  1. That's about 4 minutes more then I'd like to ride it.
  2. I hear the 2011 models are going to have a video system. 12" black and white TV with Beta! Can't wait, I've been saving those Rambo tapes a reason.:rotfl:
  3. Funny how they can drop programming that was part of your contract with no problem. But when you want to drop them, they want extra $$ for cancellation.
  4. The oil pump will also hold some oil during a change. If the pump loses it's prime, it could take several minutes to start pumping again. If this happens, you are looking at replacing the bearings.
  5. Wonder how it would sound with a set of screamin' eagles?
  6. The door switchs work by making contact with the body (negitive battery). It's possible that the wire for the switch is chaffed and is shorting to the body. Pull the switch out and hook the clamp from a test light to the wire and the probe side of the tester to a fuse that you know is live at all times. If the light comes on, you have a short to the body. (make sure all other doors are closed while doing this test).

  8. I can't tell you what the dimentions of the bulb are, I don't have one on hand. But I would have to assume the length would have to be the same as a standard H3 halogen. If you change the length of a bulb, you would also change it's focal point. But it is best to call and ask them.
  9. Squidley is right. I didn't notice you mentioned driving lights. Usually fog lights use H3 bulbs. May want to check them to make sure.
  10. These are the same lights as Flyinfool has in his 88. So there shouldn't be any problem for your 90.
  11. I've seen TV/Newspaper reports ranging from 50 to 150 thousand. Would have been nice to see them actually count the bikes coming into town from all directions at the point where the road is closed to cars. Also they would have to start counting on Wednesday as many come to town early and stay all weekend.
  12. 50 000 bikes? Did they only count the bikes parked at Tim Hortons? LOL Problem with the way they count the bikes is, they only estimate what is downtown. Many people that come to town don't even bring their bikes downtown. Eg. The place where I stayed had over 300 dikes and they stayed on the lot for the weekend. People just walked from there to downtown because of the crowds.
  13. I just missed you. I was only 63 people behind you and 2 rows over.
  14. That Venture looks like showroom condition. Nice. The Honda must be pretty wide with that inline 6 cylinder.
  15. Anyone on here own this one? Was at the same site I stayed at in Port Dover but I could find the owner. http://i222.photobucket.com/albums/dd318/elagyrrep/IMG_2760.jpg
  16. Same question here. If shipping to Canada isn't crazy, I'm in for a set.
  17. I upgraded my cables to 4 guage. It made a little bit of difference but still had problems. Only after I did the starter ground upgrade did I solve the problem. Here's the link. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=46890 Thanks to Dingy for this excellent post. Great job.
  18. Went down to Port Dover on Thursday night and Just got home today around 3pm. Had a blast. Stayed at Bessie's place ( 1 Silverlake dr.), saying that because there was another 1st gen there. But I didn't see who owned it til' he was on his way out this morning. New York plates. There was also a 2nd gen there too, asked a few people but they didn't know who owned it either. Anyone here? I was at Timmies around 10am on Friday, a little early for the 2pm meet. It was just crazy downtown at that time. I had enough of the crowds and went back to Bessie's. Saw a few parked Ventures close to downtown but no one to be found. Just too crowded to find anyone. Will definitely be there again in May 2011.:happy34:
  19. Unless you arrive in Port Dover before 5am. Good luck getting even close to Timmy with the bike. Just park it when you come to the stand still and walk to Timmys. It's right down town. Walk toward the beach and you'll see it.
  20. Anyone going? 50th anniversary (50th event, not year. It started in 1981). Should be big.
  21. Not sure if MK1 will work or not. But I was at Zdeno cycle in Kitchener a couple of weeks ago and they had a complete 84 in their scrap yard. I got the front signal light from it so it's up for parts. http://www.zdenocycle.ca/en/index.spy Could also give this guy a call. http://hamilton.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-motorcycles-motorcycle-parts-accessories-yamaha-venture-royal-parts-W0QQAdIdZ195694101
  22. I put Silverstars in my Van a couple of years ago and it was the same case. These things lasted barley a year. I used them a second time and it was the same case, about 1 year. Now I'm back to standard halogen.
  23. What is the color temperature of your HID bulb? They say that 5000K gives the brightest light and lights up the road the best. The higher color temperature (eg. 10000K) bulbs actually give less light.
  24. I'm in too. Between us we have about 4 cents US. :2cents:
  25. We should setup a trust fund. If we all donate some funds, maybe we can help ease the pain.
