    ok after an extensive search for a brokn wire i have not found one but if i push hard enough on the plu my compressor comes on so i have come to the conclusion that i have more than one bad soder joint and now i have to get a new sodering pencile (last one bit the dust 5 yrs ago) and do some surgery on the class but i noticed nothing lit up on the display of the class when i did ths (pushing the plug in hard ) what am i suppose to see on the display ?

    i will be checking that out i have a bike dealer couple blocks away that carries tires and another about 1 mi away that carries a few tires dont know what brandsbut i will check

    trader yours sounds like lose soder conections mine i think is a broke wire in the harness i pushed the plug into the board and get nothing i wiggle the wires and i get clicking its raining now so i will take the cage home tonight but will trace wires on the bike before i go

    thanks for the info i was thinking about the same thing although i was not sure about how wide i really could go on tire size before rubbing i know tires change in size when heated even with nitrogen in the tire but the change is minimal with nitrogen also i thought all tire mfg. made the same size to spec i didnot know that they vary by mfg.

    ok i was messing with the plug on the class last night and heard a clicking noise under the trunk or back in that area i kept playing with it and im guessing i have a broken wire in the harness or the class has something loose on the board past the plug maybe some broken sodder joints is there a way to bypass the class to get it to power up without it being hooked up and pluged in to the harness maybe get it to throw a code or several since its not hooked up

    i didnot know that now i feel so that just shows you i got a lot to learn about this bike realy i been turning it on and cranking it up then trying to wiggle the wire harness and plugs

    thanks bongobobny for the info didnot know how the date code worked ive been riding local all back roads 35 to 40 mph tire is also cupping so dont want that on there for to long thanks KIC if it is a right mirror let me know what you want for it

    i get nothing from my compressor the screen reads psi and thats it i have tried to wiggle the wires smake the cover nothing i will have to take it out and see what happens maybe its a lose wire i cant get to

    OK yesterday evening I had to ride the venture home left my suburban at the office no gas took it to work today and now I can't stop riding it its addictive ( been 20yrs since i last rode ) got my tag for it but I have a few problems that I need to fix the warning light stays on flashed twice on me last night no brake light from front lever front tire is dry rot not bad but still rotting carbs need sync it needs right mirror got to find the problem on the compressor control panel lose wire my guess is which one speakers are shot I will be doing a lot of reading in the tech library on these problems but may ask y'all for some help on things I may not comprehend oh and it needs a lot of tlc and I plan to give it thanks for all yall's help

    man Dingy i need a shop like yours lots of room nice clean and well lighted (with out the jar of vasaline of course:whistling:)seriously i live in a moble home trailer in a park and dream of having a shop

    its not an ego thing and i dont want a super wide tire im not running a hardly i just want a little more rubber on the road also i dont think the fender could hanle much more and no one would ever see it from the saddle bags and the mud flap i tried to down load a pic of it but it keeps sayin download failed i need to resize the pic and i havent figured that out yet now as for my 2nd Gen im going to the dark side with that one

    good to see your back up and running i finaly got a new battery instaled in the venture i bought from 1rooster and filled the tank with gas 1 1/2 gallons to top and took it for a test ride down the block found a few things i need to take care of on it but it runs good brake fluid change oil and filter change clutch fluid change tune up and new tires will get me started

    hey dragonslayer i did the OTR for 14 yrs loved every miniute of it and i miss it now i came off the road to watch my kids grow up and have enjoyed that even more. i will go back to it one day but please do your homework on this subject as it is not meant for everyone if you decide to do it get hour hazmat and a twic card. the twic card alowes you un escorted acsess to rail yards and ports for delivery and pick up. good luck on your endevor
