  1. Rented a jet ski on a trip to Cozumel a couple of years ago. My problem was wanting to control it to much after being on a bike. Cured my jet ski longing. You may want to go rent one to see if you really want one for keeps.
  2. Just outside of Winnsboro, if you like anything train related you will like it.
  3. Of course with the first gens it is the mandatory "Pre Flight Inspection" yeah that's it. :cool10::cool10::cool10::cool10:
  4. With that low a pressure, she should have been wiggling as well. My tires used to leak down quite a bit, just checked air pressure before we went to ride. Helped justify a new air compressor!!!
  5. Beautiful truck, stay out of the hail.
  6. Well, for what it is worth I am glad he is gone, but there will be hundreds if not more right behind him. We are taking our eye off the ball and being forced to celebrate this and not watch what is really happening before our eyes.
  7. Go with the kit Skydoc sells, you cannot beat it. Comes with step by step instructions. Great Saturday project, 2-3 cups of coffee and you will be done.
  8. Wow, glad she is okay. Must have been a scary experience.
  9. Well, -1 as I had to sell my 89 to get the cash for the replacement camper (roof was shot to much water damage). Trying real hard to do the Dave Ramsey debt reduction, so cash is the only way. I really hate Dave Ramsey at times, lol. But Linda and I talked and I will get another Venture hopefully this fall. Sold it to a nice guy named George from Anderson, SC. Told him about this website. Of course the bike was running really good thanks to all on this forum. I learned so much about these bikes I can't wait to find one that needs repair.
  10. Republicans have put a plan though for the military to get paid. Obama will veto it, yet keep paying for abortions thru planned parenthood. I guess this may put this over the edge, oh well.
  11. The Virago already has taken flight. http://viragotech.com/yamahaviragoairplane.html
  12. Eastern TN has to be one of the most beautiful areas IMO. Love Rogersville, Johnson City, Bristol, all of the towns.
  13. I have some windshield trim and brown passenger arm rest for 1st gen MK11 (came of an 89). If anybody wants these, email me at sc750virago@charter.net. No charge, if anybody can use them you can have them. Just take all of it, save me 2 trips to the post office, lol. Thanks.
  14. Isn't it better to keep them on the center stand to keep the floats sitting level?
  15. Hey DZ, welcome to the site. You are showing wise judgment already in looking at the great Yamaha Venture. I got my 89 about a year and a half ago, bought it through ebay. Paid $2000.00 for it. I was a little reluctant at first, this was my first big bike. I had a 750 Virago previously and wanted something bigger for 2 up riding. Looked at mid 80's Goldwings for a long time, but when I finally test rode one it was not for me. Did not feel comfortable to sit on and my big stupid foot could hardly hit the gear shift with the pancake engine. Came across the Yamaha Ventures, knew nothing about them. Found one to sit and test ride and was hooked. Since I have had mine with the help of this site, I have done the following: New front and rear tires Changed all fluids Changed spark plugs Changed air cleaner Replaced crappy old fuse panel Changed front master cylinder (site glass started leaking) Inspected or replace brake pads I can turn a wrench or two, but no means am I a mechanic - but I listen and read and read and read all I can using this forum. I did pick up a factory manual for the bike, but honestly all the help and confidence has come from this forum. Hope you can make a deal on the Venture, they run incredible when running right.
  16. There is a V sign? That could mean a lot of things, lol.:rotf:
  17. Finally, after new tires, brakes, fuse panel, new front master cylinder, oil and filter change, rear diff oil change, new plugs, got to take the first ride today. Got in 80 miles, not a huge amount, but it felt AWESOME. Thanks to everybody for there help on this forum getting my 1st gen up and running!!! :lightbulb::lightbulb:
  18. What are you hearing about the nuclear plant that is having all the problems? One source says a meltdown is imminent, another source says things are getting better with no danger of a meltdown. This is the one where the cooling building exploded earlier today - although it looks really strange just before the blast you saw a white type halo thing above the building.
  19. Only other thing I can think of is I use Procon as a web filter with my Mozilla. Are you using Procon, you may have to add this site as a safe site. Just a thought.
  20. Which version of Firefox are you using, my version is 3.16.15 and all is working as it should.
  21. I am sure we have LEO (and God love them) that belong to this website, what do you think about the profiling comment?
