  5. but the water vapor athough not much when heated creates steam when getting close to a boiling point or hot air which expands that can make all the difference when the tire is weak and blows out as for spending money on it i dont as its a fringe benifet of work but you can go to lowes and get those little nitrogen tanks they have and fill your tires or go toa welding supply house get a tank for 30.00 and a regulator for 120.00 a hose and quick connects about 10.00 just depends on how many tire you have to fill as to weather its worth it for me it is as i have collected everything i need over the last 7 yrs. and have only gone through 3 sets of tires on my suburban at 255,000 mi. 1 factory set on an 08 colbalt 157,000 mi. 2 sets on a 97 GMC 197,000 mi. before rewcked by employee 4 sets on E150 van 318,000 mi motor gave out and just put a new set on it and last but not least 2011 ford fusion factory set 95,000 mi. and still have a little less then half tread on it every vehicle will be different on tread wear as to driving habits and road conditions
  6. KIC in laymens term you got it right
  7. nitrogen does not contract or expand under cold or heat conditions like compressed air nitrogen is compressed air that has been run through a dryer several times to take out all of the moisture moisture in compressed air is what expands and contracts under hot and cold conditions i have to use nitrogen in fire extinguishers when recharging them as nitrogen is not flamable and does not contract or expand under extreem conditions also for car and truck tires you get better wear and tread life out of a tire i do advocate checking your tire pressure on a regular schedule as on a bike you only have 2 peices of rubber touching the ground at any given time
  8. squidley is making up for lost time yea i think he was without internet for a while i could be wrong
  9. i did have major sadle sore after that and family to vouch for it
  10. im not part of IBA and have not boasted about a run i made 2187 miles in 21 hrs. it can be done i know i have done it and you need to think outside the box like what speed limit and 2187 was the mi. on the odom. done on a 90 honda shadow 1100
  11. million mile im not an expert on this or any other subject for that matter but i have seen this set up on 2 honda shadow 1800 and a yamaha rstd and 1 kaw. all riding together from ga. to san antoin they stopped for gas last aug. at a local station i struck a conversation with them about the radial tires and one had what looked like a car tire on the honda the conversation was short lived as it were but looked like it could be done
  12. got the tour tank saved to fav. i will be ordering #2 as well sometime next year after i get the bike up and running
  13. farm i had the same idea but was told a venture tank will not swap to the rstd because of the frame just what i been told
  14. jw18 dont give up hope yet i have been working on my bike since aug. of last year and this is my aniversary gift from my wife to me in oct. the mechanice that worked on it made it worse as i have the same problem you do and now i have no money to fix it just dont give up on it yet you can check with tazmocycle he is about 40 mi. from you he has offerd his help to me only i have had to decline his help as i dont have moneyto pay him just look at it this way you bought a problem that can be fixed and will give you plenty of enjoyment in the future i was given a gift problem that i paid for and have to pay to get it fixed what a gift
  15. i fill all my tires with nitrogen but i just got 4 new tires on the cage about 2 months ago and did not tell the tech to bring the tires to the back of my suburban so i could fill the tires with notrogen (i carry a nitrogen bottle in back for my job) i have not touched the bike yet as i need a new tire on it the back looks to have good tread depth but that will go to then i will fill with nitrogen and check with 3 guages you can never be to sure
  16. just my opinon i would have the swr checked first if you continue to use the cb and your swr is way off you can burn the finals out then you have no cb i dont know everthing about cb radios but in my younger years i did have a partner in a cb shop i was the bank and he was the tech i did learn a few things about radios from him and that was one i just wish i would have learned how to run a business better i might still be in business instead of blowing all the money and having nothing to show for it one of lifes valuble lessons
  17. as long as it works thats the main thing

  22. yea my bike does perspire when i sit on it maybe your right that is what i was told about heat index im not a meoroli im no weather man or doc i know some things and dont know others i say what im told if it sounds right and it sounded right because i had 6 or 7 people try to explain to 450 of us workers how the humidity works with the heat index i thought i was using the same and right princaple if im wrong then i am wrong sorry i should have done my homework first on that but for the additive in coolant i use it in some vehicles and not in others i do know hot humid air is still hot humid air when it blows i guess ignorance is no excusse and im full of it you are right redneck i had it completly wrong i thought it did not sound write when i was typing that post its been a bad day so far the blank has hit the fan and my mind aint workin right today i will bow out nd go home now
  23. :sign yeah that::sign yeah that:
  24. with all that above being said here in MS, AL, FL, and LA the heat index can play a role as the humidity goes up the heat index react the same it goes up making for the cooling system to work harder or take longer to cool down in which you can exceed your cooling capacity when sitting in trafic or on a slow run i have not run it in my bike yet as it is still down but i have run it in several vehicles which it has helped (when following directions). yes the thermostate works at a predetermind or set temp that it will open and close as it should but in the temps we have you sometimes do exced your cooling capacity and with an aditive in it, it help to cool it down some just pay close attention to the instruction and follow them to the letter if you do not it will be money wasted and will not help any cooling problems you may or may not have. just my 2cents and experience good luck if you decide to use it.
  25. E 10 is what screwed up my carbs i just wish i knew the PO 4yrs ago i would have got the bike then and would be ridding today but when i do get it running it will be my daily driver rain or shine and ive got 3 stations close that dont have E 10 fuel and several marinas close by
