  1. I really never get into 5th till about 80. Bike just feels stronger like that.
  2. No, Because then the low beams would stay on all the time. This for adding 2 4.5 inch HEADLIGHTS. Which have a hi an lo beam. That way when I go to hi beam I have 3 of them not just 1. With the 5 pin relay 87 or 87a will be hot so I have to kill the supply line..
  3. If its not there check in the fairing.
  4. The first relay (4-pin) is just to shut down the 2 4.5 inch headlights anytime I want. Like low battery or just wanting to run with the main headlight only
  5. Here's a setup I use to run 3 headlights.
  6. With Firefox. Got to the pic and right click on it. Select "copy image location" Go to the post you want to put it in. Start a reply and then click on the yellow "mountain/moon" icon " insert image. paste that in and its there.
  7. You using IE or Firefox. Its easy in Firefox.
  8. It could be torqued down incorrectly. I had a problem just like that a couple of years ago. Remove the wheel. Remove the rotor and spin it to the left or the right one or 2 bolt holes. Now retorque it but be sure to do it in 3 steps. That fixed mine.
  9. Actually on the 5 pin relays you have to use 87. The 5 pin relay toggles the power between pin 87 and 87A. 87A is marked N.C (Normally closed) and 87 is marked N.O.(Normally Open). When current is applied to the induction coil a magnet field is created. This field pulls the switch from sitting on 87 to 87A. I'll find a diagram and put it up here. The diagram is for a SPDT.Single Pole Double Throw. the 4 pin relays are SPST or single pole single throw. http://www.shoppalstores.com/clreynolds/image//pagedesignimages/relaydiagram.gif http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/31yYn6DtrdL._SS400_.jpg
  10. That's about it. You'll want the relay to carry the load. Switches aren't made to carry hi amps. The basic 4 pin relay is all you need. Take a fused 14 gauge wire and run it to the relay from the battery. Connect it to pin 30. Then take a wire from pin 87 to the lights. Next get a wire and ground it. plug it into pin 86. Now tak a wire and run it from pin 85 to your switch. Then on the other side of the switch run that to a hot wire, I use the front running lamps. This wire does not need to be 14 gauge, it can be 18. The wiring diagram is on the relay. the pins will have numbers or be arranged according to the diagram http://i.s.shopwiki.com/i/data/0x0/8/150/314/aHR0cDovL2VwLnlpbWcuY29tL2NhL0kvY2xhc3NpY2dhcmFnZV8yMDU4XzExNzM2NDAzNA====.jpg
  11. But Vic always sounds like that
  12. Have you tried removing the magnet now and go back to the same light ?
  13. Something is off on the triple tree or the handle bar mounts.
  14. If you used fix a flat or something like that I think you have to ride it for like 20 minutes.
  15. Yours is so old if we try to remove the shims they'll probably crack and fall out.
  16. Yea, I just ordered about 15 more shims to help bring the stock back up. Now I did find a shim exchange place on the web. They charge about the same price as these guys. 3 bucks a shim to exchange them.
  17. U gots oil in it ? Well, they ain't the quietest thing out there that's for sure
  18. The 99's had some problems with trunks cracking. They fixed that in the 2000 model.
  19. Prayers Sent. Take it easy for a while after they are done. NO RIDING on Wednesday Vic ....
  20. I think we all gonna wind up with one shim each instead of a pack of 5 and a bunch of empty boxes... But we tried.
  21. Yea, its a magnet. But the oil creates too much of a suction to remove it from the bucket using a magnet. Once you break the suction with a small screwdriver using the notch in the bucket. Then you can use the magnet but to me its just too small. Rather have a magnet on a stick... But You know all this already. I just put it here for those who haven't done it yet.
  22. The Parts unlimited catalog is showing those prices for a 5 pack also. I may order a few myself
  23. There's a few in there. But what you really want to do is run a 15 amp fused 14 or 12 gauge wire from the battery to the relay for your power source for the lamps. Then you can use parking lights or cig lighter to trip the relay since that uses very little power
  24. Check the Manf date. I would not use a tire that's over 5 years old. But that's me. Just too much riding on my tires.. Now where have I heard that before?
  25. Yep, That would have been bad.I usually don't wind up with tires on my bike that long.
