How do I get my riding lights on?
Squidley replied to Sandbagger's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
The toggle switch mentioned sounds like the grips, Gunboat has a set on his '99 and up is low and down is high. If it's a factory light bar setup it's more than likely a push button like Goose mentioned. You might need to split the fairing to see where the wires go to. If you want a voice to talk you through iut you got the number, I can walk you through the whole thing. Hey Dave Zipcode.....nice new avitar -

Well Bob.... The door is always open here in Conroe Texas if you want to come down. There is a place to lay your head and the air conditioning is on Goose and Don are on the money as always, it was good meeting you @ MD, looking forward to the next time -
Now thats funny....and true

James, Good to see that it's you on here and your able to chat a bit. I'm glad to know that you got the message, left my cell #, call anytime you need to my friend. Do what the Doc's suggest, get yourself back in good health as much as you can. Your far too young in the site to be going anywhere soon, great meeting you and it sounds like you had a good time...we'll catch up with you again, rest up bud!

Dianne, Just saw this post! not what I wanted to see, but happy to hear that he is coming along. I have spoke with James numerous times privately, and once on the phone. I was very happy to meet him at MD and glad that he caged it over, very personable and likelable. If he wants to talk with any of us let us know as we can get you our phone #'s that are located in our profiles. Thank you for doing all you have for him, he speaks and thinks very highly of you as do we. We'll look forward to better updates as they come, formerly Squidley, but now Cupcake

Oh we do George, I just wont forget Kreg, unlike some folks that forget other people There's no suspect in it, only 4 others besides me can do it....and Goose wasn't privy to a computer when the name change happened ....I still love you though
-
Annie, I couldn't agree with you more You see, Kregerdoodle punked me very good with my Navy hat that he appropriated and had "Cupcake" embrodered on the back of it. Hence I could not let it go, and my 1st retaliation was his name change, I wont go into the story of where Kregerdoodle came from, but your welcome to ask him privately or just plain call him out on it. Y'all know me, I love a good joke, even if it's at my expence. I have stirred the pot many times here, and take responsibility of my actions that they may at some point have consequences, this is surely some payback for past indescresions. Now I am not going to say who changed my name or avitar, I'd be willing to bet his name would rhyme with something like kneeturd I am going to keep it though, because Kregerdoodle is in for some payback, and everytime I look and see my new name, it will stir my creative juices as to how Kreg will eventually get punked back. I think it's hilarious, I never saw it coming and was actually wondering what happened to that hat...now I know. This is a story that will unfold in the future weeks, but rest assured that I will get more than even at Kregs expence

Damn! What did I do ....and that would be cruel and unusual punishment for me, I used to like you Paul....ONCE!!!
-
Thats the spirit! I knew we could convert you over We'll be there Owen, depending on who comes from where the house in Conroe is available for overnight accomodations
-
Bull, It was great seeing you again, we'll get the signal thing figured out...at least we were able to narrow it down a bit. Like I said, the door is always open in Texas should you make it down....be safe my friend.
-
I am still laughing about this, great punk Kregerdoodle!.....but you know the cost will be very high. Better have eyes in the back of your head my friend...

I'm not sure who came from Florida and where they came from, but Gunboat or Ponch have about 1300 miles from their places by Houston to get to Oberlin.

Just Monkeyin Around and myself did the drive up to Waco yesterday to pay our respects. Ponch was happy to see us and looked good for all he has been through. Miller47 and his wife Rhonda also showed and it was good that we had a couple VR folks there. Ponch has obviously had his plate full and appreciates all the well wishes. It was about 175 miles each way for us and we rolled into Conroe last night about quarter after 10, tired, but happy to be able to help our brother and his family out. Thanks again for all your support in sending the good vibes to David and his family.

1 last bump to offer travel to Waco from Tomball. If anyone wants to catch a ride with Monkey man and myself we'll be leaving the shop in Tomball at 2pm sharp.

The bleeder for the slave cylinder is down on the left side of the bike just in front of the middle gear cover. There should be a black rubber cover over it and when you lift that off you'll see the bleeder screw. swap out your fluid and I'll bet you problem will be gone.
-
If it's that old with so few miles I'll bet it's the original fluid. Do a bleed and replace all the fluid in it, had the same thing happen on 1 of my '99's had to pump it several times for it to disengage. Swapped out the fluid and the problem disappeared, might want to do all the brake fulids also while your at it
