  1. If I remember correctly Tom does not have risers on his bike. I do and had to do THIS SEE POST #24
  2. Now come on Larry, I know they didn't bother you ! 30 + years in a stamping plant took some of my hearing, I don't need all that LOUD on my trip finishing the job. The samson's WILL go back on when I get home. I have noticed that since I put the stockers back on I don't get decel popping anymore. As for MPG, I'm still working on my first full tank since the switch, I'll report back when I refill.
  3. OK let's try this, since nobody got some fireworks. You, your bike and a man of the cloth. Rabbi, Priest, Nun.... you get the idea. Happy hunting.
  4. Ever since I bought my bike it's had Samson pipes on it that are on the LOUD side, I pulled them off and put the stock pipes back on and now can hear the engine and road noise Things sure are quiet! I do have a little chirp coming from the clutch area, I don't think it's the whine so many complain about. Were planning about 3000 miles with the International Rally being the start and thought it would be nice to actually hear the radio and CB without having to wear ear plugs all the time.
  5. You need an extension, swivel and 12mm socket to get at those nuts. Some of what you are hearing could be because the tabs that secure the ends of the windshield bracket are broken, there are several different ways to fix that, lots of info on the board for those repairs. I hope your vacation is going well in spite of the annoyances.
  6. Are you sure the inner fairing is tight ? There are 4 nuts that hold it on. You could slip some thin rubber shims between the rubbers and inner fairing. Or between the handlebars and the rubber. This may not be possible without either loosening the inner fairing or handlebars.
  7. OH DEER that's gonna leave a mark ! Look at the bright side, at least you'll have Venison for dinner for a few nights. YUM
  8. That's good news that you are finally happy with the outcome. Now give your self a big pat on the back for a job well done.
  9. I looked at these yesterday at a local car audio shop, very kool unit, accepts sd cards, usb memory sticks, aux input. I think 300 watts through 3" speakers that sounded pretty good. Has a remote that worked through a cinder block wall so putting the unit in a saddle bag is no problem. I considered buying one just for the usb & sd slots. I think the one I looked at was made by BOSS. http://www.cruisingwithtunes.com/100_watt_system_with_usb_sd_bullets_or_oval.html
  10. Mix a soultion of hydrogen peroxide and dish soap and bathe the dogs with it several times, it will get rid of 90% of the stink. Another method, but one the dogs won't like, build a smoldering leaf fire, hog tie the dog and slip a pole throught their legs, suspend the dog in the smoke from the leafs, the enzymes in the smoke will neutralize the skunk odor. I did say the dogs won't like it, but it does work!
  11. Y'all been drinkin' Electric Kool-Aid again ?
  12. I almost took you serious till I saw you were from Canada, all you canuck's know about is beer and hockey
  13. [quote=Million Mile Rider;697469 At this late date, one of us has to stay home while the other is off playing, because we have a ranch of Llamas, Alpacas, miniature goats, etc. Miles:whistling:
  14. :rotfl:
  15. Thanks, but I already got a new saddle
  16. mine doesn't have the removable pouch.
  17. A couple more days and I'll change the target, this one seems to be going nowhere.
  18. HEY they may be short but can you see this one ? Seriously though, I don't keep them in a case so they hook on the interior seams. My camera is just large enough to be a pita to pull out.
  19. I love the work Nancy does but it's a little out of my price range right now.
  20. When I drop my glasses or camera into the Hopnel pouch it's a fight to get them out because of the depth.
  21. Good luck finding that pump in no-mans land. Other than a boat motor, have they ever heard of Yamaha there !? A little ABS glue may fix that crack and some rubber washers may stop the screws from loosening, look in the plumbing department. Are you sure you're not riding a Harley Have a good time but where's the pictures? Have you found your Grandfathers statue yet ?
  22. I'm beginning to think all the '01's run forever, I have the same year and color, I've been watching ebay for a lower fairing because a ground hog cracked mine and a front fender to replace the one a Deer customized. I have not seen seen either in 1 1/2 years of watching.

    Rain Boots

Never been in that situation luckily. I Hope to never be. The Water was ankle deep and you were still riding sounds like you needed a pontoon boat.
