That IS cool. But from a technical aspect (from one who spends a lot of time in his workshop doing OTHER things) it will be far easier to drill that 5/8" hole from the INSIDE of the reflector than it will be from the outside. Your drill bit will centre itself far easier in a depression than it will on an outer curved surface. And you'll be more accurate centering it on the bulb. (But you already figured that!)

You're right you know. WE hit an all-time record for January as well. The average temp here was 38degC. Got up to 43 on some days. I don't think we got below 21 all month.

I'll swap ya. We got right down to 76 last night (yep, that's degrees Fahrenheit) and today we're expecting 105. Ya sleep in ya undies, on top of the bed, windows open, ceiling fan slowly rotating and look forward to another day of it . . . Hot, HOT - H O T ! (and BTW - it's NOT riding weather!)

Tom and Taters. What can I say? Been there - done that in the past 12 months. Two dogs (12 and 17) and a cat (21 - pushing 22). All part of my life and all gone. I feel for ya buddy.

Patience you guys and gals. Annie is on her way home today. She sent me a quick text message around 10pm my time last night (7pm her time) to say she would be home soon. By my calculation she would be pretty close by now, so we'll wait and see if her PC digit is still functioning.

I haven't worried Annie in the past day or so. I know she'll be home very soon - possibly tomorrow - so I'll let sleeping dogs lie until she has a chance to come up on site and let us know how she's doing.

Update - hot off the press. Annie went into surgery around 12 noon her time yesterday. Was out by 5pm and in post-op recovery. I tried to ring her then, but when she didn't answer I knew she was "comatose.' I rang Al who confirmed she was 'out of it' so I left it until now to ring her again. And the good news is - she's fine. She has 4 metal rings and a bolt on the lower part of her leg. She tried to tell me what the apparatus was called and the best she could come up with was "an Iliya Zaroff" thingy. I tried to Goooooooooooogle combinations of that but found nothing relevant. The bad news is - she is off the road as a driver or rider. No cars and no bikes. And boy is she not happy about that! After all those years off the road, finally getting back on and now this. Annie asked me to again thank everybody for their kind wishes and prayers. She said she should be home by mid next week. I'm sure she'll then get back on the site and catch up with y'all. So there you have it.

Annie has surgery tomorrow (Thursday Aussie day time). She is having, "a metal frame of 3 rings and wires on my leg." (Ouch!)
