1. We will probably pass through Tupelo on Sunday.
2. Another oner for good measure.
3. I am going to Corinth, MS, down around Oxford as well. Its a reckless fairing. I made my own brackets and after posting a picture in their gallery they miraculously now make rstd mounts for the fairing.
4. I added a 12v plug aka iPhone charger and 3 more memorial dog tags. The gf and I are riding out tomorrow afternoon/evening to mississippi to see family. The NC mountains should be fun.
5. As much as I love my RSTD, I would definitely like to get my hands on a 1st gen. Ill find the perfect deal one day.
6. Well when i started the bars were staggered and and at idle its been running a little not right is how i put it. Fuel mileage has been dropping and yes I can tell a difference. 2 RSTDs in 3 years and over 60000+/- miles between them both I know when things don't sound the way they are supposed to. So yes it works. Didnt see the joking part. Sorry.
7. Did you find a taker? I have an un molested stock set.
8. Couldn't have done it without this forum. Used it once and its paid for itself. Anyone in eastern nc that wants to save a few $ Ive got tools a jack and a covered area to work.
9. I can hear mine on the interstate pretty well. Im really pleased overal with the fairing. I ordered the Road Star version because the forks are the same width.
10. I put a reckless fairing on my 08 RSTD after they told me that it was not possible. Ironic that a few months later its an available option. Hmm shoulda got a patent. Oh well glad other rstd riders will get to enjoy it. I made mine fit back in the early spring. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=68109
11. Does anyone know of a 4 into 4 exhaust that is made for the 05-09 RSTD, or has anyone seen any custom made for them?
12. Nothing in the law that I have seen says car tires can not be used on motorcycles. Look at "motorcycle tires" from the 50s and 60s. there isnt much difference. I believe it is preference. I can speak for NC as far as inspection goes. All that is checked is that it is a DOT approved tire and has a minimum of 3/16ths tread. I'm not much of a peg scraper but I have done it on occasion with CT and MTs without any issue.... So with that said ride safe and DarkSide all the way for me.
13. I picked up mine real cheap from a buddy that wrecked his RSTD. Just had them re-upholstered.
14. Brackets for reckless motorcycle fairing for Yamaha RoadStar to fit RSTD. One hole left to drill but here they are. Not machine shop worthy yet but they are functional.
15. Sorry Ive been out of the loop for a few days. I have the first set cut. Just gotta drill and take pictures.
16. After burning through the pirelli that came with my 2nd RSTD Im finally back on the CT. This time was the first time I had taken the tire off of the bike. It was surprisingly simple to do. Took it to my normal guy and it popped in at 50 psi. Note: tire was in the trunk for about an hour before i dropped it off. Heat and a clean rim are key. So glad to be back pn the DS.
17. The fairing was 400 shipped. The stereo set up was about 150. I still have to get it painted but it is black when you get it.
18. Good Job!! Welcome to the DarkSide!! I've been through 2 DS tires. 20k each. switched bikes and ordered my Nexen last night. Have fun looking at the faces of those that say "You cant put a car tire on a motorcycle! Its illegal." LOL
19. Ok, I have the finalized mounts to mount a reckless motorcycle fairing if anybody is interested. It bolts directly to the plates that come with the fairing and my bracket mounts directly to the bike in place of the stock windshield hangers.
20. New to me ultimate seat with custom upholstery.
