well the time has come that i have had to make the big discision, to sell all my bikes. i have a v-star 1300, 1800 gold wing, yamaha majesty scooter, and a zx-1400 kawasaki to sell. just turned 66 and it's time i face the fact that i'm not as young as i thought i was. so i have decided when i turn 75 i will have to part with them. horrors. so i am getting a list together of people who will be interested. now this is what you do when you come down with cabin fever. snarley bill

you ,hit the nail on the head. if a new model is coming soon there is usually alot of buzz well in advance in the magazines. haven't seen a thing on the venture yet. i think they are using the v-max as a test bed for reliability. i figure 2011 at the earliest on the 3rd gen. if yammer is still in the bike business then. the economy is going to affect alot of corporate decisions on future plans.

hey lutz, congradulation. don't keep us in suspense. give us all the details. bill :clap2:

you are right on. the thing is there are alot of real harley riders out there like rick, and then there are the wannabe's which i call weekend warriors. that have to get the tattoo's , uniform ,and the whole nine yards. but ya know what, they are doing their thing just like us. if thats what makes them happy then so be it. who am i to judge what people should do for fun. bike bashing will go on forever. and it don't bother me a bit. when i pull into the biker bar on my zx-14. the wanna be's on all brands look down there nose at me like i'm a snot nosed kid on my first bike. then when i take my helmet off they see this 66 year old fart and really think i'm a newby. then i think you got a problem sonny. bring it on. i don't let it bother me. it's kind of fun in a way. bill

hey rick, your to soft skinned. don't let us get to you. you think harley gets bashed, can you say crotch rocket. nobody cuts me slack when i talk about my crotch rockets. i don't care cuz i just jump in the middle of their crap and then i get it off my chest and we are good friends again. we are all friends no matter what we ride. if someone gets to you, throw it right back. thats what i do. thats why i'm snarley bill. bill

harley getting through this is the least of our worries. the housing industry, auto industry, banking industry, and many other big businesses most likely will not get through this. so far i have all my apples in the right cart. i was talking with my banker the other day at one of the most stable banks in this country bank of america. things are starting to concern them. i personally can't see a financial recovery. this country is in to deep doo doo borrowing money from other countries like china. i would like to see a financial recovery, but dreaming ain't going to make it happen. the great depression was a mere pittance compared to where the country is now. we did'nt owe the rest of the world back then, our debt and problems were mostly internal and life and business were much simpler. we are in deep s%&t. and i don't see anyone being able to dig us out. dreams just ain't going to work this time. the snow ball rolling down the hill is getting bigger every minute.

crazy peaple on the road today........

people need to slow down, not only on the road but in every day life. they are so over booked anymore they don't even have time for family life and spending time with their kids. be careful out there these people have a hard time seeing you with a big mac stuck in there face, or when they are dialing the phone. now we have to cope with texting what ever that is. next there will be a computer keyboard built in to the steering wheel. what has happened to the human race. or is that rat race. really a sad situation. -
hey wrongway, i forgot to ask you yesterday if you would like to join our committee to help coordinate rides with colesgrandpa at the 09 rally. we will need a tail gunner on some of the rides too. let me know. had a great time at "BASS PRO" as soon as the weather breaks we will have to get together with you and dee and ride on the weekend somewhere. bill

where you been, those crazies are out there 24-7, 365 days a year. it's called the fast lane, or trying to pack two life times in one. still glad i'm as old as i am. guess i just ain't cut out to be in the fast lane. i like to smell the roses. snarley bill -
like i said awhile back look for an all new aluminum frame with the engine as a stressed member like the v-max, and gold wing. they will never put the new max engine in an archaic 2nd gen frame. it's not designed for it and there is to much flex for the handling they will be looking for. steel frames are becoming a thing of the past with the new vacuum casting technic they have. times change fast. it's all about keeping up with the competition. it will be an all new bike from the ground up. a little bird told me. take my word for it. i also predict farther off than planned because of the economy. there are strong rumors of a 2000cc, six speed wing in 2010, new from the ground up. they are building a new plant in japan for it. bill

if the bearings are not bad don't replace them. they are worn in to match the crankshaft bearing surface. you may create future bearing problems if you replace them with out replacing the crank. becides fitting them and the cost of the bearings is'nt cheap. fitting these bearings is a job for someone who knows how to do it. i would'nt trust a dealer. i have done it. it is a very precise job. the factory does the best job. don't mess with the bearings. bill

my brother inlaw had a heat pump and the one thing i noticed was we froze our butts off when it kicked on. it only put out luke warm air to maintain the temperature and created a mild draft that felt like a fan was running. no hot air like a forced air furnace. i'm used to kick butt heat when i want it. nothing wrong with electric for clean safe heat mostly with the price of propane on the rise. bill
