    I do have a auto trickle charger and trickle charge my other car through the cigarette lighter plug. Can I also plug in my trickle charger via my Venture's 12V lighter plug?

    I am not too familiar with my radio controls either, but there may be a 'mute' function somewhere in there.

    It is good, if you can find the exact speaker that came with you '99 Venture. But this is a good time to upgrade and there are a number of aftermarket speakers that are superior to the OEM. The only drawback would be is to replace all speakers with similar kind.

    Looks like this cold weather has not yet hurt my mpg. My last tank averaged 40.8 mpg, with mostly highway . As for filling up with gas, how do you position your Venture? Do you fill up with gas with the handle bar all the way to the left or handle bar in the middle position or handle all the way to the right? I want to put the maximum amount of gas per fill up.

    I ran Valvoline Moto 10W40 on my previous Vulcan all year long. I also have 10W40 in the Venture. It will be around 25°F Wednesday morning and I intend to ride from Wed. to Fri. It is time to plug in the Gerbings....

    ...that is a good assumption. I have no real explanation, but I know it does get a little hard to reach underneathe while polishing.

    For your scoot, I recommend Hanes. Is your bike a he or a she? Polo Ralph Lauren T-Shirts are also 100% cotton and thick. Do not get 'Fruit of the Loom'.

    The next time you buy t-shirts, get the ones that are 100% cotton...so your Venture will benefit after you have outgrown them. Ride Safe.

    That may be a copy of Carbon One's product. It may not include the legs. Carbon One's adapter can be purchased with or without legs.

    Try not not use an old t-shirt, because it has polyester and may scratch the finish of your bike. Always use a microfiber rag to prevent scratches.

    The picture you attached is my right side...I am also wondering what that piece of metal is for. Yours sure sounds like it is reversed, but not really sure now what is the right orientation of the metal. It may have something to do on who did the assembly of the bike at the dealership.

    It may also be a good idea to go ahead and synch the carbs. When I first did mine, I was deliberately making the carbs out of synch just to see how it sounds and it idled real bad and sometimes had a low or high rpm.

    I think this is what we are talking about...I only have mine on the left and not on the right rear cylinder. It sure does look like a heat shield.

    That is a good tip. I was not even aware that spark plugs will be fouled, if the choke is left pulled for too long and not ride with it pulled out. Sounds like Yamaman's bike may just need new gas and more ride time.

    When I adjusted my adle with a clamp meter, I turn the idle adjustment screw clockwise to increase idle and counter-clockwise to decrease idle.

    A cigarette lighter! It gets pretty hot down there my fellow rider. Try to find another place to put it.

    I think I have the chrome piece on both sides on mine....will double check tomorrow.

    I love the adapter...in fact I got mine used from a forum member. It was a little scary lifting up the bike the first time, but after a few tries I am amazed that I can actually lift my Venture myself by following some tips from members. I winterize my bike by riding it all winter long.

    Will it read 1 to 5 psi accurately?

    So with Nitrogen, I would not be surprised if Formula 1, Indy cars, and Nascar has already adapted the idea of adding Nitrogen on race car tires.

    Big Tom, you are doing great. I applaude you for your determination. It can be very tempting to start smoking, but I hope that you will never look back and move forward towards a clean bill of health.
