Generally a wet cell battery will go about 3 years. It all depends on how many discharges your giving it. With the reverse on the Wing a new battery might not last as long.... just depends on how many times you use reverse.....

I've talked to the powers to be at Odyssey and they say that the non MJ will be fine in the 1stGens. If you call and talk to the secretary she'll go by the book. But common sense tells you that if they doen't need the MJ for the 2ndGen, you won't need it for the 1st either. The PC680 and the MJ have been back ordered until next April, so picking one up from the Ebay seller for $103 delivered is a pretty good deal if it's a fresh battery since that price is less than the 2006 dealer cost for the PC680MJ. We'll probably do the group buy again sometime in late April.

I bought a black Piggy backer, and then went out and then bought a bike to match it??? Is there something wrong with this picture??.....

You might want to check your mailbox Mike.... They were shipped via USPS Flat Rate Priority from Odyssey on Tuesday the 22nd. It generally takes around three days to make it coast to coast. Weather may be a factor in slowing it down a bit, but if you don't get it by monday give me a shout.... :)

I'd like to add another bit of info about Venoms. Last year while riding along the levee road in the sacramento delta I went into a blind right sweeper a little hot and the bike started to climb toward the center line. Coming the other way was a Jeep Cherokee that had actually drifted over the center line and on to my side of the road. It all happened in a nanosecond, but If I hadn't shifted my weight and put the front tire way up on the chicken strip I probably wouldn't be here typing this post.... I firmly believe the Avons saved my bacon by being as tacky as they were. A hard rubber compound, and the front tire would have lost it's bite. I don't take blind sweepers agressively any longer.....

The local electronics store used to have a big box of about every size belt known to God. I used to take the broken belt in and find something close to the original. Nice thing about those nyopreme belts is they stretch to fit within reason.... I've fixed a lot of old tape decks, and VCR's that way.

The last time my wife and I were there we went to a mall out on the end of the strip to kill a little time. I wonder if this is the one you heard about????

I'm thinking about doing a 10-14 day trip up through Seattle and into Canada, east through Calgary and Banff, then back into the U.S. through Glacier. Plan on visiting bro. in Kalispell MT, and daughter in Shoshone ID before heading back into Oregon, south to Reno, and then back to the barn. You can have the artic circle and those 1000 mile days. I'm going to take lots of pics and sight see. Going to yank a trailer and do a little camping while I'm at it. The time frame is still open, but I thought I might try to time it for Street Vibrations in Reno which would be in mid September.

I work out of my home. But..... I built my business from the ground up. If you're thinking about one of those companies, think again. The only one making any money is the company running the ad. Find something you know a lot about, and design a biz around it, then open up an Ebay store in lue of creating a web presence. It'll cost you a few bucks, but the exposure is the best on the net. When people ask me what I do, I tell them I buy things and I sell things. The very basics of business...

OK, I didn't mean for this subject to start a debate on arms control, always a hotly debated issue, but I can see it drifting in that direction. I was genuinely curious as to how many riders actually carry firearms while they are touring. From the responses it seems like there are a lot more than I had anticipated. Maybe what I should have done was to post a yea or nay poll? Before this thread gets out of control I ask that we go back to the original question. A simple yes or no will suffice..... Many Thanks.

Hello my name is Jack. I suffer from MBD, but with the help of MBDAA I've been able to deal with it. Someday perhaps when the medical industry discovers a cure, I'll be free of the desease, but until then, with the help of MBDAA, I'll learn to live with it.....

Gerald, Here's something to think about. The paint scheme isn't OEM. Non OEM plastic doesn't bring anywhere near what a clean piece with factory paint will bring on Ebay. And that's where most of the value is on a VR. Nobody wants to buy one piece and go thru the hastle of painting to match what they already have. Part it out and you're going to have a garage full of bits and pieces for a long time...... Sell it complete and be done with it. Sorry guys, I had to say it....

What's the difference????

I didn't say nuttin'............

I noticed on another thread that there were a couple of members who carry firearms while riding. Even into Canada. I'm curious if this practice happens a lot or is it just a few??? I do have firearms in the house, but don't think I'd be inclined to carry while touring.

Throw a custom at it..... http://www.cast-aways.com/images/chopper%20(Small).jpg

I agree with Eck. For I think 35¢ the manufacture gets a sticker they can paste on the helmet. It's up to the manufacturers to build a helmet that meets the requirements. Sorta like letting the fox loose in the hen house... One of these days a sharpie ambulance chasing lawyer is going to pick up on this and take a couple of manufacturers to court on liability/fraud issues. Until that happens things ain't gonna change.

When you play a game inside of a freezer anything can happen...and it did. Like Freebird I didn't have a 'team' in either game, but I thought both games were great. Wonder what's going to happen with the super bowl when it's played inside a cozy dome???
