    my theory is because it is the only one that moves.the outer brake pad is set, and the inner does all the traveling. might not be correct, but it sounds good to me! lol just jt

    i like the license plate holder Jack, but how do you propose to put those rectangular inserts into the plastic side cover? i made "TX VENTURE " a set of polished stainless inserts for his MKll, but i don't know if he has ever installed them yet.will be watching this thread, to see what the "project" looks like when finished. just jt

    my MkII, is still up on blocks! i have had a new set of E3's for about three months now. just been too danged hot to get all enthused about pulling the wheels off, or riding , for that matter. i have been tinkering around with the honda cb 900 custom, though.i have to say, the "touring bags" are the FUGLIEST bags i have ever seen.they look like "Samsonite" luggage! lol just jt

    steve, i just went out and checked to make sure. there are NO vacuum lines attached DIRECTLY to the carbs on a 1300. the only vac. line that is present connects directly BELOW the carb on the left front, where it mounts to the intake boot.all other vacuum ports are blanked off with rubber caps. hope we are on the same page. just jt

    My brother , Ron, had to be life flighted to Corpus Christi , yesterday. had a pretty severe heart attack. Dr.s there did the "rotor rooter trick"and installed a stint. today he is just being kept for observation and should go home tomorrow. the other bad news is "the rattlesnake" won't be riding OR driving for a long time! just jt

    went to AUTO-ZONE today to get a can of sea foam. price has DOUBLED in the past 3 months! now paying $11.78, per can! needless to say, i have switched to "Coleman camp fuel"a gallon costs about the same as a pint of sea foam. just jt

    hope this post don't get buried too quickly. recently i discovered a weight loss regimen, without even looking for one. i weigh 128 pounds, so i don't NEED to lose any weight. if you are curious, do a google on "honey bee pollen"and read EVERY word you can find . what it did to me, was cause me NOT to be hungry. your individual mileage may vary! lol just jt

    i "eat" a teaspoon full of honey EVERY DAY, morning and night. i also drink a mixture of "honey bee pollen" and orange juice daily. i'm going to have my cholesterol checked again in a couple of weeks, to see if there is any truth to the claims. just jt

    i just got a call from the head parts man at the local Yamaha dealership. he had a question that he COULD NOT answer, for a prospective customer. the question was "do the new ventures have a reverse?". can you believe that? just jt.

    i changed my '86 starter clutch out a few months ago, and DIDN'T have to drain the oil. oil that drips out of the cover , is minimal, if you do it the way Squeeze suggested. have fun, and don't forget to re-punch the bolts. they WILL back out on their own, and you WILL have to do the job a second time!lol just jt

    can you get maple syrup from a "mesquite tree"? if not, then i guess i will have to settle for the "store bought" variety. i agree. ain't nothin better on pancakes. just jt
