Just picked one up myself a couple of months ago. Mine was in great shape but will not idle good. From what i've been told the carbs are always an issue. Its a fun bike to with lots of power. For some good info go to xjbikes.com. You will enjoy riding the bike as much as your girlfriend.

How many miles did you have on it before it went out on you? I wonder if all the fuel pumps go's out about the same mileage? I had one go out on a Honda that i had befor the rsv. It went out a little over 9,000 miles. The dealer said he seen it befor about that many miles. -
While your in Townsend check out the Tuckalechee Caverns if you like checking out caves. It's not too fancy but a real nice tour. If you want a really cool ride take rt. 321 out of Townsend toward pigeon Forge. We toured that aera on one of our Honda Hoot visits, its a really nice place to ride.

Had the maxim out on the street after work today. Sure is a big difference from my rsv. It's like riding a mini bike but with much more power!!!

Today i purchased a 1982 Yamaha Maxim 750 for a run around bike. Its in great shape and needs very litte work. I plan to just give it a good clean up and maybe a dark red paint job. Is there any members out there that also own one that can give me any pro's or con's on the bike? i'm also going to be looking for a owners manual and a repair manual. Any tips would be helpful.

Saturday my wife and i rode up in michigans thumb to a bike rally called Born To Be WILD and spent the nite in Sebewaing michigan. We came home today in the affternoon so we could close up our pool. It was a beautiful weekend.:thumbsup2:

I am looking around for new tires for my rsv and came across the avon corbra which is a radial tire . Has anybody used the avon cobra tires on there bike? My plan is to buy avon tires anyway but i was wondering if the radials were ok on a rsv. :confused:

Sure looks like everybody had a great time, sorry to have mised it but i had to work on Saturday. A job came in late on friday so i got a call to come in to work. The quilt looks really good too. Great group foto!!!! -
Real nice looking trailer but that max. towing speed is alful low on the highway. I wonder if you could do at least 65mph safley?

Took my rsv to a bike nite tonight and had it put on a dyno to see what it would do. Its all stock but h-d mufflers. I was the only non harley in the group. It peaked at 76hp and 75 ft pd of trrque at 6000 rpms. Found out the rev limiter is set at 6000 rpms so it would go no farther. I was pleased with was they said. Its amazing how maney people don't know what a Venture is.

I used a 1 1/4 inch hole saw to take the baffles out of my harley mufflers.It has a different sound from the harleys but it's a good sound. not to loud but just enough.

Just got two stickers on my bike. I put my black venture sticker on the windshield and my silver one on the bottom half of my trunk. I'm not a sticker guy but I think these look ok!

Sure would like to come along but all ready have other plans like tickets to go see crosby, stills & nasn on sat. nite and a bike blessing sat. morning. When i heard a pinstriper was going to be there i really wanted to go. Maybe next year. :thumbsup2:

got mine today and already put them on. I put the black one on the windshield and the silver one on the bottom half of the trunk below the lock. My bike is black cherry and black so the silver looks good on the black.

I have a Zumo 550, used it today, disconnected it and when I plugged it in to return home, it would not turn on. Have tried charging it and nothing happens. Battery was at a full charge when it was turned off. This happened once before right after I bought it, took it back to Best Buy, they got it working but wouldn't tell me what they did to get it working again. Has anybody else had this problem. It is only one year old 5/25.

I also bought mine from cartune with no proplems. It took about 2 weeks to get. It cost me $87 us dollars.
