  1. NOW. i have already read ALL the pros and cons, about car tires on a mc! don't really want to read any more of that. what i WANT to know, is, WILL a car tire work on a FIRST GEN?????has anyone found one that will fit? i don't ride long distances to search for "twisties". i don't ride hard! i would rather take it slow, and easy,(that way i can say i went there and enjoyed it)and get the most miles for my buck. MY top speed, is usually 5 mph, LOWER than the posted speed limit. what i want is a long lasting tire, not a "sticky, peg scraping, sport rider" type of tire! oh, by the way, i am NOT the only member to have asked this question. other queries, got lost in the "flames". just jt:confused24:
  2. working , Friday, Saturday, and Monday! got another "KIDDE" live fire training trailer, that has to be delivered in 5 weeks! thats 14 weeks worth of work, in 5 weeks!!! ain't gonna happen! the first one , was shipped to "cream river", new jersey?????????, LAST WEEK. YA'LL enjoy, THE LONG WEEKEND, AND remember WHAT it's all for. just jt

  5. don't mean to butt in here, mike, but to answer your question, NO, marvel mystery oil is more of an "upper cylinder lubricant". sea foam is more of a "gunk "cleaner. just jt
  6. hey , brad. some of those "little buggers", were over 6 feet long! most were in the 2 to 3 foot range. lol just jt
  7. these pictures were taken on "mother's day" this month. the location is "matqagorda island, texas", just about 40 miles up the road from me. in fact it is only about 3 miles across the bay, from the "warriors wekend", gathering place. YES folks warm weather came early this year, and with it comes the danger of snakes. i have personally seen these guys swimming from island to mainland, although NOT in these large numbers. going to the beach, stay alert, and stay back away from the "dunes". just jt
  8. mike . one of the GOOD things, i guess, is that i don't owe anyone. what i own, ain't the best, but it's ALL paid for, thank god. back to work, to keep the "cushion" from going completely flat! lol just jt
  9. mike ! you wouldn't recognize a "good bike", if it ran smooth over ya! that's why you are still on that old blue and white thing!:stirthepot: :rotf: just jt
  10. today, jeannie ate her first solid food, in almost three weeks! all four of her doctors, told her she is definitely a "diabetic", with no diabetic tendencies. she has lost 42 pounds! about half of which, was fluid. down to a lean ,mean, 151 pounds! lol her lymphoma, appears to be "only in the bone marrow", and easily treated, with a high success rate! Dammn, i'm happy! i should have planned on going back to work a week ago! thank you all again, and again, for all the prayers, good thoughts, and most of all , the pm's ,phone calls, and moral support! just jt
  11. Mike! CONGRATULATIONS on finding a new sweet heart! that is great news. now about selling your scoot - - we MAY have to take a poll on that. you know how long that will take! lol just jt:happy34:

  17. hey squid boy! i want t see those "polished diamond plate" wings, when you get done with 'em. i am thinking about making a set out of some "mirrored stainless", that i have. might catch and reflect TOO much sunlight, i don't know yet. just jt
  18. lmao! brad ONLY you would notice that! i honestly never noticed it 'till you mentioned it. i did find out the cost of the old bike. would you believe a guy paid $100,000.00, for that bike ,,,delivered to his door , of course! lol oh this is only one of about 40 vintage bikes he has managed to buy over the past 15 or 20 years. just jt
  19. Mike, it's a 1937 , brough, pronounced "bruff". then and now, it is considered the "rolls royce, of motorcycles"! did a little googlin, to find that out! each bike was hand fitted, twice! once for fit. and once after painting. the "ss80", was sold with a written guarantee, that it had been ridden at least 80 miles per hour! lots of neat stuff, associate with these bikes. LOTS of race victories. out of 400 or so that were produced, about 304, are still up and running. 1st gen? i hope mine survives that long. just jt
  20. i never even noticed that a change was or had , taken place. i still log in and out , with the same bookmark, that i have always used. i will admit, though, i was "sitting around waiting for the house to fall in on us"! you did an excellent job, Don. very smooth transition, for me. just jt
