Picture this if you can. I know it will be hard to see in your brain because of your bike, but here goes. I like to pull a big wheelie on my 2nd Gen. and pop up on that flat bed rig and ride it to the front and pop another big wheelie and jump on the cab and then goose it and fly right in front of that big rig on my rear wheel. What a rush these 2nd Gen give ya.

Ok Larry, We will be there at 9:00am at the TA Service Center at EXIT 15 off I-75. I am bringing a friend named Bill. I would like to eat at Denny's but what ever most people want will be ok. If it is raining my friend will stay home, but I will still plan on coming. I have reservations at the Oberlin Inn. See you all real soon.

Just checking to see if this idea and time frame is still a go at Exit 15 in Michigan?

I just did mine again last week. When the carbs are out of sink the sticks will be moving all over the place. You won't believe the difference when in tune. Very slight movement at a steady RPM. Be patient and just move the screws a little at a time.

Well Lonna, I have yet to try your cheese cake, so I will try all of them if I get the chance. Fat chance on that one happening. It will be good to have some fun and get out of town. I sure am looking forward to it. I was getting all excited last week thinking it was this week-end. See ya soon.

Hi Rick, Just making sure you have me down for "two seats" (1) bike 04 Venture. I will be heading down Friday instead of just Saturday. I had emailed you and asked if you had ever done a DRZ-400 before. Never got an answer back. If you can I will bring the seat with me. It won't be long till we see a lot of folks in Ohio.

I will try and meet up with you at that time also. What is at exit 15? Gas station? Food place yum, yum.?

Great days in the morning!

At the end of the video, it says Cass Lake, Michigan. He put all those screws in the tire from inside out. Fun Fun Fun.

:thumbsup2:I will put a note on my desk right now to pray for wisdom, strength, and a peace that only God can give. Great idea.

Good for you. Sounds like a good time with free tickets. The only thing racing around here are the snow flakes. The finial "TWO" tonight here in Detroit. Go Michigan State!

You could always cover it with black plastic so you don't have to look at it,or trade it in for a Goldwing. -
This was a good post to remind us to check our tires. On the Dunlop tire sight this is what they stated, Sidewall Treatment http://www.dunlopmotorcycle.com/tiretips/sidewall.jpgUse a mild soap solution to clean sidewalls, white striping or lettering, and rinse off with plain water. Never apply any other material, cleaners or dressings, to enhance sidewall appearance. These may degrade rubber and remove inherent ozone cracking/weather checking resistance. I have Avons on the front and back. I just inspected my tires after reading this post. The front tire I put on in May of 07. It was manufactured in Aug. of 06. I have 13,850 miles on it with not (1) crack. The rear was installed in June of 07. manufactured in June of 05."Older that the front" I have 12,000 miles on it. No cracks not (1) The tire tread looks great.

Spring has sprung around here too. Great to have the warmer weather. -
I saw a Mid Night Venture heading North on M-24 in Lake Orion Michigan Saturday morning at 9:15 am. 21 deg. On the back of his jacket was U.S.M.C with the date underneath. Anybody from this sight? Sure was a nice week-end.

Just the other day when we did the swing arm on my DRZ400 and installing it back together. I asked my nephew what the torque was suppose to be on the nut. He said, "real tight, that's how I do mine". I looked it up in the book and it was only 57 ft. lbs. That is not real tight! He probably crushed the thrust washers that are on both sides of his bike. It pays to read what the torque is suppose to be. I only have one wrench for medium range.

When something like that happens, I always say. "Just getting to know my bike" I have hit the rear brake to hard before in a sudden need to stop and it is not fun to have the rear slide to the right side. Just getting to know her.

I took off work early yesterday, “no work” and went home and started a fire in the wood stove in the garage. I called my son and nephew over to see if they wanted to hang out while I worked on my bike. We took apart the swing arm on the 2001 Suzuki DRZ 400. It only has 3800 miles on it but I bought it used last year and thought I had better check it out. It needed to be greased but was not’t real bad yet. It had been raining out most of the day and on the cool side. The wood stove warmed the garage up real nice and it wasn't long we were in tee shirts. My son brought over his 13 week old Labradoodle pup. He has only had it for three days. Cute pup, very mellow. I went in the house and got a cast iron skillet and some Venison steaks out of the freezer. Put some butter in the pan and set it on top of the wood stove. It was not’t long and the aroma was starting to smell very good. We enjoyed each others company for another hour or so just setting around the wood stove and enjoying some Venison. The time was good. We need more of it. Just sharing a good time that didn't cost anything.
