I've been changing oil twice a year with about 1000 miles between. Last year I changed the oil and put in amsoil with the MotorKote additive. The whine became unbearable at 55-60 mph so I dumped it out and put mobile 1 back in. Now the whine is guaranteed to show up at 55mph and yesterday a chirp showed up. Tomorrow I'm going to change oil again and this time I'm going to put Mobile 1 20w50 in it. It's really getting aggravating when people on the street stare at you and I know I'm not THAT unattractive, nor is my Venture. If anybody has any theories on this I sure would be willing to try them. I haven't bought the oil yet but I will tomorrow. My plan is to have a nice ride or 2 at Potato Creek w/o people staring at my bike because of the whine Thanks in advance

Does anyone have the recommended oil filter number and type of oil I should use for the first oil change (600 miles.) Also what type rear end oil to use Would like to change out tomorrow. This is for my RSTD 08. Thanks, Star4772

Squid and Lonna arrived here a little while ago. I have heard some of the good BS, table dancing, the cupcake hat and more. I'm sure there is more but it will wait till tomorrow. Glad everyone had a good time. I'm going to miss a few gatherings but we will make Pork in the Pines this year! Be prepared.

I've noticed an ad on Kijiji for Big Al's sale for tomorrow, April 3rd in London. When I did find his website the prices didn't seem that great, but the ad mentioned truckloads of new stock being liquidated. Anyone familiar with this outfit? I was wondering if anyone had been to one of these sales before, anyone going tomorrow? I needs me a new jacket .....

Leaving our house at 6:00am tomorrow morning. Heading for New England, a nine day trip, going to fill out some states on my map and see some areas we haven't seen before. I'll try to update as we go as long as I can get online.

His 1990 Venture Royale is ready for the road. Put the bike together tonight and will licence the new scoot tomorrow. I will post pics of him and his new bike tomorrow. He’s at work tonight and has school tomorrow so they will have to wait. He doesn’t know I worked on it tonight so it will be a surprise when he gets in. This is a big jump for him from a 600 Shadow to a 1300 Royale. I have to say the first Gen is one fast, smooth bike and it has all the trinkets and toys. Now that I have a First Gen with my :bowdown:Second Gen in the garage, I can understand the bantering between both members. It won’t be long before it starts here.

I want to thank everyone for all the spline reading and tech on greasing them, also on removing therear wheel it was a breeze after reading how, also the carbon one stand with legs is neater than slice bread too, so thanks for all the contributed to the tech section.. Now I'm kinda tick and not surprise when I took the rear wheel off there was not enough grease on the grear splines nor the pins in the hub to cover a eraser, I mean zip none, this bike has less than 8k miles and to be as dry and they are was joke, I'm such thankful I read about it here.. Get the E3's on tomorrow and back together tomorrow night then I get to look at my new tires and wonder how they would ride, 80% chance of rain Sat. and Sunday..

This is going to be ugly. I was sitting out on the deck today with my shirt off (it's already ugly), sipping a Jamesons, puffing a Cohiba and reading a book. Out on the lake others had their shirts off (no ladies unfortunately). Tomorrow we leave for Edmonton for the weekend. Forecast... -8 with snow flurries. I am packing bottles of brandy for emergencies.

like a puddle of rusty water surrounding the base of your water heater with no obvious drips from the pipes, pressure relief valve, or the drain. I bet ya'll can guess what I will be doing tomorrow...

Finally enough snow has melted off the 4+ miles of gravel to provide a safe path to the pavement! So tomorrow is the big day; my first ride since the snow hit last October! Tomorrow's temps are supposed to be mid 40's to maybe even 50F! My bike will be mud covered when I return home, but it will be worth it. It's been a long snowy winter and we'll likely get a few more storms before summer, but the road is open and I'm headed out for a ride!

No matter what comes up, I will ride tomorrow. Not been on Sylvester since last November. Temps tomorrow in mid forties and good enough for me and my buddy since there is no snow or ice. Not a big ride but something to take the edge off. I have sat in the garage with the heat on looking at Sylvester just thinking about a ride way to long. The weather on Sunday should be in the 60's but I can't wait.

I'm relatively new to the site and immediately felt a sense of "family" here. Although I tend to "josh" a lot and poke fun, there is a serious side and I'm dealing with that tonight. My lovely mother-in-law's funeral will be tomorrow. She passed last Friday from COPD, an insidious nasty consuming fate of which I hope never to have to be witness to again. Michelle, my wife, a firstborn and I were with Mae every day for the past 17 months. We did all we could to make her comfortable although we knew the inevitable. Please pray for us tomorrow as Michelle not only celebrates her own birthday but lifts her mom up. Thank you all,,, Renne

My front right brake has recently begun to squeal quite loudly when I use it. The pads aren't that old. I can't recall what manufacture they are but they were a quality item recommended by a trustworthy wrench at the time of a tire purchase. The rotor looks ok but I have yet to get a measurement of its thickness. Perhaps tomorrow. Assuming the thickness is ok, I am thinking of swapping inboard and outboard pads one for the other on that side. Suggestions? Thanks, Brian H.
