  1. I have only one question. What headlight bulb were you using??? I've heard stories of people using high wattage bulbs and melting the wires or plug. I stepped the bulb up on my scoot and I'm worried about melting something. joe
  2. Yes Sir, Anti Seize is a must if you plan on taking them out later and leaving the threads in the head. joe
  3. Did the scoot come with one of the original tool kits?? If so the yamaha spark plug wrench in the kit works. Maybe not well, but it does work. Keep this in mind when you buy new plugs. Look for a 5/8th inch plug . Joe
  4. Condor, I'll keep watching for the next list, but one question. Do the carbs need to be worked on with these mufflers??? joe
  5. They have come a long way................ joe
  6. I didn't think there was an issue with the filtering part of Fram, but the quality of the screw-on filter construction. Not everyone had this issue. Use what works for you. joe
  7. After having the same problem, with the same fuse. I discovered that the signal line was and was not the problem. The side lights on the front bumper, had been run thru this circuit. The wire was rubbing against the braided brake line and shorting things out. I'd got with Neil. Look for a short. Mine burned thru the insulation and then burned thru the braided brake line. Keep looking! Check accessory wiring . joe
  8. Isn't this the filter only not the screw on filter?
  9. I think I covered it all, I also got a lot of updated brake work completed. After I burped the front brake, I replaced all of the bleeders with speedbleeders. I replaced all pads. Stainless steel lines all around. Bleed the system and then replaced the clutch bleeder and did the same there. I covered everything and now It stops too good. I'm not use to this. joe
  10. How do I do that?? It sounds a little more complicated that hitting reply. I have partial use of the site , but Forum and PM's are not working. How do I clear out cookies?? E-mail me at JNJNiebauer@Comcast.net............

  12. Don, I have a question? I can bring the site up, but if I click on the forum or private messages, I get a box that wants to know if I want to save to a disc or Open. No mater what I hit, This box shows up. I got here by hitting General Discussion but all I can do is reply. Is this something others have had or is it with me and my computer. joe(JNJNiebauer@Comcast.net)
  13. Thank You!!! I tried the first and discovered that the fluid was in the caliper and the anti dive unit. I had gotten a message from MikeBrood and his was Identical to Randya. I loosened the nut on the banjo fitting , actually I took the end off and covered the hole with my finger. Two pumps and out it came. I burped my VR standard brakes. They work and I thank you all for your imput. However now I'm having problems with the site and private messages. I will work that out, but the old girl is fixed and the brakes work. Thanks to all, joe
  14. Help. I'm replacing the front brake line and the brake master cylinder on the handle bars emptied out. I'm having problems building the pressure up. The lever won't pump up. Any thoughts? joe
  15. I tried to sign on last night and I got "You are not Authorized to use this site" . Is everything alright? Did anyone else have this problem?? Is it me?? joe
  16. I thought I'd try to take it back to the shop in PA that I deal with, but the air was coming out fast. I decide to try a shop in Frederick Md. It was only 9 miles away. I threw the my cig/adapter compressor in the back and took off. One stop and I got there with 20 lbs in the tire. They took it off and broke the tire down. According to them, the ride-on in the tire had pitted the rim and destroyed the seal on the valve stem base within the tire. They worked on the inside surface and managed to reseal the valve stem. I thought ride-on(not the cheap kind but the real thing) would not hurt the metal??? I guess putting a new rim on at a later date is better than getting a flat while riding. Unless I discover the rim is too pitted to hold air while I'm riding. Oh Well. joe
  17. The whole thing can be fixed when you buy the new plugs. Auto lite or Champion plugs come in the 5/8" variety. 18mm is tight while the 5/8" gives you lots of room. joe
  18. I hope there is an easy fix, but I don't think so. Was going to take the beast out and bingo the front tire was flat. That brand new metzler was doing the pancake impersonation. No nail and a full bottle of Ride-on, that tire can't be flat????? It was and the air was coming out of the base of the valve stem. There are two nuts on the base of the valve stem and one appears to be a locking nut. Is there a way to tighten it or does the tire need to be removed to fix it. I tinkered with the stem, but it turns and does not appear to be tightening. Any thoughts?? joe
  19. Lets see, red is for hot/summer air, and black is for cold or winter air. The ground is under the tires and spring is right around the corner. You can get it all at this site. Thanks Guys!!!!!!!
  20. I stared at that picture for 20 minutes and you know there is a motorcycle in the picture.
  21. Did someone say 1st Gen................How about the two tone blue.
  22. I must be living in a closet. I think the bike looks sharp, but what is it??? A VV??? A Victory?
  23. Help!! I have an 84 Standard. I was having problems with the gas gauge , It would read full and I"d drive 30 miles and I would have less than 1/2 tank. The mechanic I go to told me it was the sending unit in the tank. I pulled it out and used a new gasket to seal it up. Wrong leaked. Took it apart and tried again. Leaked. Stopped by the local shop, Yamaha #4. Leaks. Hand cut a cork material. Leaks! Any thoughts on what will seal this up???Joe
  24. Yes Sir, put on a Rivco and you can throw away the spring, the Washer and the oil filled filter, not to mention the housing with the "O" ring. Progress, ain't it Grand!!! joe
