You should be able to find a very nice, tricked out Virago 1100 in the price range you are considering Great bike, plenty of power and very good handling for us old timers. And, they trailer load real good....

Thanks Condor. That old Harley 45 brought back some fun memories. Two things I really enjoy are old motorcycles and young ladies. When I'm gone, if someone could tan my hide and turn me into a motorcycle saddle, I could spend eternity between the two things I really enjoyed in life. :rotfl:

:rotfl: Heck, maybe we could start a sub-group.... And it wouldn't be the first time someone arrived at a gathering in a Semi. Colorodo immediately comes to mind.

Let me state up front that I am not a practicing Christian, nor do I believe in the power of prayer. However, I have a friend who is a very devout Christian, and I know he would appreciate your putting in a good work for him with the powers that be. He was returning home late a few nights ago and was involved in a single vehicle accident. He damaged a couple of disks and will be laid up for a few weeks. Maybe longer. SO, if you are so inclined..... Thanks much

Good on you. And, your Long Rider dream catcher is in the mail.

I find most commercials insulting. The latest one that really turned my crank was one for Bridgestone tires which features a rider on a crotch rocket doing a wheelie in the background throughout the entire commercial. A few years ago Old Navy had a commercial showing a young lady in a tank top with pedal pushes on a motorcycle wearing sandals. No helmet and no other safety gear. Sent a letter to their corporate office. Doubt it did any good, but it made me feel better. Guess it might just be an age thing, but......

Very nice. And the Pelican case can take a lot of abuse. Used a similar set up on an old Viagra 750 that I used to own.

If anyone is interested I can provide the link to the auction. MINNESOTA STATE PATROL RETIRES MOTORCYCLE UNIT Five State Patrol motorcycles to be sold at auction ST. PAUL — The Minnesota State Patrol today announced that it has disbanded its motorcycle patrol program and will auction the unit’s five Harley Davidson motorcycles. The motorcycle unit was revived in 2007 with five troopers after a nearly 60 year hiatus. Between 1930 and 1949, as many as 80 motorcycles were in use by the State Patrol. “Our decision to decommission the motorcycle unit was not made lightly, and the troopers who served in this unit deserve recognition for their work to improve traffic safety,” said Colonel Kevin Daly, chief of the State Patrol. “We decided not to put motorcycles on the road this year due to increased training costs, a concern for trooper safety, and a lack of troopers interested in volunteering for the unit.” The State Patrol will offer its five 2008 State Patrol Harley Davidson Electra-Glide, 100 Anniversary Police edition motorcycles in separate auctions. The first motorcycle is scheduled to be sold at a live auction on Saturday, April 21. The State Auction is conducted by the Minnesota Department of Administration and will be held at its facility in Arden Hills. The remaining bikes will be sold in consecutive on-line auctions beginning the following week. The motorcycles are equipped with a 103 cubic inch motor, 6-speed transmission, single seat saddle (air adjustable) and a six-gallon gas tank. They also include side saddlebags, tour pack and communications equipment.

Vent resistance?
Black Owl replied to Rosie1965's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I used a piece of cable zip tie. Cut to length with a small sheet metal screw to hold in place. It is flexible enough to allow you to adjust the louvers to whereever you want them and strong enough to hold them in place. There used to be some photo's on it on here buy they may have been lost in the big crash a few years ago. -
