Somehow I missed this one completely. The jist of the story is that eight Bandidos were murdered in Canada in 2006. The trial was in April of this year. Yall be careful up there. http://cnews.canoe.ca/CNEWS/Crime/2009/03/31/8951096-sun.html

It's a sad day today. We lost Walter Cronkite today. I remember watching him on the news. Back when they actually gave you news. He will be missed. Here's a link to the story. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/us_obit_walter_cronkite Margaret

OK folks, when I finally got around to checking my email yesterday afternoon, I had 997 emails waiting. Then when I started trying to check them, I had a problem with Outlook Express "Not Responding" and fought with it until 2:00 this morning and finally went to bed. I then had to get on the road because I have meetings in Grand Rapids, MI this week. I'm now at the hotel in Michigan. I ended up having to delete all my mail folders to get things working again. I tried to save all the ones that were specific emails to me but may have missed a few. Anyway, I'm all caught up now but if you sent me an email or posted something specifically to my attention, please let me know if you did not get a response because I likely didn't see it. Sorry about the problem. Now hopefully tonight I can get back to updating the profiles of all you who have sent in your dues. I really need to get that job finished and then start make the access changes to the forum.

Its not to late to join me, 86er, RandyR, and Ediddy for the ride up to MD. I am leaving Newnan, Ga around 2:30 pm on Thursday, 6/4/09 to meet up with the others, so if your interested get in touch with one of us either by posting here or pm. Looking forward to this one, since I have missed the others........gonna be a grand time.............

Wondered if anyone caught this. They're looking at possibly going higher than that. Ran across this article.... http://www.usatoday.com/money/industries/energy/2009-04-16-ethanol-epa_N.htm If I have to depend on "them" to determine that higher ethanol levels won't damage my vehicles (particularly the bikes), I have but one question......When it is shown that they're wrong, missed something, screwed up and/or my equipment is damaged, who's gonna pick up the tab for the repair??? (yes that is a totally rhetorical question)

Not sure if this has been posted before ( I now see they have). I got the link in an email about a year ago or so. I especially like the Ducati one.... Have a look, enjoy... If its been posted before, its worth revisiting imo. On edit: it looks like these were just posted on 10/28/2008. Not sure how I missed them. And according to the nifty similar threads tool that pops up, also in 2007 a couple times. Well here it is again if you missed it. http://www.headgear.org/~cloyce/moto-motivation/ RSTDdog

So, I know this has been beaten into the ground over the years but it looks like my 99's rear shock with 55k on it is finally giving up the ghost. The last two days there has been a small puddle of oil under the shock. No, its the shock, not the vent tubes. Since the bike is way out of warranty I was wondering if there is a TSB from Yamaha on this issue. I have not heard of one before but I could have missed it. Also, has anyone here had any luck with convincing a dealer to give you a new shock for self install based on the history of failures. My next move is a Works shock but for now id take a stock shock if I can glean one from a dealer for free under warranty until I raise the needed cash for the Works. Any ideas????
-
and the dealer says its 3 weeks before he can look at it. Then if he thinks its covered under warranty he'll order one, and I'll have to make another 140 mile round trip to get it installed. When pressed about the time, he said that they are really busy with the holiday and all. (Is tomorrow a holiday that I've missed?) This throws a damper in the plans to take the bike on our vacation next week. And thats the dealer I bought it from! Don't ya just love 'em?

Finally home from the hospital and doing fine! Sure missed my own bed and my wife beside me! Also, my kitty missed me too. He is meowing and cuddling next to me. Many many thanks for all the cards and calls, especially you out of state people! Sure made me feel great and realise what a great family we have here! Here's a shocker, I even got a card from the Chaplain from the Venturers!! How in the world the other site found about my hospitilization is beyond me! So, I hopefully will be walking around in a couple of weeks. I can do limited walking on my heal now, but I'm talking about regular walking. I should be off work for a couple of months, so everyone is welcome to stop by and set a spell anytime!

Hello all, Well my '87 VR left me sitting only 2 miles from home today. i have tested the solenoid and starter work, so I guess I am down to the starter switch unless I have missed something else. I started digging into where the starter switch is and that is no picnic, any suggestions or hints? Thanks D

A very respectable man passed away today. Charlton Heston served the NRA for many years. I just wanted to pay respect to a man that influenced me greatly. He will be missed. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080406/ap_on_en_mo/obit_heston
