You may be in luck. But again you may not be. Venturega just put a pair on last Friday. He sent me a video to show me how they sound. They sound real good to me. I have HD slant pipes on mine which are louder than stock but not very loud at all. His LA Choppers are louder than my HD pipes. I don't think they are as loud as the BUBS. Now I will attempt to put a link in here but more than likely it will not work since I have never put a video on this site before. So if this doesn't work if someone could tell me how I'll try it again. lac exhaust.wmv Harry:confused24:

Handle Bar Risers
YamaDuck replied to midnightsunrider's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I bought a 2000 MM RSV and it already had the risers. I don't know what kind of risers they are but they have a solid round bar coming out of one side of each riser. They are 1" dia. by about 1 1/2"-2" long and the bar fits in the rubber mount just like the original handlebars. When I got the bike it had the original throttle cables. Like was mentioned before they would stick at full throttle. No big deal but I didn't feel comfortable with it that way. I didn't want to break a throttle cable out in the middle of no place so I replaced them. I got mine from RickH. I got 2" over stock length SS braided. Now I have peace of mind. Harry:missingtooth: -
There is some white stuff falling out of the sky. Does anyone know what it is. I think I saw something like this many, many, many years ago. I could have just been dreaming though. Whatever it is it is sticking all over the ground. Sure is pretty. Harry:sign woo hoo::sign woo hoo:

Man I hate to hear stories like this. I like both trailers you did a great job and put in a lot of work. I wish I live nearer to you I would be interested. Harry

Why would anyone even want to use a tapedeck? The 2nd Gen's have a plug so you can plug in a MP3 or a Ipod. Tapedeck 90 minutes of music... MP3 or Ipod 24 hours of music. Easy choice:thumbsup2:

The fake ebay and paypal emails are pretty easy to spot. 1) they never call you by name. They start out say something like Dear Ebay customer or Dear PayPal customer. Ebay and PayPal will always great you by name. 2) and like has already been mentioned Ebay and PayPal will never ask for or to log in. In fact if you ever deal with any company that sends you an email asking you to log in you should not do it. Back out go to their web site log in.

I can't speak about the GW as I have never ridden one but I would be very surprised if you gain anything if your switching because of weight. I have a Road Star and a Venture and I ride the Venture more than the Road Star. One thing you will improve on though is MPG. I have friends who ride GW's and they get 35 -38 mpg my Venture gets 45 -48 mpg. It has plenty of power and it seems that the more RPM's you give her the better she runs. If you have to have a touring bike I don't think you can do better than the Venture for overall performance and comfort. Two things you have to get used to though 1) slow spead handling but there is a fix that someone your size can do to improve the slow speed handling. (I'm not tall enough to do it so I just have to be careful) 2) If you get a Venture with the engine whine. Mine doesn't have it but two friends of mine do. There is one thing you can do to try to get rid of the whine but that any not do it. Most people just turn up the radio. The whine is not a problem just part of the nature of the Venture. If you don't have to have a touring bike then I suggest the Stratoliner. Lower center of gravity and pleanty of power. If you don't have to have a tunk or a bike that is comfortable for 500 miles at a time then this is your bike. Harry:thumbsup2:

Sorry to hear that. I didn't know I had to worry about PayPal. I've had my VISA number stolen twice and it is a hassle getting everything resolved. I hope everything goes smothly for you. Harry

Man now that's beautiful to me. Another picture for my memory bank. I know you guys probably get tired of seeing all that ice and snow... Just one day a year that's all I ask just give me one day a year of heavy snow down here. I'm not asking for to much am I.
-
I don't have one but a friend has one on his Strat and loves it. I know he has owned it for over a year and a half. The only thing he says you have to watch out for is the rain. He says that if you leave the bike out and it rains the water seeps through the stitching and soaks into the foam. Should be a no brainer to work around. He says it is very comfortable. Harry:thumbsup2:

Snow, ice what's that I can't remember what a snow flake or sleet or freezing rain even looks like. I've heard stories about them and I've seen pictures. Hey man have a safe trip! Harry:thumbsup2:

We'll be in Colorado the 2 week in Aug. We have never been. If anybody can suggest a place to get a map of these places ya'll are talking about we would greatly appreciate it. It sounds like we'll be out there in between all your trips. This will be our last stop on our trip before we head back home. We will start our sight seeing in S.D. Here is our basic route. SD, WY, MT, WY, MT, IDAHO, WA, OR, CA, NV, AZ, UT, AZ, UT, CO, NM, CO and then home. That's a lot of riding in 4 weeks. We are planning on leaving around the middle of July and being back home the middle of Aug. I'll be listening to channel 29 so maybe we can meet some of you guys. We will be camping as much as possible also. Harry:sign woo hoo:

Doesn't say what size bar the clamp fits? And doesn't list RSV as one of the bikes it fits? You must know more?
-
I agree on the Longhorn with 1" clamps. Gives me lots of adjustability. If you put the Yamaha lower wind deflectors on in the future or if you have them on now you will need these to work around the defectors. I ordered mine off ebay for $109 plus $10 s&h. Harry:mo money:

South Seattle price $134.96 and I have not found anyone with cheaper shipping and handling rates for the U.S. For Canada you may want to give them a call for future purchases.
-
Probably a combination of all three. The important thing is you'll end up with a 2001 RSV.
-
My C.U.'s rate was 4.5% on new for 48 months and 5.5% on used up to 36 months. It sounds like you may need a new C.U.

Boy that sounds familiar! I just retired in Oct. from being an ATC and a friend just retired from the Fire Department and we are doing the same thing this summer. Here is our route. It will start out west because anything within range of a 4 or 5 day trip we can do anytime. We are leaving here around July 16 or 17 and riding up to IL. then IA. then SD. then WY. then MT for Star Days, then Idaho and WA. state, then Oregon, then Calif. down to San Francisco, then over to Yosemite, then Sequoia NP, then over to the Grand Canyon the up to Utah then Colorado then probably home the Atlanta, Ga. You are welcome to do all or part with us. We are planning on camping or cabins a lot to save money with a cheap motel every 3 0r 4 days or when weater is bad. We may never get this chance again so we are going to see as much as posible in 4 weeks. Harry:sign woo hoo:

Windshield & handlebar question
YamaDuck replied to raceman62race's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I,ve got the clearview windshield. I like it but has a defect and I have emailed them twice to ask about it and they will not answer me. I have read where a lot of people have had very good customer service with them so I don't know why they will not answer me. I would email them and see if they will talk to you before you buy from them. I don't know if their customer service is going down hill or what. If they answer then you can order from them. Also the gas cap reflects into the windshied pretty bad so you will probably need a gas cap cover. You can buy one or make one. Harry -
I'm all ears.

Hey Mountainhorsega. Yes if your sure it's not bent I'm interested. I don't know much about the RSTD are you sure the engine guardss are the same? The one on my RSV has a pretty big scrape on the bottom of the engine guard but you cant see it. The lower right and left fairing don't match that well because it's bent a little. About a 1/4" space between the two pieces. Harry:thumbsup2:

Then take her and the Harley to Sturgis and the RSV to the Meet & Eat. Ya gotta love having a bike for all occasions.
