Thanks, Deb. She's ok, for a Texas gal. We enjoyed you guys too. I was afraid Dane would be bored, but he seemed fine. Here's a few more pics. Hey, Deb. Upload it to Photobucket. It's free.

Hope she gets over it quick, she's been down too long to have to endure a stomach virus as well.

I used to bundle up in rain gear when it looked like rain. Now, as long as I'm not in stop & go traffic, I don't bother. If you're going freeway speeds, at least on a G2, you don't get very wet. I assume its the same on a G1 or just about any touring bike. We went though Denver a couple weeks ago and the rain was blowing sideways and cold. Never got wet. Ponch

I switched mine to the right and like it. Haven't had any trouble fighting the disc. I guess it depends on the type of gauge and/or filler nozzle you use. Ponch

We'll be there.

Don said he was planning to leave the Flying J at 7:30. I figure that would put you guys in Beaumont about 9:30 or so. I guess we'll be there about 9 ish.

We'll be in East Tx Friday night. Plan to meet up with anyone from Houston at the China Border Restaurant parking lot at the Southeast corner of I-10 @ College Street in Beaumont. Ponch

It was great to get to know you guys. We had some things in common with just about everyone. I related to the whole group in their desire to travel great lengths to meet with members of the Venturerider.org community. I related especially with Grandpagak. We have struggled with our weight our whole lives and are finally getting a hold of the situation. Special thanks to Teri & Irv for their insight into elderly care. See you on the road. Ponch

Do you turn the fuel off...
Ponch replied to yamadawg's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
but, I realized my truck doesn't have reserve and I never run out of gas in it. You have the count down feature, the gauge itself and a nifty little idiot light to remind you. I do turn the petcock valve occassionally just to keep it freed up. -
Is fuel pump really needed?

Now that's rare! -
Hope to see ya again some time.

You just have to mount the new pump on a plate or secure it otherwise and plumb the pump similar as shown. I like it because you can buy these pumps at most auto parts stores on the road, while I'll bet that no Yammi dealer stocks one. -

all the time, reserve. -
I swear, you can count the bugs in LA's teeth. Or, how about the Good, the Bad and the Ugly? (Assign the titles as you see fit)

If interrested in an after market pump, check this thread. I've got about 5000 miles on it now. [ame=http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=40359]Can't Keep bike running? ANY HELP - VentureRider.Org[/ame] Post #13 -
I made a long boring post on another thread already. Had Fun!

Well guys and gals, we finally made it home about Midnight, Sunday. Cody was great! It was great to put faces to names of so many friends. Thanks to Jack, Dave & Jan for keeping us all busy and planning the event. Thanks also to Kurt for the planning and arrangements you made. Yellowstone was awesome and Beartooth was amazing. Nothing like a 900 lb. dirt bike crossing a mountain pass through gravel and mud holes at crawling speeds. We all did fine, except Owl who had mechanical problems which caused a slow speed spill. He was ok, but pride was wounded. We were glad Grandpagak was following in his truck. The Buffalo Bill Museum was great. We could spend several days there. The guys and gals at the Yammie dealer were gracious hosts. The burgers & brats were quite tasty. Of course LilBit had to try out a few rides that were just her size. The Gunfight at the Irma Hotel was pretty neat. None of our guys were involved. We left Cody Thursday morning headed for Spearfish Canyon and the Black Hills. Never made Spearfish. It was getting late, so we headed for Custer, SD instead. If you ever have the opportunity to tour the Crazy Horse memorial, do it. We went to the after dark laser show on the memorial and went back the next morning to tour the museum. We left there and went through the Needles Highway and Iron Mountain road. What a road!! The views of Mt. Rushmore through the tunnels are great. (No pic) The sign at the entrance said "sound horn before entering tunnel" (one car at a time). There was a group of bikers standing near the entrance to one of the tunnels. I "sounded" my horn(s). One of them jumped and I think one of the others left a little surprise on the pavement. All in all we made seven states including Texas, where we live. Believe me, you can drive all day and not leave Texas. 4000 miles. We set a new record for LilBit. The longest trip LilBit has made in a day previous was 605 miles. We did 706 miles Sunday. Glad everyone made it home ok. Ponch & LilBit
