  1. Sounds like you guys got a great deal. I've got a crocodile tank bib with kangaroo light and dark brown stitching along with a trunk bib like Hopnel trunk bib Hopnel use to make, again crocodile with kangaroo stitching, crocodile saddlebag tops with the kangaroo stitching, laced grip covers with tassels, crocodile pocket for the back of my Corbin driver backrest and cup holder crodile covered. You don't want to know how much. Troy has had my order for 3 months so I hope he's about done. Should be a showcase when its all done.
  2. I stand corrected.
  3. Heres the guys website I used. He is under vender's who give us a discount section. TSCustomLeather@cfl.rr.com His name is Troy.
  4. And Mike's a heck of a nice guy even though he doesn't like STAR.
  5. 2000MM Venture slash cut Road King pipes, 2001 slash cut Road King pipes, 2006 Road Star BUB and they are loud. They make them because people buy them. Just like dark window tent. It is illegal here but people have there windows tinted all the time. Like was said before, it's legal to make them and legal to sell them it's just illegal to run them in some areas.
  6. I thought it was you that needed the parts. I've got my fingers crossed for you.
  7. I'm pretty sure they changed to black in 02. All the engines are painted though. 99 thru 01 painted silver/grey color and 02 and up black.
  8. Try pinwall cycle parts on ebay. They have torn down a couple of salvaged MM's. Since that piece is rubber I don't know if you can die one or not. If it does not have to be stock there is a guy on here that lives in Fla. and offers members a 10% discount. He also has auctions on ebay. He is making me a tank bib and a trunk bib right now. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=33645
  9. Was it Squidley that needed the parts for a bike someone gave him?
  10. Someone on ebay has a front fairing with speedo and radio and I am assuming maybe the inner fairing (just a guess but since it has the speedo) anyway you could ask. 2+ days left and the bid is $17 and change. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Complete-fairing-for-Yamaha-Royal-Star-Venture-Radio_W0QQitemZ120532559304QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotorcycles_Parts_Accessories?hash=item1c104ce5c8
  11. If your going to have a dog you need something for the dog to do. That's where the mice and rabbits come in. At my house it's squirrels.
  12. Way to go Paul! Now lets see how fast you can get back in the saddle.
  13. Hey keep it up guys I'm loving this. I love hearing you guys bash each others ride because I know how much you love what you ride and ride what you love. And if this was not such a great forum of so many great friends (even though most of you have never even met) someone might get their feelings hurt. But I must confess I'm trying to understand this comment. - Road Star yes I can see someone call a HD knockoff (I have one), - Vstar yes I can see someone calling it a knockoff (even the 950 and 1300 to a limit) - But a Royal Star Venture??? lets compare as see what we get, 1) 98 hp way more than a HD, 2) 4 cylinder (Twice as many as a HD) 3) Radio and CB on the handlebar??? HD in the dash where it should be) 4) Show me a speedo on any HD like the Venture 5) Huge front tire compared to a HD, 6) High revving engine 7) smooth and quite to HD shaking and loud V twin 8) Shaft drive unlike a HD 9) 5 speed tranny compared to HD 6 speed 10) Water cooled compared to HD air cooled. 11) Two colors a year compared to HD many color choices 12) etc... etc... etc... I could go on all night About the only thing I see in common is they both have two wheels and handlebars. Anyway keep the bashing going!
  14. If your talking about the ones I have installed no you do not have any holes to drill. They attach with screws aready in place. I don't have any pictures right now.
  15. I have both the trunk lid organizer which mounts with bolts already in place on the trunk lid and two sided tape. Has a lot of small to medium size pockets and the saddlebag lid organizer which has two metal bars that mount to existing bolts and run across the top of the organizer to hold it on place. It has some small compartments in it. Both trunk lid and saddlebag lids pockets are a mesh material with velcro flaps.
  16. I have a different brand but I have heated chaps, heated vest, and heated gloves and run passing lights all the time and I have not had any problems.

I've seen it twice and I enjoyed it just as much the second time around.
  18. I got them off ebay. http://stores.ebay.com/Supermarket-online365 There are several suppliers. These are the 24 count length which is close to 9 1/2" long. They are usually $1 and around $1.59 shipping. They ship from Hong Kong. I have seen similar items sold from US companies for much higher price and from the ones I've seen that my friends bought and spent a lot of money on I'm not convinced they were made in the US. So if I'm going to by foreign merchandise anyway I might as well save some money. You have to add two sided tape and maybe some wire if the wire that the LED's come with are not long enough. I use the exterior two sided tape. Chrome Glow sells the converters so you can make them running and brake lights. http://www.chromeglow.com/catalog.asp?prodid=520657 They come in different sizes depending on how many LED's you you have for $4.99 each. I have some green ones ordered to accent the bike. I will use them full strenght. That's about it.
  19. WOOHOO sounds great. Yea mine came with two helmets with headsets and a heavy weight cover. I don't even know if the headsets work or not. I don't know why people buy these things and just let them sit but lucky for us they do. Sounds like you have a labor of love project ahead when all the parts arrive. I will be looking for the pictures. I got the trunk lid and saddlebag organizers from them. That is one nice looking luggage rack. I've never seen on on a motorcycle I'll be glad to see yours. Harry
  20. I had a request from Monty to show some pictures at night. Although not at night these two were taken at dusk and I think give you a good idea of how it looks at night. The darker it gets the better you can see them. The first picture is running lights and the second is with brakes.
  21. Well I'm not sure if your asking about the Electropod accent lights or the Electropod flashing brake lights. I have both. Electropods accent lights look great. Not quite as bright as some other brands but they are less expensive and are plenty bright for me at night. The purple which is actually a ultra vilate light is not very bright but the other colors are fine for me. The Electropod flashing brake lights I have also and have not had any problems with them but I have two buddies that both are having trouble with theirs.
  22. I was looking for a clean look that when the bike was just sitting there you could not notice the lights. The saddlebag rails were off ebay. The guy starts them at $49. He says they are used but I don't believe it because he has to many of them and it seems that the saddlebag rails are the only item he sells for the Venture. I think the are seconds because of the quality of the chrome around the welds and the grind marks. He is willing to work with you if you are unhappy and if your looking for perfection I would not get these from him. But if you don't mind less quality for less money then this might be what you are looking for.
  23. Thanks Mike, I have two Venture and a Road Star. After putting 18,000 miles on my MM I decided I wanted another Venture but I wanted a green one. To find one with 4,550 miles on it was pure luck. All I need now is some passing lights. This one is faster than my MM but doesn't get as good gas mileage. Man how bout all this snow this year. I know you are use to it. It has snowed down here twice this year and it is suppose to snow again tonight.
  24. I'll do it!
  25. I am cheap so I tried to find a cheap way to add lights to the rear of my Venture. I found this 2001 Venture with 4,550 mikes on it and bought it for $5,300. It was completely stock. I added a rear luggage rack for $50 and saddlebag rails for $81 and the Harley pipes for $30. Now for the lights. They are LED's and the pictures where taken in bright daylight. I know they are a little dim but I chose to add a circuit that cut the brightness in half so that I could use them as running/brake instead of just running or just brake lights. The two lights on each side of the tail light really show up good at night and the two LED light strips coat me $5.18 and that included shipping and handling. The circuit to make them running/brake cost me $4.99 and shipping another $3.99. The light under the trunk is not wired running/brake but just a brake light (my choice). It cost me $1 plus $1.59 shipping. Through in another couple bucks or the two sided tape (exterior grade) and wire. So all the LED's cost me around $15 bucks. Here are the pictures (I know how you like pictures).
