  1. and yes, they do make a lowering kit for it. Baron's sells one. At least for the RSV and I THINK it would work on the RSTD also but you will need to check and make sure.
  2. WOW...this thread has REALLY taken some strange twists. Amazing where folks minds will take them when they don't know the facts. And to think....it all started by me simply mentioning to Tom about a butterfly I saw.
  3. Just a reminder folks. There will be a pinstriper at my Maintenance Day again this year. Everybody was very pleased with the job he did last year.
  4. You guys are making me wish I had finished my lessons. I had about 14 hours in a Cessna 150 but that was 25 years ago. Always wish I had finished but was living in a small town with one instructor and he would completely fail to even show up about 50% of the time. I really did enjoy flying though.
  5. Hey...I love butterflies of all sizes.
  6. Hey...it has NOTHING to do with any sex positions...well...though..hmmmmm Again
  7. Nice. Did you paint or use tape? Either way, good job.
  8. I had the exact same thing happen on my '99 a couple of years ago. Right down to the CD breaking up when I tried to use it. In my case, it was indeed the battery.
  9. That's why I am really happy with the VMAX rear on my '99.
  10. When I did my search, I didn't use S. I simply used Yamaha then selected Royal Star Venture from the list.
  11. Well, that is exactly opposite of what most of us would see. Hopefully some others will jump in here on this one but I have to wonder if the floats are set way too high. I am really taking a stab in the dark here but perhaps they are too high but then when running at 85 MPH, they don't have the opportunity to overfill? Otherwise, I would be looking into an electrical problem. A bad charging system that is not letting the plugs fire properly unless you are at a higher RPM?
  12. Really looking forward to seeing the pictures Bill. You have been teasing us for WAY too long...you should be ASHAMED of yourself.
  13. Well, if you clicked the link that I included, you will see a few of them. I didn't use "touring", just Yamaha, Royal Star Venture, any distance.
  14. LOL....point them towards the rear and it would be like having rocket boosters.
  15. I don't know why you are into the fairing and etc. but if you are to the point that you have access to the speedo cable, it would be a good time to go ahead and lube it.
  16. By the way, it was Eusa1 that posted about opening the crate on a new one. Here is his post. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=56808&highlight=2011
  17. What did you search for? http://www.cycletrader.com/Yamaha-Royal+Star+Venture-Motorcycles/search-results?type=Motorcycle|356953&make=Yamaha|2321194&model=Royal+Star+Venture|764863049&year=2011:2011&zip=44074&radius=any&sort=year:desc
  18. Yea, I had seen it before and it is funny but I had also read that it wasn't true. Of course, I have also read that Snopes isn't always true either.
  19. You can check out Tartan Terror's RSV. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/vbpicgallery.php?do=view&g=2185
  20. I do think the only difference between the 660 and the 665 is the XM. I am one that upgraded from the Zumo 550 to the 665. I really do like the XM so did not consider the 600. Was the upgrade worth it? To me, it was not. I think that If I didn't have a GPS at all and was considering a first purchase, I would recommend the 665. It has a few features that I do like as opposed to the 550. Lane change guidance is nice, it holds more MP3 songs, it has the wider screen. A couple of things that I DON'T like as opposed to the 550. Volume output on the 665 seems to be lower. The placements of the XM antenna is more critical. If you place it right next to the GPS, it will not work. I had an integrated mount where the XM puck mounted on the same bracket as the GPS and that worked great for the 550 but the 665 did not work at all that way. I had to move the antenna to the other side of the bike. One other thing is the the 550 remembered that I had the XM on when I stopped and turned everything off. The radio would come back on when I started up again. The 665 doesn't do that. You have to turn the music back on every time after you have turned it off. So if I had it to do over again, I would just keep my 550. If I were starting from scratch, I would still go with the 665 I think.
  21. :ignore::ignore:
  22. Try this one. I think it's the one he is talking about. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1989-VENTURE-XVZ13D-1300-ROYALE-TRUNK-ACCENT-BAR-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem27b95c9d31QQitemZ170613579057QQptZMotorcyclesQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories
  23. It the old problem where he was logged into his account when he copied and pasted the link. You can't be logged into your account when you do it.
  24. I don't know if I invented the stoppie or the slammy. and YES....the pond would have been MUCH easier on the head and ribs.
  25. Yes..but she has a MUCH harder time lifting the RSV....I know that for a fact.
