I will be having surgery in the morning for a cataract and hope it goes as good as the last time on the other eye. But the biggie is, Laura just found out today that after failing her stress test last week that Friday morning she will be having a heart cath to put a splint in due to the lower part of her heart not getting enough blood. I am afraid hers may end up with a bypass if the stint does not work ok. So, please keep us in your prayers and hope everything goes well. RandyA

Many years ago I refinished old/collectable furniture but it's almost impossible to find someone to strip the old finishes off anymore because of the toxic waste. 10 years or so ago I started building rustic furniture for resale and have continued because I enjoy creating different pieces. I also have a habit of waking up at 3 or 4 in the morning so I go out to the shop and make some saw dust. Attached is the piece I finished this morning, all poplar wood with the exception of a couple resawn oak panels in the doors. It's a 2 piece unit so I can handle it by myself.

Once the fog lifted this morning we headed out for the Foothills parkway and the Dragon's Tail. What a fantastic day! The weather was perfect. High 40s when we left this morning and warming up fast. I can't believe how this bike handles the twisties. I only scraped the floor boards a few times. It's the first time I've been on the dragon with the RSV. Last time I did it, I still had the Road Star. We continued on to Cherokee and back across the park on 441. Would you believe there was snow on the ground up there? I came 500 miles south of Canada and find snow. Who'd of thought?

Good morning to everyone, Well I just pick up my 09 Venture yesterday black/red man she ride and sounds like caddy.. Only one issue the speedommeter doesn't seem to move with ease, it acts like it is hanging if I can do a fast repair or fix I will but if I need to take it to the dealer that is not a problem.. Has anyone else had this problem? Also since I a proud owner now I will be joining today... Thanks guys/gals Scary

Need to make a little correction here. It is only 5, yes 5 days before the 2009 Pork in the Pines Pig Roast kick off. The festivities start Friday, September 4th with the Chili social. Depending on how the cooking goes, the social will probably get under way about 7pm and go until the wee hours of the morning. Cook can't stay up too late though... Needs to be up bright and early (well, at least early) to get breakfast started Sat morning. And, if anyone has a special request on how you want your eggs, you better get em in quick. :rotfl:

July 2009, Saturday PM Gas: Otis, Grand Ronde. No construction, but with everyone and their mother trying to get out of the heat in Portland, there was a HUGE backup starting ~6 miles from the US 101 junction. This was true stop and go, with more stop than go. Try to time your run to the coast on Sun - Thur or early morning. Road in good condition with well marked sweepers, increasing in number the closer you get to the coast. Passing lanes provided in the several places. Intermittent townage with the usual reduced speed zones.

We left the Hub on Thursday morning so that we could visit with my Sister who lives in Ravenden Ar. Had a nice visit and stayed the night. Ride across Arkansas was excellent. My sister and her husband bought us breakfast at 7:30 Friday morning in Pocahontis AR and we headed out. We are now in Coldwater Michigan. Made pretty good time and had no problems. Gonna get some shuteye and should be home tomorrow (Saturday) night. Hey Carl (and anyone else) want to ride Sunday afternoon?? Wayne

At MD I installed the mic mute. Got home monday afternoon. Rode bike to work tuesday morning. All OK. The temperature was so hot here in Georgia didn't ride bike for a week. The following monday morning was going to ride to work. Not enough power to turn the engine. Just made a clicking sound. Since I have the original battery, 05 venture, I felt it was time for a new battery. Got new battery tuesday morning but it was raining and hot so I put the charger on the old battery still in bike. Three days later took the charger off and bike started right up. I was surprised at how much power the battery had and I suspected then it might not be the battery. It was the following saturday before I was able to install the new battery. I tried the old battery just to see what it would do, bike started. I installed the new battery after charging it for 8 hours. Bike started fine. I haven't started the bike since. This morning I was going to go for a ride but the new battery is dead. Do you think there is an electrical problem or maybe the new battery is weak because I haven't ridden the bike since installing it.

Hoping that those of you who are on the site this morning can say a quick prayer. Our oldest son is doing is first long distance solo flight this morning up to our airport to meet us! Grandpa who is also a pilot, Grandma, Gary and myself are meeting him in about an hour. Clouds are low this morning, and I know things will go fine. Problem is I've flown with my dad hundereds of times....but it's a little different knowing your child is up in the air for a long flight by himself for the first time. Just hoping you could say a quick prayer for his safe trip and return home. It would help me out. Thanks Deb
