  1. I saw a sign on a house the other day that said "Trespassers will be shot, Survivors will be shot again".
  2. Yes, it is fine. Some people say that you shouldn't use one on a dry cell type battery but that is false also. You should never use one to CHARGE that type of battery but to maintain it with one is absolutely no problem.
  3. It's a bit confusing because there are actually 2 photo albums. The forum software didn't originally have photo albums as part of the package. I had to use a third party add-in for the picture gallery. Years later, VBulletin added the photo albums to the forum software. So, we now have 2 different ones. I probably should remove one of them but it would mean deleting many photos and regardless of how many times I post about the change, some will not see it and not get their pictures moved to the other album. So, the notice you see about pictures below your location actually comes automatically when pictures are added to the vPicGallery photo album. You find that one by clicking on vBPicGallery in the lower menu bar at the top of the forum. Third link from the left between User CP and FAQ. You can also access it from your UserCP. Under settings and options, "Edit VBPicGallery".
  4. Yes, they are most likely too large. What size are they?
  5. We're getting hammered here right now also. I've used the snowblower one time this year but I will sure be using it again here in a few minutes.
  6. Will certainly do so. 50 years is a LONG time. I can only imaging the loss you must be feeling.
  7. Good deal. I asked because there is one on the Cleveland, OH Craigslist that looks almost just like that one. They are asking $225.00 for it.
  8. I was trained yearly when I worked for the Texas Utilitiy Generating Company. That was years ago and I know I need a refresher but I still know pretty much what to do. I've only had to lend assistance twice. Once when a young lady fell asleep at the wheel somewhere between Dallas, TX and Waco, TX. She left the road and straddled a guard rail that rolled her over. I got stopped and her car was still spinning on the roof when I got to it. She was already crawling out when I got to her. Except for being in shock, she appeared to be OK. I got her in the correct position for shock and covered her up. We just talked until the paramedics arrived. The other time was a choking victim at the DFW airport. I was walking to my gate when I noticed a lady choking at one of the food vendors. She had her hands in the chocking position but though a few people were staring at her, nobody was doing anything. I walked over and asked if she was choking and she nodded yes. I did that hienylick thing and it worked. She asked if I had time to sit with her for a few minutes so I sat with her and she held my hand and cried until I had to get to my gate. Neither seemed like big things to do but I will admit that it is very gratifying when you are able to help somebody in need.
  9. Is that a particular brand you are looking for or just the style?
  10. hmmmm........I think I'm sensing a bit of sarcasm. That's OK though.
  11. Yes, because it was starting over with the same mess that got the first one deleted.
  12. Well said. Thank you.
  13. Those are pretty cool bikes. I ran across a good deal on this one about 3 years ago. Sold it pretty quick though.
  14. They are nice little cars. I've never owned one but use to rent them when I was in Northern California on business trips. One thing that I always remind people when they are looking at the 4 cylinders with near 100,000 miles though. It is going to be due a timing belt and tensioner in the very near future. Unless you do it yourself, be sure to figure about $1,000 - $1500 for that little maintenance item. Most are zero tolerance engines which means you will likely destroy the engine if the timing belt goes. That is an important maintenance item.
  15. I agree with you 100% about Apple's policy of trying to control what I do with my phone. That's why mine is jailbroken. Very simple to do and takes the Iphone out of Apple's control.
  16. I'm not sure if Skydoc has them or not. If not, Rick at Buckeyeperformance.com probably does.
  17. Here is an article about the finger incident. I didn't notice it but I was only half way paying attention. It was a decent show though. http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2012/02/06/madonna-headlines-super-bowl-halftime-show/
  18. That one actually belongs to Jonas in Iceland but it is in my name and I keep it registered for him.
  19. No, it is fixed in one position.
  20. In Ohio, vehicle registration renewals are the same as your birthday. Mine will be coming up the first of March so I just went online and renewed them all. I think that registrations in Ohio are fairly reasonable compared to some states. I'm just curious what it costs all of you. I just renewed registrations for: 2011 Kia Sorento 2004 Chrysler Crossfire 1999 Royal Star Venture 2000 Royal Star Venture 20somthing Bushtec Trailer Total cost was $160.35 That included my option to add $1.00 to each one as a voluntary contribution to the Ohio vision program. How does this compare to what you pay in other states? The motorcycles were actually 28.87 each, the trailer was 20.87.
  21. I've got the same one on my bike. I really like the way it looks and it has worked very well.
  22. Belkin are a rip? I've always found them to be fairly reasonably priced. Now Monster Cable...THOSE are a rip. I agree with monoprice.com I've bought from them and got great prices, fast delivery and great quality.
  23. OK first of all, Spyderhead, I'm going to offer you a very mild scolding here. You should not have edited and removed your posts. When you post a question, you may not like all the answers that you get but it is stuff that we can all learn from. When you come back and delete your posts, it screws up the entire thread. Now when we read this thread, the answers don't mean much. You have to expect that when you ask a question here, not everybody is going to share the same opinions on the subject. So, here is the list of what you previously posted of the work that you had done. I'm putting my estimate of the hours that a dealership would have charged to do these jobs. Now we all know that some of these jobs take less time than I am estimating but I think that most dealership probably charge a MINIMUM of one hour. So most would charge at least an hours labor to do, for example, a carb sync. We all know that it can be done in 15 to 30 minutes but I don't think I've ever seen a report of a dealer doing it for less than $100.00 and some charge a lot more. So here are my estimates and this is based upon me having actually done or at least HELPED do all these jobs. adjust valves w/new valve cover gaskets 4 hours install the infamous grommets we discussed earlier new plugs 1 hour fuel filter 1 hour flush/fill coolant 1 hour flush/change brake fluid and clutch fluid (had never been done before) 1 hour synch carbs 1 hour tighten/repack steering head 3 hours 2 new Dunlop E3's 2 hours That adds up to 14 hours of labor. Now some of you may think that the 4 hours to adjust valves and the 6 hours to repack the steering head bearings is excessive. I don't think so though and if this had been the RSV, you could increase the time on the steering head bearings to about 6 hours. Now I don't know what the standard hourly shop rate is now but I would guess that $75.00 per hour is fairly typical. So, 14 X 75.00 = $1050.00. Now add the price of two Dunlop Elite 3 tires, valve cover gaskets, spark plugs, brake and clutch fluid, coolant, grease and the typical shop supplies that they usually charge you for and you are quickly going to surpass the $1500.00 that you were charged. While I know that all this may sound high for those of us who do our own work, I don't think it is out of line at all for a dealer service. So Spyderhead, while there will obviously be some who don't agree with me on this, I think that if all those things were actually done, I think you got a pretty fair deal.

Iridium or Platinum will both work fine. I am running the Iridium in my '99 and have seen absolutely no difference in the way it performs or in fuel usage. They cost more and are supposed to last longer but to be honest, the Platinums last as long as I want to leave a set of plugs in. I would recommend that you save the money and just use the Platinums.
  25. Spyderhead, The fact that you have chosen to edit and delete all your posts indicate that you are upset with the responses that you have gotten. I haven't seen anybody attack you personally. It appears that the folks are just trying to help and let you know that you may have paid too much for the things that were done. I wish you would take the comments in the helpful manner that they are being offered. That being said, I too think that you may have paid a bit much but probably not that much more than most dealers would have charged you. Two of those things are big jobs. The valve adjustment and the steering head bearing repacks are time consuming. If both jobs were done properly, they could have spent as long as 8 - 10 hours on those two items. Multiply that by the average dealer shop rate and it will not be cheap. Add the price and installation of two Dunlop E3s and all the other things that you had done and I can easily see it coming to $1500.00 I'm sorry guys but I think you would find that if all that stuff was done and done correctly, it would come to that $1500.00 range most anywhere you take it. We are all just cost sensitive here because we do so much of our own work because we don't like paying that kind of money for service. I think to say that he was cheated or double charged is absolutely incorrect though.
