I dont see that in the 2011 line up. I see the Stratoliner Deluxe, but not the Royal Star.
-
Probably trailering it.

He's probably not asking enough. If it's in rideable condition as is and the paint and seat are clean, it's probably worth closer to 2,000.

Glad to hear you're mostly OK.

Whole different kind of heat. Nice dry heat instead of a sauna.

What's the point of any motorcycle with more then 200cc. The fastest speed limit in the States is 80mph and that's in Texas. Most 2 lane roads are 55mph. -
It's like the batman bike, but only dumber.

um, do you mean a 194 bulb. The 198 is a double contact base bulb, not a wedge. I don't have a 1st gen so I don't know what they use. 198 http://edge.shop.com/ccimg.shop.com/230000/239000/239003/products/317217830__150x150__.jpg 194 http://t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:Jk-mhtLR_gytFM:http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b342/Ultimate157/Wrangler/Lights/194_Bulb.jpg&t=1

I took mine off. I don't like them. I think they clutter up the front end and put an unnecessary draw on the electrical system. I picked up a turn signal bar from a member on here, Bugfish69. If you take off the driving light bar and reinstall the factory T/S bar, you'll also need 2 "flasher dampners". They're 2 little rubber pieces that hold the lights in the bar. http://venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=27745&highlight=turn+signal

Got stranded today
flb_78 replied to fisheyes's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Sounds like it's something in the driveline. Possibly the u-joint or the splines on driveshaft and the final drive. -
I did mine between the connector and the switch because I did not want to cut the main harness. You could splice into those wires anywhere on the bike, but I did not want any repairs in the main harness that could later fail because of corrosion.

wait...what? Just splice a wire into the red wire and run that to the toggle. Splice a wire into the blue/brown and run that to the toggle.

HOW DO I CHANGE MY OIL? Tour Deluxe
flb_78 replied to blamarche's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
I also change the gear oil with every oil change or at least every other. Gear oil is cheap. Every time I change it, it's dark and smells burnt. -
The Venture/RSTD has to be the easiest bike to do your own oil changes on. 1 plug on the bottom, 1 filter on the front, both are easily accessable.

The Chevron may also have some additives in it. I know in the Amarillo area, almost all of the gas and diesel came out of the same pipes. One could drive by and see every gas station's truck sitting in line waiting. The only difference was what additives were added to it when it was pumped into the tanker.
