  1. I just never know what to say in these situations. Please just know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. We do care.
  2. That is a fantastic look. Using the RSTD fender was a GREAT idea.
  3. I'm not sure I'm understanding what you are asking for. We already have a forum where all newbies are welcomed and you can add your welcome posts to it.
  4. I have been messing with this and still haven't been able to get it to work. This has been requested several times over the past years and I always try and again, fail, then give up until somebody brings it up again. I will try to find a way but in the meantime, it's NOT that hard to find their profile. The easiest way is probably to go to the home page of the forum, scroll to the very bottom and you'll see a list of newest members. Just click on their name there and it will take you to their profile.
  5. No, not easy at all. I've looked into it before and didn't get it to work. I'll try again when I get the chance.
  6. HEY...that was done as a warm tribute to our very own Black Owl.
  7. Yea...but...but....buy from them or support one of our own members. All else being close to equal, I hope that we will support our members.
  8. OK folks...I don't remember if I ever actually told this story here or if I told it one night at Maintenance Day but here it is. It was a dark and stormy night... no...that was another one....OH YEA About 15 or so years ago, there was a group of us in NE Texas that leased some property on the Texas and Louisiana state line that we used for deer hunting. This was up in the NE Corner of the state near a little town named Kildair, close to Shreveport, LA. I was probably on that lease for about 10 years and we always had a great time. We had a large area cleared out where we would circle our campers and have a fire in the center of the circle during the evenings. Now a lot of folks don't realize that it DOES get cold in NE Texas. Not the -20 and etc. that we get in the north but it is not unusual to see temperatures in the single digits accompanied by brisk winds and high humidity which can result in some very cold evenings. This incident happened on one of those cold evenings. It was a brisk night with the temperatures hovering around the 5 degree F mark with periods of sleet off and on all day. We had a decent day hunting and there were two or three deer hanging in the camp. We had cut up a bit of the meat and made a fantastic deer chili. There is just nothing like good venison chili cooked outdoors on an open campfire. Done up in true Texas fashion with plenty of cayenne as well as jalapeno peppers. Good and spicy. We were all standing around the campfire with our stomachs full of spicy chili and having a great cup of coffee while discussing the days hunt. I noticed that my buddy Berk was a bit distracted as he shifted from one foot to the other. He finally seemed to settle down but it was soon after that that I noticed him rolling something around with his boot. I couldn't tell what it was but it looked like a hickory nut or a buckeye....something like that. He continued to roll it around with his boot and eventually just kicked it into the fire. I didn't think much more of it and had actually forgotten all about it when suddenly there was a loud "POP" . It was so loud that we all jumped and more than a couple of us dumped our coffee. It almost sounded like a gunshot but we had a strict rule of no loaded guns in camp and this was a very safe group so that didn't make sense. It was only a few moments later when there arose such a stink that we were all backing away from each other and trying to figure out WHO had cut the big one. I suspected though that it was even worse than that. Remembering how uneasy Berk had seemed earlier, I immediately pointed at him and asked if he had actually crapped his pants. I honestly thought that MAYBE the chili hadn't set well with him and had caused him some real problems. Well, he assured all of us that he had NOT crapped his pants but we could tell by his embarrassment that he WAS the culprit behind this ordeal. He finally admitted that the chili had indeed caused him some severe gas. Apparently he finally decided that he had to let it go. Much to his surprise though, when he tried to release the gas, no gas came out but instead, a big ball rolled down his pants leg and onto the ground. That's what I had seen him rolling around with his foot and finally kick into the campfire. IT WAS A FROZEN FART! It finally exploded when he kicked it into the fire and thus the loud pop and awful odor. Now THAT my friends, was one of the coldest nights I had ever experienced. If you think THAT'S a tall tale...well....just hold my beer and watch THIS.
  9. OK...but it was a LONG day and I'm too tired to type that much. I'll try to do it tomorrow as I KNOW that people want to hear it.

    Trailer ?

I don't know why they haven't replied, maybe they haven't seen the thread but I know that several of our members here pull the Alumna trailers and we actually gave one away as the Grand Prize at last years rally. I've heard nothing but good things about them but I've never pulled one myself.
  11. HEY....that frozen fart story was TRUE. Can't believe there is any doubt.
  12. From some tests that V7Goose has done, it may not actually be the coils. It could very likely be corrosion in the plug caps. Read this thread as it contains a lot of good information. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=39160
  13. Yea, I just read your message again and you are exactly right of course. I just read it in too big a hurry the first time and thought you were talking about getting a new key made for the old one. I don't know WHY I thought that because your message was pretty darn clear. Thanks, I may actually do that also.
  14. I think what he's asking for is a different kind of lock. I understand what he means because mine is the same way. You can't leave it unlocked so that you can get in without a key. It is designed so that you HAVE to use the key to open it. It would be nice to find an exact replacement that you can leave unlocked and open it with just the push of the button if you want to instead of HAVING to use the key to open it.

BongoBob is correct. A lot of the "guests" are bots, search engines, etc.
  16. Sorry to hear that. I think there will always be times when it is slow for some and that is simply network congestion. I run into that at times in my travels from one place or another.
  17. Something like that NX250 would be a nice one to have around. It looks good. Congrats on finally finding it.
  18. Rick Butler has some excellent information on this and a lot of experience. Hopefully he will see this but if not, send him a PM. I know that he does NOT recommend the progressives for the RSV. Actually, he posted a good write up here somewhere on the subject.
  19. OOPS....I think he KNOWS now.
  20. I think I hurt my back watching that. Truly amazing.
  21. Yea, sorry, I was talking about the hitch.
  22. Back to the REAL subject though, it does seem to be a good deal quicker from here anyway.
  23. WOW...I'm always impressed that you guys are always there with the answers.
  24. Seems like the site has been pretty sluggish for a few weeks now. I just had some optimization done on the server. Hopefully it will help.
  25. I still maintain that it's home made. They did a good job on it but it's NOT a Bushtec hitch. They did use a similar Heim type connector for the swivel mechanism as does Bushtec but that is where the resemblance ends.
