  8. starting to get to work on my annual st. charles meet may 7th, 8th, and 9th, 2oo9. i have added an extra day this year to make it worth the ride for people who have to come a long way. i have 2 great rides planned for each day with a big barbeque at my house the last day after the ride. lots of historic sights to see, on both rides. we have casino's near the host motel for those who like to play the slots, and harrahs is near by. as soon as i get the host motel info i will fill in the details. hope to see the old faces and a bunch of new ones this year. see you there. bill :clap2:

  15. thanks, you just flashed the great memories of my childhood before my eyes. what a great era we got to live in. i remember the ice cream man on his three wheeled cushman with the box on the front and he would give you a peice of dry ice to put in a glass of water. or getting a wad of hot tar off the street and chewing it. to think i made it to 66 years old.

  18. looks like we got a meet and eat in the works. can't wait to see some venture riders. any one who has never been to lammerts or pro bass, is in for a real treat. not to mention there will be some great commaraderie. bill
  19. any more burnouts on bikes are a thing of the past. on the crotch rockets the trick is to feather the clutch, and keep the front wheel as close to the ground as possible. in the old days burnouts were easy. these new tires are alot stickier and it's hard to break the tire loose with out an extended swing arm. some of the bikes at the maxton mile can,t hit the nitros till they get over 150 mph cuz of wheel spin. now that would tighten a guy up. :cool10:
  20. never did understand that. i kind of like to be moving forward when the tire smokes. like for a quarter mile.
  21. sure am glad you and your wife are okay and at home. bill
  22. thats the nice thing about my wing. you put it on the center stand, remove the rear fender panel and five lug nuts and roll the tire out the back. love that single sided swingarm.
  23. i'm going to post in a couple of weeks to see who's coming. sure hope you and phil can make it. happy new year. bill
  24. been wondering that myself. i pm'd him a while back and never got a responce. buddy i know your out there give us a holler.
  25. only reason i changed the bars was i got a good buy on some new rstd bars and i could'nt reach the stock bars with the corbin backrest. still can barely reach them. got to modify the back rest it's back like a recliner. you would think corbin would know how to fit a back rest by now. i got some stock bars you can have if you need them. bill
