  1. Big box stores use a contracted service to do all their repairs though you should be able to go to a dealer as well and get the warranty work done. The guy they have up here doing this is about as worthless as t1ts on a boar. half the time they just return it without fixing.
  2. Agreed, though if it's in the line you may be able to just disconnect at the nozzle and blow it out with the pump. If it's in the nozzle itself, backwash it or disassemble (if possible)
  3. Agreed with the previous answers! John Deere lowered their quality standards to compete with cheaper brands. A good dealer will tell you this too. And yes, it is basically an MTD. Depending how you are going to use it, consider a small commercial mower, welded deck (at least 4inch deep) and a Kohler or Kawasaki engine with the air intake on top of the engine. A rider is faster, but bad for the back; a walk behind needs a dual hydro drive and is slower (belt drive even more so); standers are probably a good compromise for homeowners but you need to remember that neither walk behinds nor standers give you much in the form of accessories (though there are some). Push mowers provide great exercise and if you have a small(er) lot, probably the way to go. Depending how anal you are about your grass, the slower the better, narrow is better then wider, high blade speed with a large aggressive wing, large discharge. Mulching mowers suck when the grass is wet and/or too long. Consider what your lawn areas look like, lots of isolated trees, small beds, "yard art", steep banks/deep ditches all affect how efficient your "new" mower will be; i.e. I have some properties I can do faster with my smaller mower then I can with my 60 inch. Lastly, before I shut up, buy your equipment for the job it is intended to do, a L140 with a blade is about as efficient as a horse in front of a 16 foot harrow give me a shout if you want more unsolicited advise, I do this for a living

    Tinnitus

Brenda has it, she mostly just deals with it, I have noticed that the tv seems to have gotten louder over time. The loudness seems to vary from a light ringing to where she has a hard time hearing me speak (but then, I am soft spoken). Personally I had the TV static in one ear one time and long enough to give me an appreciation what she has to deal with. Can't say I envy any of you who have it. A co-workers father cut out wheat products to stop/lessen the problem. A orthodontist we know has the hearing aids, his problem got so bad he could not function anymore.
  5. I used the spray on bedliner (rattlecan) under the floor of the sidecar to help protect it from road debris being thrown by the wheel. I discovered that if you spray too much at a time it will "blister" and I did not think that it had a "rubbery" feel to it with some bounce. Guess time will tell how it works out though.
  6. Yepppers, i've seen 'em up close and personal. The newest version is called a "smart" car i believe:whistling:
  7. Almost; you determine you can do it for $5/light and then they would come back and say that that does not meet minimum (government) wage standards and you need to charge at least $50 :bang head:
  8. Lemme explain ... buy some tickets for a cruise!! Sail accross, she'll think is sooo romantic, then after you get there spring the bike part and fly back :hihi:
  9. Saw one similar but seems like it originated (?) in Japan. Cool video though.
  10. What version of FireFox are you using? Ever since "upgrading" to 3.5 I can't see anything other then text and can't find any of the other 'buttons'
  11. What??!! You didn't get the E-Mail?????:whistling:
  12. OM he's selling his hardly used G, cheap.... don't think I want to touch that one :stickpoke:
  13. It won't let me edit the post title:bang head:, Smart Alec:buttkick: Hey,hey, hey, You're undercutting me!! Better watch it, I'll slash your tires
  14. I've posted my '98 Shadow and some highway boards in the classified if you're interested:sun:
  15. Heck Dave, I manicure lawns for a living .... I can't even figure out how to permanently change my font style and color:doh: But yeah, you get the point. As far as what if you type in the wrong thing, maybe it can offer a suggestion:confused24: Pure laziness of course, 'cause I could always scroll through pages of member listings
  16. In a thread on passing lights there was a reference to another member (CarbonOne) for some type of bracket. Would it be possible (and desirable) to have a supporting members name, or a member providing a product/service, turn into a link to his/her contact information?
  17. Now if you could only live there on you SS you could live like a king:witch_brew:
  18. Temporary fix is in (I hope) I removed one of the bikes 1157 bulbs and by sidecar brakelight works. Now keeping my fingers crossed that when I swap the bikes tail lights out to LED's that would solve the problem
  19. Those look to be identical as the ones I got from Streetglow for $39 to put on the sidecar. Except I got Amber ones. They do lose brilliance when getting off center! Haven't had a chance to run them at night though.
  20. NASA is trying to hide it, clouds in the way:confused24:
  21. Let me throw a slightly differetn angle hear. Americans (and possibly in my native country now as well?) are taught from a young age not to pay attention, so why are you surprised? When I was a kid, I was taugth to look left, right and left again before crossing the road as a pedestrian. Here, cars have to stop for school busses, i.e. cars will stop when you are a child/pedestrian; you get in the car to go to the neighbor, folks live in Cul de Sac's where there is no through traffic so you can play in the street with impunity. And when you get older there are cell phones and texting and I-pod's with 1000 song playlists and DVD players or 'puters to show movies while driving, not to mention a lifestyle which condones eating and drinking and farding and shaving and reading and ... while driving. And if you really want to get me going lets talk about the idiocy of allowing 15 year olds to drive while being taught by the worst possible teacher, a parent! (I used to be a flight instructor, voice of experience) There are warning labels everywhere and on everything, because by God, you might use some common sense and suing someone else may get you some undeserved income .... I'm going to get of my box now .....
  22. Found a 30 Amp fuse at the dealer, largest they had, I'll see if I can find the right size later, for now I'll try the 30 so I can continue my project:D Next question:confused:: I've got all the lights on the sidecar wired in, the correct LED tail lights (bike) are on the way, but for now I still have the 1157's. Here's the rub: without the tail/stop light plug plugged in I have a brake light on the sidecar, when I plug up the bikes tail/stop light I don't. Are the 1157's pulling too much power for the LED stop lights on the chair to work? What else could cause the LED stop lights to not light up? :scratchchin: (they do kind of "blink") I'd really like to get this taken care off, tommorrow (wednesday) so I can button everything back up and maybe go for a ride on turkey day!!:cool10:
  23. Hey Dale!! Figured you weren't going when I didn't hear back from you. No biggie, I'll have to drag you away some other time. Hope Gail's doing better!! Pull you computer display and get the contacts resoldered. After you get it out and look at the contacts you may see a definite 'crater' around the post, or there may be a very fine circle around it. Either way, once you get it out just re-do all the contact points and you should be good for another 26 yrears!
  24. How can you tell if the reserve lighting unit is bad? I'll look into the switch. The CMU was fixed previously (last summer), I think it would still be OK.
  25. Two questions: One! after riding through a downpour at night my headlight quit. I replaced the fuse and saw a "flash" when I turned the ignition on. Headlight still worked on low beam but high beam is dim and brings on the headlight warning light and the CM blinks, the fuse is fine. Could this just be the bulb being bad (it looks OK)? Two! Trying to find a possible bad contact for the above I pulled the headlight, apparently the PO had a "accesory" hooked into a tan #10 wire under the panel. the accesory wire wasn't capped or taped of when he cut it, and it hit the headlight frame. Nothing works!!, All fuses in the fuse panel are OK, I know there should be some other fuse somewhere, but I can't find it. Do I need to pull the entire fairing? Do I need to look for something else? Oh, that was bright! Found that one on top of the battery! For some reason I thought it was down under the fairing! so that answers that, next question though is: Where do I get a new one??
