LOL....yea...but the thing is...it doesn't matter what the first two said....Charlie's response would have been the same.

That really is cool. Not something I could watch for hours but sure worth checking out from time to time.
-
I just put them in the box with the others.

I promise you that NONE of that was made up. It truly happened as told.

You are welcome to have one made for your bike. I'm not too picky about that sort of thing unless people are marketing our logo for a profit. I do have some available however. The current ones are domed and very nice but we have had flat ones in the past, just don't have any right now. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=39088

It's easy...you do exactly what you just said but you don't actually own the product that you are trying to sell. If you respond to the ad in question, you will get a response that "YES...I still have the bike. I am serving in the Army and am presently stationed in Germany. The bike is stored and if you want it, we can use an escrow service. You send the money and blah blah blah." The escrow service is ALWAYS bogus. They get your money, you get nothing. It's amazing that people still fall for these scams but the fact that there are so many of them out there tells me that some people still do.

Anybody who is curious, all you have to do is go to your own profile or any other member's profile. While you are viewing their profile, the address bar of your browser will show your membership number at the very end. For example, this is the link to my profile. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/member.php?u=1 The 1 is my member number.

Or...you could spend a LOT of money for this one. It's the only one I've seen. It prints and scans but is not a flatbed. http://www.pcmall.com/p/Possio-Printers/product~dpno~7707372~pdp.fbjiced?src=search Other than the price, I would be concerned with the availability of ink cartridges because I don't see this brand sold at many places.

OOPS...sorry...you said "scanner" also. I think that one is just a printer.

I had one many years ago. It was an HP and worked fine. The only problem was, the ink cartridges were very small and ran out pretty quickly. I know that HP still makes one but it is a much newer model that the one that I had. http://www.shopping.hp.com/product/printer/Officejet/1/storefronts/CB026A%2523B1H

OK...I honestly don't remember who the first person was. After we had the crash a couple or three years ago, whenever it was, everybody had to register again. I can look up who registered first after the crash but have no way of knowing who the first original members were.

I would bet that it's a scam.

Me

Well, it wouldn't be OK for me but you will have to make your own decision. I pull a trailer behind my RSV but I would never pull anything that heavy. Just my opinion and I know that folks have pulled some strange things with bikes.

New Idea for Air Filters
Freebird replied to dlhoulton's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Dan, I don't think the stock Yamaha filters will work with the chrome covers. That was always strange to me that they would sell new covers that REQUIRED the K&N filters but that seems to be the case. -
That's really a great looking bike. A few things that I noticed immediately. Not the stock exhaust. KuryAkyn grips. Yamaha chrome bag rails. Chrome gas cap surround. Stock was black. I'm thinking that the mirrors are custom.

HA...I've got you beat. My scores are higher than most ALL of yours.

Sorry to hear of your problems. I know exactly how you feel though. I went through a similar, though not as bad, experience before I found my eye problem. It turned out not to even be related to the eye but it was because of that experience that they found the other problems. I hope the medication works for you and it will all be a bad memory soon.

I don't think it will float out in 4th. With the OEM rear, these bikes will NOT redline in 4th gear. It's been several years but I know I had mine close to 120 in 4th.

Looks great. That Bushtec will give you many years of enjoyment. Congrats.

Well unfortunately, I'm afraid so. There should never be any oil coming out of the shock. Now I don't know of any way he could have caused it by swapping the links. Just an unfortunate coincidence I think.
-
Jonas, He probably doesn't have it any longer but you might try Rick Butler. I think that he used to have one with some slight damage. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/member.php?do=getinfo&u=183

Thinking of purchasing?
Freebird replied to cruser635's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
and yes, they do make a lowering kit for it. Baron's sells one. At least for the RSV and I THINK it would work on the RSTD also but you will need to check and make sure. -
WOW...this thread has REALLY taken some strange twists. Amazing where folks minds will take them when they don't know the facts. And to think....it all started by me simply mentioning to Tom about a butterfly I saw.

Just a reminder folks. There will be a pinstriper at my Maintenance Day again this year. Everybody was very pleased with the job he did last year.
