  1. Thanks V7Goose, I'll check as soon as I get home and see if the fuse has been increased. I definitely don't believe in putting a bigger fuse in. The air pump is designed to be used in vehicles but I'm not sure if that includes motorcycles. The reason I'm using it is out of ignorance. I did not realize the fuse and wiring would not hold the current. I will check further into the matter and let you know.
  2. I just used a 2005 model year. I figure they are all the same but for some reason different years have different prices.
  3. They make kits just for that. I was watching TV last Sunday around 10:30 am and one of those 30 min car hot rod trunk 4X4 shows was on and they were showing a quick change kit starting under $200.
  4. I'm certain your right because I don't know BUTTTT, I have an air pump I bought at the auto supply store that came with a tube of slimy green stuff that is suppose to seal a flat tire. Although I have plugged several tires I have never used the slimy green stuff I have used the air pump many many times and I used the accessory outlet in the fairing of my 2000MM Venture. I have used it twice to completely fill a rear tire that had been plugged. I have topped off the air in the front and rear tires countless times. I have never blown a fuse. I do put the bike in neutral and leave it running so as not to put to much strain on the battery. So at least this air pump will not blow your fuse. Satisfied customer. I always carry the air pump.
  5. Yamaha Sports Plaza in Or. http://www.yamahasportsplaza.com/pages/parts/viewbybrand/default.aspx has it for $426.66. Which is to much but better than either one of the other prices.
  6. In my younger days I had a 1973 model. I had nothing but trouble out of it. I think it was jinked. I'm not sure but it seems to me it was before AMC. It was my first bike and I bought it used with no experience with motorcycles so I'm sure I contributed to some or all of it's problems. The throttle cable broke and it took me several hours to push it home. Probably my fault since I had not checked to make sure the cable was oiled. The muffler fell off. I never did find that muffler even though I saw right where it bounced into the kudzu. Again my fault for not checking the bolts. The front brakes locked up. Back then motorcycles where more maintenance headaches than they are today. HD makes beautiful bike but I don't think they are as dependable and as big a value as some other bikes on the road today.
  7. The other two companies are first rate but I'll never order from ezonedirect again.
  8. Sorry. There is a used unit on ebay. Bid now is up to $115. I know that you just need the case but if you don't get an offer you may want to look at ebay.
  9. Well about the only thing I can tell you is it is one year older than your 87. :rotfl::rotfl:I'm a second gen guy so hopefully so of the first gen guys will respond. Hopefully it will be in great shape and you'll be riding it tomorrow.

Go for it! You only live once and you ain't getting any younger.
  11. I've never heard a 2nd gen whine unless I was riding it. I've got a couple of friends that both have the whine. I have ridden beside them countless times and I have never heard the whine even though they both tell me it is very loud. I rode both and they are right they are very loud sitting on the bike but riding beside it I can not hear it.
  12. So tragic. A fellow employee was telling me that he was on his way in to work the other day (we travel the same road) and the light was red ahead. It was about 5:15 in the morning and a 4 lane hwy (2 north and 2 south lanes). There was a big full size van in the left lane so he switched to the right lane and stopped. He looked in his rear view mirror and saw a car approaching the light and was not slowing down. The car plowed into the rear of the van without slowing down and lifted the rear of the van off the ground and knocked it into the middle of the intersection. The first thought that entered my mind was that could have been me on my motorcycle. That is a scary thought. That is the kind of story that makes me think about giving up riding. I have already totaled one motorcycle when a F150 pickup truck pulled out on front of me and I t-boned it. Cuts, bruises, two broken ribs, a fractured left knee and a torn meniscus. I took out my tool kit straighten the handlebars and footpegs enough to ride and rode it home and then made my way to the hospital. But the van incident scares me.
  13. Great news! I'm not sure of the thread size just get two nylon inserted nuts that take a 10mm socket and you'll have what you need. If you don't get the nylon inserted nuts then a) you will eventually brake the seat bolt off trying to tighten it or 2) they will vibrate loose and your nuts will fall off.
  14. THANKS!
  15. I have this Thursday, Sunday and Monday available as long as it doesn't rain. Let me know if that works for you. Harry
  16. Oh sure rub it in. I didn't check in the 3 hrs it took to sell out and you did. Gee thanks. Seriously Larry why don't you make a list. I had mentioned I wanted two sets but there are so many people wanting them I can settle for one set until you get caught up and I can get the other set later. I wish you would make a list and I will be glad to pay in advance (it could help by the materials) that way I would not miss it again when you post. I'm sure a lot of other people would like for you to start a list also. Harry
  17. You tell me where and when you want the parts to play with and I'll tell you where to send the pictures. Deal?
  18. It's all your fault. I was watching you as you yelled at me instead of keeping my eyes on the road. I'm glad I wasn't stopped in front of him and his dog.
  19. I don't think the engine guards on the RSV are adequate. You can be sitting still and drop the bike and do a lot of damage.
  20. I wish you all the luck in the world but I know there are a lot and I mean a lot of government rules applying to plating. It got so bad in this state a lot of plating companies either shut down or moved to another state. Good luck and let me know when your operational and I'll send you some business.
  21. Alright everyone just a quick update on the suppliers I mentioned in the other post ($6 LED's. $13 S&H. I like it.) Two of the suppliers LED's matched in brightness on fairly fast shipping and handling time considering coming from China and Hong Kong. http://stores.ebay.com/verimage_Car-...34Q2ec0Q2em322 http://stores.ebay.com/Julysky-NO1_C...34Q2ec0Q2em322 Both of these I was totally happy with. Now the nightmare begins. [/url]http://stores.ebay.com/ezonedirect_C...0Q2em14?_pgn=3 I would not buy from again under any circumstances. First let me say that they are very responsive to any communications and will refund your money if you have any problems. Now on Feb 2, 2010 I purchased 6 24ct green LED's from them. On March 5th I receive 3 of the six. On March 8th I received another one and on March 11th I received another one and today is March 15th and I still have not received the 6th one. Alright they are cheap enough I will go with that one if and when it shows up. Well I start installing them and I can't get them to work and I finally figure out that 4 of the five I have are wired backwards. Ok no big deal I'll just reverse the wires. Then I notice I have 3 different shades of green. That will never work. I have 2 that are the same shade of green and are the same shade as the rest of the LED's already installed. Of these 2 LED's one is wired backwards. Of the three remaining LED's one is only medium brightness and all three LED's their color doesn't match what is already on the bike. The 6th one is floating around the world someplace. The wires as stated before are very very tiny so I broke them a few times installing them but no big deal just make sure you don't cut them to short just in case you have to redo them. EZONEDIRECT is giving me my money back and has had great communication throughout this whole ordeal. My advice would be to stick with the other two dealers and by all of your LED's at once so they will match. The other two companies I bought 4 from one and 6 from the other and they all match. Conclusion, If your going for cheap (like me) then you are going to have a few problems. I would do it all over again because the cost saving far outway the problems I've had. My Cheap (Harry)
  22. I'll be waiting also. I just hope I see the ad before there gone this time.
  23. I like, I like. I've been meaning to build me some of those. How about putting me down for two sets. Harry
