  1. :beersign:Yes friends of VR Chat, the time has come to get our togas out of the closet. This Thursday night starting around 8:30PM (EST) we will have a Toga Party. The refreshments will be free and any and all drinks are on the house. Our friend, GAwildKat assist with the hostessing. Do not be shy, give it a try! Please show up and show off your Toga's Thursday! Yama Mama
  2. Hello all - the annual carnival is just around the corner in Ohio - as usual, I'll be riding up form Tex-ass. Planning on leaving Wednesday the 16th. for a two-day ride. I usually spend the first night just north of Nashville, Tennesse. Anyone in Texas, Arkansas or Tennessee want to join up for the ride? If you are riding up from the desolate southern regions of Tex-ass, we can give you a bed here for Tuesday night. Lemme know . . . Goose
  3. Question for all you over the hill riders and campers. This question is for men and women. As you all know, as we get older, sometimes we have to get up in the night to visit the privy. Where do you go at in the middle of the night? Do you walk to the outhouse or carry a port-a- john or what? Boy--can't wait to hear the comments on this one. I'm asking for it I know so have fun,but would like some answere's also. Trying to talk the wife into camping again on the bike.
  4. On my way home last night I hit a deer.........Glad I was riding the tour Deventure.... Never went down.... Cracked the right side lower and the passing lamps and bruised up my right leg.... But no cuts or road rash......... WOW what a night.... Went out today and bought lottery tickets....
  5. Well I made a short trip to Wilmington last night... (about 60 miles) Met up with a fella' who wanted a motorcycle, and he had what I wanted... So we did the trade... With a baby on the way, this is a more practical toy... My New '65 Mercury. The license plate will say HAYLEY (if it's available) I'm pretty stoked! http://hphotos-snc3.fbcdn.net/hs378.snc3/24168_1320261879511_1019701763_30764700_7012435_n.jpg Anyhow, even though I gave up riding, I'll still check in with you guys, keep ya' posted about the lil' peanut the wife is brewin', and lookin' forward to Boomer's one-liner signatures!
  6. Has my display turned green. Seems to me it was always a pale yellow or tan but last night It looked like its turned green. Anybody else seen this ?

  8. Each year my best friend and I take a trip to somewhere on our bikes. This year we are headed to Washington. We leave in less than three weeks!! WOW I can't wait!! We live in Modesto, CA. Gonna head out over the Altamont Pass, take 680 to 24 to 80 to 101 and on up. Stopping the first night in Fort Bragg on the Pacific Coast Highway. Day two will see us up Hwy 1 to Cresent City where we will crash for night two. Then up into Oregon to see my little sister in Toledo, OR for night three. Day four will get us to Portland, OR where we will stay the night but not before we explore the southern part of Washington. Day six gets us back down to Eugene, OR. Easy day, nice hotel and probably a movie at the theater right across the street. Day seven gets us around Crater Lake and down to Mount Shasta, CA for the night. Day eight to Paradise, CA and back home on day nine.
  9. Here are the pictures from the Virginia M&E last weekend! We all had such a great time and the weather was absolutely beautiful! We filled up the big parking lot at the BBQ place with bikes! That place will never be the same again! It was great seeing old friends and making new ones! Riding the Skyline for the first time was such a thrill for us and we are ready to finish seeing the rest of it. Sounds like another road trip to me! We rode to Sledgehammer's house Friday night and thank Tim and Renee for putting us up for the night. George and Tim played a little foosball that night even though they both were so tired! And so many very special thanks to Riderduke's Felicia and Courtney for the warm hospitality of their home. Felicia, we looked at the Bahama Mama maker yesterday. It is on my Christmas list! But only if Courtney can come down and show me how to make them! It is always so much fun being around the girls!:bighug:I see a Sunday morning tradition of a run to Krispy Kreme!!! Spring fever is in the air and being out on the bike with friends was just perfect! http://s7.photobucket.com/albums/y262/venturerider/Sleeperhawk%20Mechanics%20April%2017%202010%20ME/
  10. Hey all: Well, heading out on my first long trip on my 07 midnight RSV to Sanford, fla on Thursday. Leaving as soon as school is out as I have a 12 day break and ready to head south to visit my daughter. Got a new rear tire on yesterday, fluids topped off and got her washed and waxed yesterday. Anyone have any lastminute tips as I head south Thursday. Will try to get on Thursday night after checking into hotel and then Friday night after I get there. Plan on taking it steady and not in a hurry. Appreciate any prayers for safe travel. Brian D.
  11. The weather being so nice...and me having to go back to work today to be ready for work at 6AM in the morning. I decided to ride Black Betty to work. I do this occasionally but have to watch the weather closely since I have to stay at work for 7 days and return the 8th day. So this morning I am head to Youngsville LA (suburb of Lafayette LA) for a week of work. I usually when in the cage drive back Tuesday night and get home around midnight, but since I am riding Betty...I will spend one more night and come back the following day so I will not have to travel at night through some of the heaviest deer population in the South East. The weather for the return trip April 7th looks promising so far. So I am hoping it will be nice for the return trip. Got her all loaded up and pulling out in a few minutes. I plan on talking the long way to get in as much riding as I can. Get out of my way...here I come cages.
  12. Guess what I had for dinner last night? They were very tender and delicious! http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i274/13thAFMonterey/0326101914a.jpg http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i274/13thAFMonterey/0326101917a.jpg
  13. I plan on leaving Wednesday Morning, and heading south through IL. I hope to meet DynoDon for lunch, and stay somewhere south of Champaign by dark that night. Hope to get somewhere near Memphis by Thursday night, and get to the Loozeeaner Meet and Wrench by Friday night. We'll see how the :snow:weather cooperates:cold:. If I fall a little short, I've got an offer from wes0778 to stay in Jackson, and head to the M&W Saturday morning. After the M&W, I want to get to Cocoa Beach by Monday night to see a Delta IV rocket launch. Tuesday I'll head up to Daytona to buy a t-shirt that says I was there and probably go camp out at the ABATE campground. From there I hope to head up the east coast for a few more states I've never been in, and head home from there. Anyone else on here go to Bike Week??? I'll be updating this thread as things progress. Later, Scooter Bob Oh ya, I've got to swing by Milwaukee and pick up Shari along the way.
  14. Taters is doing really good the last two days....she is moving her fingers and trying to wean herself from the pain pills...she still needs to take them for the pain, but is trying to go longer between them....last night was her first attempt to sleep in her bed, she made it thru most of the night but went onto the loveseat around 6 this morning..Every day I can see a little improvement and I think she is being a trooper putting up with the way I clean and cook and do the laundry...I dont think I meet her expectations at times, but she doesn't complain...when she does, I'll know she is feeling better...thanks again for all the pms asking about her....she sends her love to all who ask and is looking foward to seeing you all at MD this year.....ps...beer 30, she really wanted to play the night you called but, just wasn't up to it....but, she has your number in more than one way...lol...:rotf:
  15. I love being a grandpa. Our daughter and her husband welcomed their second child, first girl into the family last night at 11:18 MST. Lily is 7 lbs 7 oz and 21 inches. http://i470.photobucket.com/albums/rr70/utadventure/IMG_74471.jpg
  16. Last few days (and nights) have been sooooo hot Still 25c all night last night, and 42c during the day :scorched: Maybe some of that white stuff wouldn't be too bad
  17. http://cruzintheavenue.com/CarsWeDrove.htm just thought i would post this up to cheer everybody up who's suffering from this snowy weather we are having. susan came home last night and threw a snowball at me. i didn't even know it was snowing. come-on spring!! enjoy the show.
  18. I thought this crap didn't happen in Texas. Of course everything's BIGGER in Texas so we can't just get snow that you can drive on, it had to rain all night first and then sleet for 4 hours so there's a 1/2 inch of solid ice on everything!! We're supposed to end up with 12-18" of snow.
  19. SEEING IN THE RAIN I have used this many times and it works well. As a young patrolman, one night it was raining so hard you couldn't make out the front of the car I was driving. I was riding with an Old Salt 35 yrs. ago and he suggested I put on my sunglasses. WHOW! All of the sudden the visibilty in front of my windshield was perfectly clear. Almost as if there was no rain. You can see the rain bouncing off the road, it even works with the spray or kickup from semi's and cars. You will see the drops of rain on the windshield but NOT the sheet of rain falling. I have worn my sunglasses even at night to see in the rain and disperse the blinding headlights of people that drive in the rain with their brights on. It works, but you do loose some visibility. Ever since being told, I've always carried dark glasses when I travel, now I use a pair of flip-ups. Any dark glasses will work, just try it. REMEMBER DRIVING AT NIGHT WITH SUNGLASSES IS AGAINST THE LAW IN MOST STATES, BUT THIS MAY SAVE YOU FROM PULLING OVER AND GETTING HIT BY SOMEONE ELSE THAT CAN NOT SEE IN THE RAIN UNTIL YOU GET TO A SAFE PLACE TO STOP. REMEMBER TO NEVER RIDE IN THE RAIN USING YOUR CRUISE CONTROL MC OR CAGE. Pass this on to all your friends and family, IT SHOULD BE TAUGHT IN DRIVER'S ED CLASSES.
  20. Left work last night in a snowstorm with it blowing snow so hard , top speed was 15 mph ....took me more than 2 hrs. to get about 3/4 of the way home when it happened......The drivers side wiper took a dump....found a parking lot to pull into(thank God there was one right there) hope that the arm just became loose...nope...right side works, drivers don"t.... it justs flops around.....called my son out in the storm to get me....sorry son...by the time he arrived the storm had passed...so my truck is in the shop being repaired today (at least I had today off)...and here I sit waiting for the ups guy to finish delivering the rest of the Christmas gifts I ordered , I need to go to the post office to send out some vr wraps.... . probably should shovel out the drive again (snowblower still broke, shoveled till 10pm last night)......and waiting to hear from my repair shop...Think I'll get another cup of coffee and wait for spring to arrive..I hate winter...maybe a bowl of ice cream will help ??:ICgrin:
  21. Ok would like to know what everyone thinks. What kind of or brand of shoes are the best for working 8-16 hours on concrete? Sometimes not moving every much. Come home last night and was hurting. Back, ankles, knees and hips. Thinking about buying a new pair of shoes. Need ideas.
  22. On my way to the eye surgeon to have a lens implant worked on (laser surgery). Have implants in both eyes... cant see too well out of my left eye due to crystilization formed over the left lens...haven't been seeing to good the last several months especially at night...........yikes....ok can't see anything at night any more while driving and during the day its like looking thru waxpaper...given taters some scares over the last riding season and hitting those potholes at night isn't good for thr scoot either....gets costly......... I'm confident all will go good today...if not I'll have to have the lens removed and a new one installed.....scalpuls and eyes give me the willies........Saturday's round will be with my oral surgeon...been having trouble with my gums getting infected and last week had to have more teeth pulled...all was great until two days ago when I got a new infection on the other side of the gums...can't win...by the time I'm done dealing with the entire tuneup this winter I'll be a new man...the good news is that my blood pressure is better and my glucuma is better too...I THINK !!!!! ok time to go...........
  23. IH Truck guy has invaded our home for the weekend.... he had a cpl day layover in our area so we felt it only right we put him up.... great to see him as its been since early summer..... took him out to dinner last night I dont know what the guys are gonna do for sure tonight but i dont think I get to go along....:whistling:--maybe i dont want to... ( and most likely there wont be pictures...)
  24. First I hate to take any kind of drugs!! Just not me. I have a medicane cabinet full of Pain killers that would probally do this but won't take them unless I'm ready to start screaming. I have eaten enough of the things. Problem is this stupid leg & foot is waking me up at all times of the night and when it does I'm usually up for hours. Has my schedule so upside down I can't stay awake in the daytime and can't sleep at night. I have a hard time getting up to do anything when I am awake. No energy at all. What I'm trying to say is there any way I can return to sleep without drugs? Most of the time the leg settles down I just cannot return to sleep. Any natural way I can get back to sleep?
  25. footsie
