  1. I got more than 1700 miles out of mine. Took about 10,000 miles before they got chunky on me. They were a nice handling and riding tire while they lasted.
  2. Has anyone straightened out the toe end of the shifter, bringing it closer to the motor. With my feet out on my new pegs, my foot hits the shifter. If it was bent in it would eliminate the problem. But I am worried about it being clumsy to shift if it is moved in too much. Any thoughts?
  3. I test rode a Vision today, only seven miles so I didn't get a great feel for the bike. Loved the balance, handling and suspension. Was not overly impressed with the power, gearbox and mirror placement. Overall felt kind of "tinny". Passenger did not like the vibration she felt on her floor boards, and she felt cramped. I will be keeping the RSV a while longer I guess. RSV just feels a lot more solid than the Vision. Now I would like to get that Vision out on a stretch of twisties and wind it out.
  4. There is a Test Ride Event on Sunday March 16th, starts at 10:00AM. Address is 6051 North Washington Blvd (301) in Sarasota, its just a bit South of University. They have pretty much all of their line there. Just sign a waiver, bring a helemt and show your motorcycle endorsement. You then pick the model you want to ride and go. They take you on a 7 mile loop, never got up to highway cruising speed though. I went on 4 rides in a row today, as long as a bike is available they will let you ride.
  5. How long is your bed?
  6. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Yamaha-Royal-Star-Venture-LED-Brake-Running-Light-Bar_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ35598QQihZ014QQitemZ330217959911QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW Has anybody installed one of these? I sent a message to them for info, they were kind of evasive. They said they could not give up all the secrets on this device, but assured me I would love it. Bolt on application? Bolts to what? Any feedback from fellow members would be appreciated. Thanks Ross
  7. Dang!! Polaris wouldn't give him another Victory bike to ride. Made the poor fellow ride a Harley?
  8. http://www.nascar.com/2008/news/features/02/28/kpetty.bike.ride.kschrader/index.html Just read this article about Kyle Petty (Harley Classic) and Ken Schrader (Suzuki Boulevard) riding their bikes from Daytona to the next Cup race at Fontana, CA. Kyle says hes riding a Harley now after riding a Victory for the last couple years. There is a picture in the article of him riding a Vision, must be an old picture. Anyone know why hes not riding a Victory any longer?
  9. We have the tallest Clearview and my passenger really likes it. She says the wind plants her head rather than hitting her in the face and forehead.
  10. If the shock is bad: If under warranty, see if it can be replaced under warranty. If warranty is not an option, invest around $600.00 and buy a Works Performance Shock. Our riding weights are about the same, and this shock is great and no more air to worry about.
  11. You guys are making me want to go back. Rode it last May. Beautiful, Quiet, Nice road. Did not like the end of the ride coming onto Robbinsville at dusk though, that piece of road sucks.
  12. Bleed the system while pushing in on the clutch rod. I needed a helper to do this. Bleed until you get a bubble or two out of it. I think i had to run 4 or 5 resovoirs. All's good now.
  13. Install was fairly easy. Kind of a hassle to get at the one line grommet/bracket on the underside of the bike under all the AIS junk. I ended up removing all the AIS stuff and plugging the ports and that made it much easier to get to that grommet/bracket. With Rick's instructions and the slick job he does on these valves, I highly reccomend it. I drove the bike a little with valve at 2 turns out and seems to help. I will need to leather up and really go out and tromp on the brake at speed a couple of times and see if I need to change the setting. Thanks again Rick. Ross Sorenson
  14. Rick made one up for me last week. This weekends project is the brake valve. I am a novice mechanic at best. I will leave a post on how the installation went for me. Rick, Sorry to hear about your friend. Thanks for getting the parts to me so fast. Ross
  15. Louisville is a beautiful city.
  16. I downloaded and installed the image resizer and all i get is Read Me file. What the heck?
  17. Does anybody make a thinner speaker/earpiece? I have the econo J & M's and they are to thick for my helmet/ear. It would be ideal if I could just swap out the speakers. Any way to do this? Thanks, Ross

    j&m

While we are on the subject of headsets... Does anyone know of a headset with thinner speakers? I have the Econo J & M and I am happy with the sound, however after a couple of hours our ears start to hurt. Thanks, Ross
  19. We wave at everybody, but not everyone waves back. When I ride with my GoldWing riding brother, I am very surprised at how many people wave at me on the RSV but not at the GoldWing. I guess the Harley guys can tell a GoldWing from a ways away, but lots of them probably can't tell the RSV from a Harley. I am OK that people mistake it for a Harley, but boy am I glad its not a Harley.
  20. I am very confident that they will hold up better than the original lousy finish on the Bub tips. I will let all know how they hold up.
  21. Does anyone have any idea what the hottest temperature the outside of the pipes get on an RSV? Thanks!
  22. Yeah, we are both right here in Floirda. As long as the metal is heavy enough to be baked at 400 degrees. He can do pretty much any design or pattern you want.
