  1. Are you tired of those sissy 'friendship' poems that always sound good, but never actually come close to reality? Well, here is a series of promises that actually speak of true friendship. You will see no cute little smiley faces on this ~Just the stone cold truth of a great friendship. When you are sad ~ I will help you get drunk and plot revenge against the sorry bastard who made you sad. When you are blue ~ I will try to dislodge whatever is choking you. When you smile ~ I will know you are thinking of something that I would probably want to be involved in. When you are scared ~ I will rag on you about it every chance I get until you're NOT. When you are worried ~ I will tell you horrible stories about how much worse it could be until you quit whining. When you are confused ~ I will try to use only little words. When you are sick ~ Stay the hell away from me until you are well again. I don't want whatever you have. When you fall ~ I will laugh at your clumsy ass, but I'll help you up. This is my oath .... I pledge it to the end. 'Why?' you may ask ~ because you are my friend. Friendship is like peeing your pants, everyone can see it, but only you can feel the true warmth. Send this to 10 of your closest friends (including the one who sent it to you). Then get depressed because you can only think of 4.
  2. Merry Christmas from the B2 family... B2dad and I want to wish each and every one of you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We hope Santa is good to you this year and wish there was a new Venture in everyone's stocking..or under your tree...wherever it fits. LOL! But mostly thank you for sharing your thoughts, prayers, problems, solutions and stories with us this past year. We have enjoyed the meets and get togethers all over this great country of ours and the friendship that has come with it. This is truly a wonderful family and we are so glad you have let us be a part of it this year. Here's hoping to a better 2011 for all of you and hope to meet you down the road for some more great food and friendship. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Don and Patti

    Resignation

I decided last week to resign from the US Military Vets MC, and did just that this morning. It was the hardest thing I've done in the last 10 years. I have been with the club for 7 years, and for 4 of those years as an officer. I had the comfort of knowing that there are those in the world who enjoy motorcycles, and the friendship that goes with spending time with others with similar goals and interests. I think I've done the right thing for me, and will be able to devote my riding time to just me and my beloved wife Looie.
  4. "Uncle Don", my mother's brother passed this morning, he was 74. He was the patriarch of my family on my mother's side of the family. He had triple bypass surgery 7 weeks ago and contracted "Mersa" (an infection in his leg where they removed the vein for the bypass). I spent time with him last night, we talked of riding motorcycles, our friendship, my mom and the good times we had together. I wanted to thank him for the many years of friendship, and how thru his wisdom and guidance he made my life better and helped me to be a better man. But before I could utter a word about all that he squeezed my hand and thanked me for "Being there for him". Both of my parents have passed long ago, but I never really missed them as much because there was always "Uncle Don" to tell me what my mom might have said about a given situation or to tell me a story about my mom and dad doing one thing or another. Now, All I have left are the memories, great ones to be sure, But I will miss "that old man" as I called him, and we would both laugh! I am glad he is now pain free and surely he must be riding the big highway in heaven. The picture below is 5 generations of my family on my mother's side taken Thanksgiving Day 2008. I'll miss you "Old Man". Earl and Jean
