    Shift, what's that? I've gotten lazy. Get into 5th gear by 25 mph and ride? I'm probably not quite that bad but I have taken it down to 20 to 25 at some corners on level ground and didn't shift. Of course I wasn't trying to accelerate too hard. Riding last Saturday I went around curves in 5th that would have required 3rd or maybe 2nd on the Venture. I've had to adjust my riding style too. I've pulled away from a stop in 2nd quite comfortably a couple of times. Dennis

    Both systems seem to be about equal to me. I think we get a bit more wind noise on the wing, along with more wind everywhere. Dennis

    I'm central KY near Lexington. There have been a lot of storms around us but so far we've just had a lot of rain. Gonna ride tomorrow though. Dennis

    With some regret, I transferred the title to my '07 Venture to it's new owner this afternoon. He got a great bike. I feel certain that Dave will be joining us here on vr.org. I've changed my profile to remove the Venture from my info and I guess next I'll have to change my user name. Dennis

    I just added trunk and saddlebag molding with LED lights to the Wing. I hope they can see me now. Dennis

    Not sure what you are connecting the mic to, but if it is a GPS I'm pretty sure you'll have to have the input set to AUX for the audio system to receive the audio out from the GPS. Some GPS transmit over an fm frequency but that would be no different than setting it AUX. You still would only hear the GPS. Dennis

    We bought about the same time but I can't seem to get any miles on mine, about 1100. The rain just won't seem to stop around here and I was out of town on business for a week. What color did you get? Dennis

    We've been to Vegas before and have been up and down the strip and Fremont St. However, this trip we'll only have the one night there and my wife wants to take in a show. We've seen Siegfried and Roy (before the attack) and a couple of dancing girl shows. Just trying to figure out what's out there now to see. It's been several years since we were there.     We're going to stop in Las Vegas for one night on our way back from the west coast this summer. We want to take in a show that night and are not sure what to see. We are thinking about Celine Dion or Terry Fator. If you could only see one show what would it be? Dennis

    I installed the F4+4 windshield this evening and took it out for a few miles. I ran it up to 95 and the wind buffeting around my head is gone. It feels great at my normal cruise speed of 70 to 75 so I really don't think I'll need to add anything else unless my wife decides otherwise. That is a big windshield. I'll probably lose a few MPG with it but that's OK as long as I'm comfortable. Dennis

    My wife complained of the vibration if I was slightly lugging the engine. Say you are running 50 to 55 mph and come to a grade and as the throttle rolls on there will be more of a vibration and it really shows up in the backrest. She would feel it before me and she would let me know when to downshift. Most anytime below 60 to 65 under acceleration she would feel it. Just try dropping down a gear when it happens. Dennis

    I was wondering about the Cobras. It seems on some of the wing boards people aren't too pleased with the OEM Dunlops which mine has. I'll likely be needing new tires around the middle of July. I haven't been overly impressed with E3s on the Venture and had planned to go back to Avons on it if I had kept it. While I didn't like the OEM Bridgestones on my Venture, it seems that quite a few wing riders do like Bridgestones. Maybe I'll start a tire thread for Wings. Dennis

    I decided on the F4+4 from F4 Customs. The VR discount saved me the next 3 years VR dues. Dennis

    Dang that seems expensive. I haven't priced tires for it yet. Since I mount my own I would hope I could buy a set for $300. Dennis

    I thought the Venture was expensive to get set up the way I wanted. This new Wing is going to get even more expensive. After ordering a windshield and a few more things from Wingstuff I've already invested about $1500 in stuff and there are a few more things on my shopping list. Fortunately my wife doesn't watch the bank account too closely. However, it did cost me an evening in Coldwater Creek. That was about as expensive. Dennis

    OK, made the decision today and ordered the F4+4 windshield. I'm going after this wind problem in steps. First the shield and if that doesn't fix it I'll try adding hand wings. I'll keep you posted on how the shield does. Dennis

    Wow, I was all set to order the F4+4 shield today. After looking at the Vstream the choice isn't so clear now. I guess I need to do more research. Dennis
