sorry freebird cant make it would like to but cant too far would be nice if mayb some one down here would hold a small one i could go to maybe they have i didnt go back on the calander just forward oh well maybe next time. ok went backwards on the calander and found kregs maint day earlier in the yr that would work and maybe a few hrs closer to me but that one has already past just my luck everybody who is going to OH yall have lots of fun and a safe tripp along the way

i would like to be there but everything for the next 4 months is to short of a notice as im the only one in my office certified to do what i do so untill i get 1 guy from each of my crews to handel emergency calls (i got to train them first) im stuck on call 24/7 for next 4 months

well my rstd the one time i did hear it run was loud and i think it has factory pipes i like it loud. loud enough to hear but not loud enough to make me annoyed at my own bike when i do get it running and fine tuned i will run it to see. if its too loud i will change the pipes to a quietier set. i like loud pipes on racing bikes,trucks, and cars not infront of me on a long day ride

ok which one does tach? thats what i want considering my rstd does not have a tach i may not be experienced with the rstd or any other bike for that mater but i can do basice stuff and can chase down problems and do quick fixes in a pinch. the top or bottom one or can both do it or just the one with the pick up

the only straight roads i found in TX is I 10,20,35, and 40 all the other back roads have some nice curves and seanery on it

high beams on bikes are cool i dont mind a bike hitting his high beams at me when im in the 4 wheeler cause he dont know im looking out for him too unlike other idots on the road

havent found a wire strong enough for that but i was thinking about flushing a stong dose of sea foam thru it before i order the float pins thinking maybe that will help i wish i would have taken pics of the carbs when the were disasembled on the bench the bike had setup for 3 1/2 yrs with gas in it the gas evaperated over that time or leaked out not sure but when i seen the bottom of the bowls it looked like some one put that alabama red clay in it and the tank dont know what caused it my thinking the ethenol not sure any way all 4 carbs had it and that stuff eat up one of the bowl covers so that was replaced im rambeling on too much just thought id give yall an idea of what i did run into at the start of this project

hey joboo i checked on yamahapartshouse my total for the float needles is 34.53 thats with shipping old parts barn is 42.00 with shipping for a 5 pk is there a diference between the 2 in what they offer i want the cheapest deal but the best parts rapping on the diaphram did not help going by my friend who rebuilt these carbs he said he thought he might have a problem with one of the floats not working right i did witness all 4 carbs disassembled on his work bench and he did put the float in water overnight thinking it may have a pin hole in it (this part i did not witness) but it popped up out of the water when he took the weight off of it i dont know what to think a shop quoted me 400.00 to fix and i cant afford it now so im going to do it myself good thing is i am mechanicaly inclined and can work on some things so if i screw this up i will then take it to the shop i just hope i dont screw it up

ok i could not find my other post untill today had to clean all the cobwebs out of my laptop and viruses now im finding several post that i did and they all basicaly say the same thing sorry about that will try to keep everything at a minimum -

any way to do that coming from the filter put a filter relocate bracet on and run hoses to a oil cooler from the filter then back to motor maybe just a thought -

yes the fuel pump works it runs for about 5 seconds then i start to crank it and it kicks on dumping fuel out of the over flow hose on the left side im hopen i can get this running without having to take it to the shop i realy cant aford it right now it might be another month before i get to ride i will be getting new plugs i hope that might be the problem i cant tell if those have ever been changed -

To start i have changed the oil and filter on my 99 RSTD put everything back together (was a partial basket case) replaced slave cylinder soaked clutch disc carbs were rebuilt by previous owner(friend) in which i did hear the motor run (which is 1 reason my wife bought it and it looks good) 7 months ago gas tank was off (ran on mason jar with gas) i dont know if fuel filter was changed and dont know where its located but i am getting gas to 2 carbs cause its leaking out of the overflow hose she turns over clutch pulled, in gear, stand up and in nutral but will not run any ideas i taped the bowls of the carbs on left side fuel still pours out od/check, eng light comes on when key is turned on then goes out when i hit starter both oil and temp light comes on and flickers while cranking i get spark to plug the one plug i did check. bike has 21452 mi on it so i know it did a lot of sitting and rotting away my friend started working on it in aug. 2011 as a aniversary gift from my wife in oct 2011 i just got it 3 weeks ago any help would be apriciative

I have gas leaking from both over flow hoses on my carbs any suggestions or ideas all 4 carbs were rebuilt and synced and did not have this problem before I started putting everything back together:confused24:
