  1. I am not one to really ask for much for myself, but it has come time that I will require some higher support. I was was doing stupid things thinking I was 20 again about a month ago. Anyway, I took a bad fall, and dislocated my shoulder. That was an easy fix, no major issues there, but I also dislocated my collar bone from the breast plate. That is the hard part. It does not want to heal, and the pain is making me a little more crazy than normal as it is constant. I have an appointment with specialist next week to go over what ever options there may be. I hate to ask for myself, but I believe if you could please send a few prayers my way, this will help me to heal and hopefully keep me off of the operating table..... Thank you, Rob
  2. Folks, I am in Minnesota for our semi-annual sales meeting. This is always a busy week as we have meeting from about 8:00 in the morning till usually about 9:00 at night. I usually manage to check my messages and etc. in the morning and later in the evening but just don't have a lot of time this week. If you send me a message or a request, please understand that the reply times are a bit delayed right now.
  3. Was ready to fly to the east coast Friday night, for Saturday pick up of my trike..not ready Apparently it was held up in customs, due to the timber used to make the crate luckily I had allowed a week in case of hiccups. Now we'll be cutting it fine to deliver to the shipping agent Wow, what a day!!
  4. We have been watching the weather non stop for weeks... we have been averaging only a day or so a week that is decent for a ride(keep in mind I am more of a fair weather rider). Been talking with Rick Butler about getting his mod done to my seat. Checked the weather and rain all week but Weds. So I tear out of work early and get it shipped today. After I got home and goofed off a bit I pull up the weather and BAM no rain on the forecast all week! High of 72 on Fri. DOH!!! Story of my life! Now I'm wishing for rain..haha Frank

  6. I just did a search on CL for to double check what I found last week. Generally there are always 10-15 bikes that will pop up on a CL Google search nation wide. This morning 3. Same thing last week. Wow!!... Things are sloooow... MOF locally between the SF and SAC CL's there is always been yamaha venture activity. This last month it has been deader than a door nail. I realize it's still winter, but out here in the land of 'Dry Rain' it's always been intertaining. What's going on?? :cody

  8. again. just had the same last week. This one looks even uglier than last week. The big radar map shows it stretching from New Orleans to Pittsburg. I raced the front edge of it home an hour ago and got hit with a few drops of rain and some wind gusts. Looks like all H is going to break out from the weather map. probably thats whats happening from Huntsville to Nashville right now. Got the bikes under the carport and a blanket thrown over the car.

    Vertigo

And I ain't talkin' about the movie. Six months ago a buddy of mine sold his bike because he had constant vertigo. In fact, he recently found out he has Meniere's disease. The fact he had to sell his bike was a hard thing for him to do, and I even kidded him about how big a WUSS he was. A week ago Saturday I woke feeling FINE. I sat down and turned my computer on and my world TURNED UPSIDE DOWN! My vision went black and the room spun so hard I had to hold the desk. It let up a little bit after about 30 seconds, but I was DIZZY and unbalanced the rest of the day. On Sunday it was worse, and I was bouncing off walls down the hallway. Last MondayI slept all day long and finally called my wife and told her I had to go to the doctor (I haven't been to the doctor in a very long time)...and even longer since I had any kind of wellness screen. But, she drove me to the doctor and he explained the possiblities to me. It could be blood pressure, an inner ear infection, loose "rocks" (seriously), and maybe even Meniere's disease! Hestarted me on Steroids, Antibiotics and Valium. My wife took me back home and I began my medications. I called into work the next day (first time in 5 years) and had my wife TAKE ME TO WORK on Wednesday. By Thursday I was well enough to drive myself by car (although that was scary...still not focusing right) and then on Friday...same thing, but driving was a little better. My goal was to RIDE yesterday. I rode approximately 400 feet and then turned around and came home. I was gonna ride today, and while I am better (maybe 90%)...something told me NOT to ride, so I didn't. I do plan on riding this week later in the week. My reason for sharing this story is let everyone know that something "seemingly" so minor can be a major impact on your life. My guess is that many of you that read this will have already experienced this and just not written about it...but if you've ever had this problem, you will NOT forget it. It is NOT unusual for older adults (I'm 55) to have an occasional bout with vertigo (I didn't know this)...but there are treatments for it. I PROMISE I won't ever call anyone a WUSS ever again for not being able to ride. Gettin' old is a BEOTCH!!

    gone fishin

Hi Ho HI Ho its off to Disney I go. Got the Grandkids for the week (6 and7) and going to introduce them to Mickey and maybe Seaworld if we've got the time! See ya in a week!!!
  12. Do you trust your bike?? If you took it on a 3000 mile ride, do you have confidence that it is in good enough condition to make the trip?? In '07 I took my 24 year old '83VR on a two week trip and had total confidence that it would serve me well. How do you feel about yours??
  13. I am going to start here and then go to the rally section. During our ride Tuesday, Lady Linda and I started talking about a little vacation get together this summer. We have thrown out a couple of suggestions about Asheville and have gotten some response. At this moment, I am thinking about taking the week of June 4th thru 12th and taking the little camper and spending the first part of that week maybe camping at several different campsites. Then about Wednesday or Thursday, pulling into Asheville. Rather than trying to put together any kind of rally, since this is the year for Vogal, I am just thinking that I may just say we are planning on being there for some camping and riding and if anyone wants to join us, come on down. This is really not much different than usual, as Asheville has always been a pretty low key event, but I would like to see if there is any interest. The main thing is, if we load up the little camper, we will have to pack as light for camping as possible. If we are going to spend the last part of the week at Asheville, and we have some interest in others joining us, then I will set the camper and make a trip across the mountain back to Johnson City to bring all the extra stuff, like the big canopy, bunches of chairs and all that other stuff that we can't seem to do without. Anyway, got to go for now and we will see what others are interersted in. Thanks, RandyA
  14. Anybody else planning a Spring Break? My wifes favorite place on Earth...is Hatteras Island and the little community of Rodanthe.Call it a Spring Celebration. We are celebrating 30 years of marriage later this fall, and last month we paid in full with Cash the remaining balance on our 4 acre Camp. I had originally planned a week off in April to cleanup around the Camp but the wife is between Jobs right now and needs a break so we negotiated a special rate deal yesterday on the same house I'm renting in June.Maybe I should just leave her down there for 2 months.Hey Mini could you put TROUBLE up for 2 months? H.I. April 9th for a week.
  15. So after reading what seems like HUNDREDS of reviews of both wired and wireless comm systems, and trying several out at dealers and bike shows, I have ordered a Starcom1 Advanced unit with two headset kits from ShangoRider.com. Supposed to be here later this week, so I will put it on the RTSD next week (and take some photos) and report back once I have it all hooked up. This way, the wife and I can finally make fun of people in traffic without having to yell so loud that they might hear us.
  16. I'm trying to modify one of my excel sheets but can't figure what formula(s) to use. I track regional fuel costs on a weekly basis for billing purposes. I want to be able to insert the first monday of each year and have the formula fill each subsequent monday within the respective month. (More specific I need the first Monday after the 25th of each month which means in some years that would be a December date) My problem lies in the fact that some months will have 5 and others only 4 such dates. This is what I have so far and I want to replace the "week #" with an actual date. 12/26/10 week 1 3.012 3.256 January week 2 3.029 3.303 week 3 3.050 3.308 week 4 3.056 3.392 week 5 3.068 3.421 total 3.043 3.336 $ 3.28 01/26/11 week 1 3.041 3.432 February week 2 3.067 3.501 week 3 3.089 3.524 week 4 3.132 3.557 week 5 total 3.082 3.504 $ 3.42 For purposes of this sample the first Monday would actually be 12/27/10 and week 5 in February should remain blank as the 2/28 falls in the next billing cycle. I hope this makes sense, and more so, i hope one of you can point me in the right direction. Thanks! Oops that table didn't transfer!!
  17. This will drive you crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep at it 'cause it is possible. This is one way to keep your mind sharp! It's a little 'test' that is (supposedly) part of a second grade Computer class in China . Some figure it out right away. Others report having to work on it for a week (or more) to solve it. Have fun and don't forget to forward to your kids & grandchildren. Frog Leap Test
  18. We have spent this week at Gulf Shores State Park in Gulf Shores Alabama. What a beautiful spot. Road the bike to Dauphin Island and along the coast to Pass Christian Mississippi today. Lot of evidence of the hurricane damage but everything is getting cleaned up nicely, at least along the coast where we were today. The weather has been fantastic all week. Heading for New Orleans on Monday.
  19. Splitting the front fairing Less then a week owned, second time I had it apart. Glad its easy.....
  20. I'm back on the brownie for the week, ride to work ,ride anywhere after work, I have spring fever bad!!
  21. I think I have found the perfect custom leather work for my motorcycle. Aces High Leather has completed my first job and it is posted on her website at http://www.acehighleathers.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=1&Itemid=56 My bike is the bottom mud flap and I am going to have her do one for my Roadstar also. another picture is also located at http://www.acehighleathers.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=53&Itemid=54 She is great and the turn around time was less than a week. Can't beat that with a STICK. I am going to use her for all my leather work. Rick A A Man of Few Words.
  22. For any of you that have an Advance Auto Parts Store in your area they have Seafoam on sale this week. $6.99 which in my area is at least $3 off the regular price.
  23. I just learned that Arizona Bike Week (March 30 - April 3) will not have a daily admission. Last year it was ten bucks. This year they are dropping the weekly price from $50 to $40. So if you are like me who goes for half a day only, you will have to pay $40. I guess I will miss Bike Week this year.
  24. It's going to be clear, sunny and in the 70's for the next week or so here in southern Arizona. Anybody wanna go for a ride?
