  1. I think I have one send me a private message with your addy. Just the valve right or do you need the hose also?
  2. I have used them a couple times! Good prices good results!
  3. I recently ordered a set of tires and I checked SWM's price. Too high. I got a better deal Motorcycle Superstore. I have ordered from SWM in the past and gotten good service. But the fact that they dont want to be bothered by phone (or email for that matter as it sounds) says something is going wrong. Too bad, but there are so many internet choices now competition is stiff and money is tight!
  4. Wish I would have known that a day sooner. I checked them but ordered from someone else as they were a bit high! Durn it! Next time.
  5. I am looking for the right side chrome trim piece that is attached to the exhaust collector. Mine cracked and fell off down the road somewhere. I think it is intended to be permanently attached to the collector but I think I can figure a way to attach it and cover that ugly brown collector again. How bout it? Thanks!

I will pick it up and keep it until you come down again D!
  7. I have that socket and I can send it to you. (Dont remember the size offhand.) Do you have a half inch drive rachet or breaker bar? Send me a PM with your addy. I will take a look in the tool box when I get home and post the size. (Dont wait up I work late!) The job really is not as scary as it at first seems. Plus when you are done you will have all those linkages clean and lubed.
  8. I was the one who made those recent posts. I am proud to say the job came out perfect so if I can answer anything I,d be happy to! The manual is somewhat vauge. If ya want you can pm me and I give you my phone or email. Good luck!
  9. Can anyone out there suggest a safe solvent to rinse out the fork tubes on my 83 (with 86 forks) I did an on the road repair and temporarily replaced the fork oil with ATF. Now I want to rinse them out before I refill with new fork oil. Ideas anyone?
  10. Lets not forget the only person that can testify to the bikers perspective is DEAD! I would hold off on that award if I were you!
  11. Check out Randya 's Bikini bike with the purple ghost flames. Sweet!
  12. I would like to point out that this guy USED to camp but now with his promotion to president (MTA) he is too "fancy" for us campers. Its ok we all know where the party is at right D?
  13. :crying::crying::crying::crying: Hi Al! (wussy)
  14. Well I bought the patch on ebay and decided what the heck I already have the uniform why not sign up! Hi Don!
  15. Hey Rick! I would think by now you would have this printed up on a t-shirt. The Guru speaks! Listen carefully! I know my 83 has never handled better. Thanks again! BD
  16. In my experience all motorcycle organizations need to be judged by the heart. If it is only about what do I get for my money forget it! You will be dissapointed every time. Do you beleive in what they stand for? Do they represent your veiws on the subject? If your finances are so tight that you need to weigh out what you recieve back I would wait until you feel more compelled to give. Sometimes its just about "friends"!
  17. I take it there is no cupping or flat spots on the front tire? My 83 did something similar at low speed. I put on a new front skin and problem solved.
  18. Thanks for the valued input guys! I needed a new left side case (lost it, dont ask) so I purchased a set of blue ones. I figure I can use the remaining case to hone in on the color and then have both cases shot in the sparkle crimson black so at least as they age they will match each other in not the bike exactly. Next big question who has a recomendation on who can paint these babys. It wouldnt be to difficult to send all three pieces off to be painted almost anywhere. Ohhh! one more question (as if) if I can purchase the C stripe decals should those be sent along to the painter so they can be clear coated in? Or is that something I can do after the paint is applied?
  19. "It has the paint codes for all the older bikes." Thanks Wizard. So the painter can use these codes to reproduce that color?
  20. Has anybody out there ever needed to paint match there first gen? Do to my stupidity I will need to repaint my saddle bag(s) and I would like it to match the original sparkle crimson black on my 83. Any thoughts?
  21. My 83 Standard has just over 130,000 on her and still looks real good. She won best of show last spring @ the MTA rally in La Crosse Wisconsin. Not the high mileage winner but up there anyhow!
  22. Hey there burn a tater! I have the solution. 83 Standard! Preferably black! Glad to see your playin with your new scooter! She's a real bee-u-ty! See ya in WV!
  23. Thats right Bill. My solution was to fabricate to small block off plates and remove the units alltogether. I had the plates powdercoated to match the sliders and installed them with some "form-a-gasket" smootz. If I had it to do over I think I would just tap the two holes on each leg and put a plug with an oring or something. This should only be done if you are dissassembleing the entire thing. That way you can be sure to get any chips from the tap out of there before reassembly.
  24. "As an aside, do any of you know if the Progressive springs are the same for Gen1 and Gen2? If I upgrade them now and then change the sliders to Gen2's can I reuse the springs?" I assume you are talking early first gen to later first gen here? (83-85 vs 86-92?) If you are the springs are indeed the same as I reused the progressives when I did my slider swap. No problem. If you do the swap and eliminate the anti dive circuit you might look into the gold valve cartridge emulators from race tech (Corona California Company) the are about $150.00 but the diference between them and the standard post type dampers is night and day! They are adjustable for your weight and riding style. While they are not adjustable from the outside for on the fly changes, you can adjust by removing the spring and lifting out the valve body from the bottom of the fork with a mechanics pick up tool. The company provides accurate presets if you give them honest information about your ride style and weight. I have never needed to change them (as of yet) from the preset. Good luck!
  25. There was a post a while back from a guy who did just that and photographed the entire process. I cant remember who it was but perhaps one of us with more surviving grey cells can remember. Did you try to put the words fork seals in the search box?
