace it. i used to patch alot of tires when tubes were in and had no problem. bill
  4. i'm still planning on it, going to try to connect with road kill, wild hair, and maybe allanh. since none of this bunch is educated enough to work on a wing. how about a wash and wax job. boy am i in hot water now. :rotf: ps just had to unload some built up winter snarley. nance, you can collect the money for me letting them wash my wing, and we will split it.
  5. buddy, sorry to here about you and your dad, wish you could keep your wing. your health is more important than a bike. that burning the candle at both ends will catch up with you. i did it when i was younger and am paying for it now. spend more time with peg and your family. you still have that nice looking first gen to ride. may be you and peg can make it to my st. charles meet in may and relax a couple of days. bill
  6. hey dan, i'm so sorry to here this bad news. like cindy said this is getting scary. glad you had a quick sale . do you still have your strat? i hope you find a job soon buddy. i'm worried about you and all the people on here. bill

  14. this is not an update on the rally, but i just wanted to relate to alot of the new members what it's all about. it is the main event every year for the venture riders. this year it will be at the hub motorcycle resort in ar., 9 miles south of harrison ar. all members are invited and it is your chance to really get involved and meet lots of fine people and make many new friends. it will be a chance to let your hair down and relax and get away from all your problems for a couple of days. we are going to have rides , vendors, activities for the kids, lots of food, games, sight seeing in some of the best touring areas in the usa, bar none. and more things we haven't thought of yet. if any one has any questions ,you can pm me, and check out all the info under rides and rallies. bill
  15. buddy, has updated the acommodation list for the 09 rally at the hub in ar.. any one who wants to make reservations for lodging. go to rides and rallies and check it out. if you have any questions pm buddy and he can help you out. he is on my committee and incharge of the accomodations for the rally.
  16. not trying to pressure anyone, just throwing out a reminder every so often and will include an update. i'm sure there will people that were planning on it, but do to the economy won't be able to make it. i hope not. i wish everyone the best of luck in these hard times. and fully understand what folks are going through. i have been blessed so far. but it could hit home before it is all over. bill
  17. like stardbog said several great meets. i would time your visit with one of them. not only will you meet some great people, but you will have the best of tour guides. bill
  18. hey buddy, take care of yourself and listen to peg. if you abuse that body at your age you will pay big time at my age. take it from me. it's getting harder to answer the bell everyday. slow down. glad your back with us, my friend. bill
  19. thank you larry for the great, and thoughtful plug. bill
  20. i am a real sucker for going out of my way to buy shell gas. they claim they use 5 times as much detergent as discount fuel and it will keep deposites from building up on the back of your intake valves, a real power robber. they also claim that their premium will actually clean the residue off the valves that is already deposited there. i can't believe me ,snarley bill, actually actually falls for this. i will run on fumes to get to a shell station. could it be old age or is it a .
  21. just, want to remind people to get your registration in as soon as you can for the 09 rally. it will be most helpful so we can get a count on the folks attending, and ordering tshirts, patches, and the name buttons that cindy is making. as far as an up date no major happenings. the committee will be getting together soon to finish up the planning. glad we got an early start. lots of neat things going on. i think we got the worst part of the planning behind us. looking forward to the riding season and you all be careful we want to see you at the hub. snarley bill
  22. could you give me a location on the home depot? i think this needs to be investigated.
  23. as far as i know nitrogen is a non flamable inert gas. to put it in a liquid state requires a very low temperature like way, way below zero. i can't see how they could mix it with pump gas and how it would have any effect accept to cool combustion and slow down the burning rate. still it would have to some how be mixed with the fuel. the atmosphere has alot of nitrogen gas in it.
  24. hey lewis, i think your getting what we were supposed to get sat. i'll send you a bucket of this sunshine. bill
