    I like the swept back solo look. EFI is a plus, but I'll keep my 5yr warranty vs 3yrs, and besides i've gotten very used to the rpm hungry V4.

    I went to Napa and they used a "Spectrophotometer" to take a picture. I have an old family friend that owns a body shop and is gonna spray it for me.     If theyre saying it will be covered under warranty. Get it in writing from the shop. That way you are covered.

    Almost finished sanding now and added a Clearview windshield with vent and recurve to the HD fairing. The 3 hold will fit the 5 hole with a little bit of grinding.

    I'd check the state inspection checklist and I bet you will find that the only requirement of tires are that they have atleast the specified tread depth and safe for highway use. Then take that to your inspector and let them know that it will pass per the state specs.

    I run the NEXEN 165-80-15 and have had zero issues. 38psi, 14000 miles and going strong.

    Welcome to the DarkSide. I'm running the Nexen 165-80-15 at 38psi. Almost 14000 miles and counting. The cookies only get better.

    The fairing is off of a 1993 HD Electra Glide Police bike. I had to do some cutting to get rid of the headlight mount and of the inner to make room for the speedo. It wasnt too bad, just used a dremel and a steady hand. I just got the aluminum brackets made today and will be sanding some tonight and finish up by the weekend. I'm gonna paint it black for the time being.

    I'll work on that. Using a cell phone to document the progress. I'm gonna strip it down this weekend and do some painting, and clean up the edges a little bit.

    Here is some progress on my fairing. A friend helped me make the brackets out of plywood as templates to scan into the water-jet machine.     :confused07:I love the Venture and all but geeze, Yami is milking and raising the price on a machine that hasnt changed in 12 years:starz:? I want a Venture when I do decide to upgrade from the RSTD but if Yami keeps this up, I think Im gonna have to go with the Wing.

    Trouble or not, they are good folks that love to have fun. I had a great time. Salty Dawg, I hope we can all get together again in the not so distant future as well. Mini said Oct 23rd in Lexington I believe.

    I just want to say thank you again to Beer30, Becky, MuffinMan, MiniMuffin, SaltyDawg, and Brandy for lending their time, tools, knowledge, and great sense of humor today. Got the carbs tuned and the throttle response is completely different. I think I even felt the front end pop up. Looking forward to making a M&E soon. Thanks again guys and to VentureRiders for be a great bunch. P.S. Muffin Man, I didnt take it easy. Rode it like I stole it the 30miles home.

    I would just send Utopia an email and ask them. They were real nice and answered my questions when I bought mine last year.

    Thats great!!! Enjoy the "Darkside". 8000 miles and I'm still going strong on my NEXEN.
