  1. I think I would remove one caliper, check for the squeak, then the other. Maybe its just brake drag??
  2. Don & I plan to make it at least as far as Wichita Falls, maybe a little closer, but probably not all the way to Borger Friday night.
  3. I'm pretty sure we'll cut North at Claude. So, If Bullet brings his jack, we won't need mine, right?
  4. I'll bring my bike lift unless someone else will have one there.
  5. Now Eddy, take it easy on them Harley guys. It might offend them if they see they can't blow a heavy metric tourer away with their sporty twin cammed over priced American (some Japanese components) made cruiser that they paid way too much for (redundant, I know). Ok, I'm over it now, I just get fed up with my motorcyclist Harley brother's attitude (doesn't show, does it?). Having ranted, I still like them (bikes & riders). Stay safe, bro. You might tangle with someone who'll do more than show you his finger. Ponch
  6. The lighting on the white face gauges is not that bright. If it is, you can install a small resistor in the light circuit. My tach light is blue and BRIGHT. I will install a resistor in that circuit.
  7. Welcome, Emory. There are quite a few members here on both Generations of Ventures who are either weight or height challenged. If you are patient and take time to adjust to your new bike, you will be fine. I suggest getting the DVD "RideLike A Pro" and practicing the techniques shown in the video. http://www.ridelikeapro.com/ There is a loaner on the board somewhere, or I can loan you mine, but I suggest you buy your own and review it from time to time. Good Luck! and :BLUE: Ponch
  8. Thanks
  9. They are very good gauges from what I hear. They mount with a ring nut instead of a "U" clamp that the SunPro uses. They will still work with the gauge plate, but the holes in the dash have to be opened a little more and the brackets have to be attached via sheet metal screws instead of mounting to the studs on the back of the SunPro's. I haven't installed the Equus setup yet, but Freebird and Rick Butler have and both said it wasn't hard to figure out.
  10. I ruined the lowers on mine with scrubbing bubbles. They fogged up really bad. I used some Kit brand Scratch Out to get the fog off. I am interrested in the spray tint, if I knew where to find it.
  11. We've been on a few cruizes. So far the one we enjoyed best was with Holland America. The vessels are older but were in way better shape than the newest one we were on. We've been on several Carnival Cruizes that were very good entertainment wise, but were not so good in as far as the condition of the ship and the level of service you were given. We did an inside passage Alaskan cruize on Princess that was good. Lots of wildlife (Aquatic, that is) to see, the glaciers were amazing, and debarking in Seward, Alaska, we took about a three hour scenic train ride to Anchorage. Stops in Ketchikan and Skagway were great. Out of Skagway, we took the Alaskan gold rush train up into the Yukon of Canada. How they built this railway is incomprehensible. The thing rides right on the edge of a very steep cliff through the mountains. This is something worth seeing. We would do it again (on any cruize line). It depends on pricing whether we could afford to do it next year. If you've never been on a cruize, lets just say if you don't get enough to eat, its your fault. I highly recommend the Inside Passage cruize. Ponch
  12. Yup, they'll work. I don't think HF offers a volt meter, though. All I found was the amp/water/oil setup. I prefer that setup myself as I already have a digital volt meter. Randy, come on down, We'll leave the light on for ya.
  13. The middle three pics are polished Aluminum. Don's is the fifth. He painted it to match his dash. Good job, too. It's really not that hard. I've been told the instructions are pretty clear. If after receiving the kit, you are unsure about it, you can call me with questions.
  14. For instructions go to the tech forum, [ame=http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=19119]Installing Gauges - VentureRider.Org[/ame] I include instructions for installing the gauge plate. I use Goose's instructions for the gauge hookup.
  15. Thanks a bunch!
  16. I can rattle can paint one in Gloss black. They look great on Midnight models. Just indicate "Black" on your order. I should have a batch ready next week. I won't post the ad until I have some ready to ship. Buddy, you should always have a venture of one generation or another. Got to keep life interresting. You're welcome. I will have to look into the Equus gauges some more. They require a modification to the installation instructions that I have not performed yet. They cost a little more as well. But, they shure look great.
  17. Thanks, I'll bring it with me and let's see what happens.
  18. Watch yer mail next week. Would this work out? Size is 1 7/8 http://www.denniskirk.com/jsp/produc...fCatId=&mmyId= I have the Drag Specialties mini tach. Unfortunately, it measures about 2" at the O.D. of the bezel. That would work but it would overhang the top and bottom of the plate. Also, all three 1 1/2" gauges butt up against each other and just fit within the length of the mount plate. So, you would have a tough time fitting the tach in with two other gauges. June would work, the first half of September is still August to me. If I were headed south from Canuck land, I would choose early June, the end of September or October. This is about a three hour job by yourself, two with friends, eight with lots of friends.
  19. I think I will check the light pattern before I tear into it. Thanks for the suggestion, Buddy
  20. Yup, it was lil ol me. James, I will probably install it in a couple of weeks. Ponch
  21. Ps. they still hold up well in the rain. I think it was you who asked a while back.
  22. ... ol' Sleeperhawk can help ya out.
  23. Thanks, Giggers No problem, I looked at polished Stainlees Steel. Boy, is that stuff expensive!
  24. You need glasses, Deb. Didn't notice any old ladies where we were.
  25. I'm thinking about making a panel to mount on top of the existing tank panel. After looking at Guthdaddy's TD, I think it's dooable.
