This old sea dog is coming ashore in San Francisco for the weekend June 24 - 26. I'm going to be docked in the Fisherman's Warf area. I'm looking to meet some of the members from the area. I'm thinking of Sunday, because I'm hoping to make it to Harbor Freight Saturday, but I'm very flexable. I know the area a little bit, I can make my way to Hooters or Bubba Gumps, maybe even a place in China town. PM me if you want to set something up.

I am planning a meet and eat for Sept 4th at Provinos Italian restaurant in Snellville Ga, Thats Labor day weekend and the 4th is a sunday, Time 2:30 Pm Place 2050 East Main Street 770-972-8411 Web site http://www.provinos.com/index.htm I will need to know if you are going to make it by Aug 20th so I can give them a close count if there is enough we will have the back room otherwise its seating as available. The food here is consistently great Mini and I go there when ever we are in the area and Blackjack is around the corner and likes the place as musch as we do.. Hope to see you there. Riding my bike home from work yesterday I came across a maroon / black venture with out of state plates. I thought it might be someone from here riding in for the meet at Randy's tonight so I waved at him and we pulled in to a gas station to chat. He was actually riding around the southeast just seeing sights and stopped over here to ride the 421 Snake. We talked about the bikes, mods I have done to mine and of course I had to tell him about Venturerider.org and that here is where I got the info to do the stuff I've done. Maybe we'll see him around, I'm terrible with names, but I believe he said his name was Rich.

I'll be in VA the weekend they come, but Annie said to ask where folks would like to meet. Since I know there's a few of the NC members that haven't met them yet we need to find a great place for them to visit at. I'm guessing they aren't coming all the way to the coast, but she did say anywhere. I figure somewhere in the middle might be the easiest. Could have a group introduce them to some NC BBQ in Lexington maybe. Someone let me know where you'd like it to be and I'm sure Annie and Al will be following this. It's Father's day weekend 17 & 18. So come on NC we need a meet for Annie. Margaret

Once again I plum forgot to put the 3rd Annual Iowa: Southeast Iowa, WI, MN, MO, IL, MEET & EAT. on my calendar. So I missed it I do plan on riding up to Pork In The Pines again it was a hoot last year to say the least. Any one know the dates yet on that. I need to take a longer ride this summer was thinking up into Canada. Cody sounds fun too my bride likes 100 mile rides so I don't think she will want to join me. Anyway sorry I missed the Iowa Ride I live like 10 miles from the Casino where people were meeting. I would like to meet a few more Iowa Venture riders. Gary -
Ya I know, we all knew that,,, but this is different. They are planning to be in S.Ontario from next Friday to Thursday morning June 2. Now we don't mind having them around,,,, at least that's what I'm supposed to say,,,,,, but some others may like to have a go at them for a day or so. So here's the proposition: Friday afternoon and evening they'll be in our care, and anyone else that shows up,,, it is the start of Marcarl's VentureIn. so we'll have supper somewhere and then BS the evening away. Saturday they is going to join in on the VentureIn, meet lots of new folks, forget all their names and be plum wore out,,, soooooo Sunday is a day of relaxing and catching up with the time,,,,, maybe. Being that they are 12 hours ahead of us, and that they have been flying for a day or so, jet lag may be an issue. ( and they ain't spring chickens anymore) Monday,,, maybe somebody would like to take them to see some sites,,, maybe Niagara Falls or maybe Toronto, or maybe Kitchener Waterloo,,,, who knows. Tuesday,, the same as Monday, only different,,,,,,, maybe different people and other sites. Wednesday a repeat of Monday and Tuesday, just don't get them bored with repeats. Thursday, they plan on heading for Don's to get maintained properly. The idea is that they would meet with more folks than just us,,, hey,, sleep overs are great as well maybe. Offer up some suggestions, let's make it interesting for them. This will need to be approved by the boss,, of course!!!

My 07 has 1500 miles on it and yesterday I noticed a noise that sounds like the old dry speedometer in the old cars. I notice it most when I slow down but if I listen closely I can hear it riding around town. I really would like to take it on a 150 mile ride later today to meet the kids for Mother's Day supper but now I'm not sure. I jacked it up and spun the tire and didn't hear it. Any ideas?

My friend and I are planning on possibly riding to the Veterans Memorial Wall (Arlington,Va.), and I have never been. Just wondering if anyone else has made these plans here in our general neighboring states or in our area. We would be leaving here, Olive Hill, Ky. on Friday, May 27 at 2:00 pm to ride to Arlington,Va. From here it is about 7 hrs none stop. We would like to take our time and be there for the Sunday morning trip to the wall,then start back for home that evening. Must be back home on Monday, May 30 th by 12:00 noon. Would love to meet up with some of you folks if you have made plans to go. I told my friend JD, that I would check to see if any of you all are going/or making plans before we make any final decisions. I have looked at RFTW site and information. But I think we are a little to late to get any of the discounts and so on. I feel like we would maybe be intruding on a good thing by not making plans in advance. We decided that we would become members next year and try and meet up with them. Their deadline for hotels and so forth was in April. This would be a nice annual event if someone would like to take on the responsibility of such a plan. Or maybe someone has. I did a search and came up with nothing. i'm not getting much response on the meramec state park meet in sullivan, mo. if you are planning on attending please let me know, or sign in on the calender. if i don't get much responce in the next day or two i am going to cancel it and go to a cushman meet in haiwsee georgia. i would rather do the sullivan meet, and see all my old friends and meet some new ones. let me know. thanks, bill

Hey all, its been awhile since I last posted,probably since the last Meet and Eat in Rome with Eck and Blackjack. Lifes beens nuts here, but anyways, I am pretty sure I have blown my rear shock. I have noticed oil under it and it seems my ride has deteriated to the point that I bottom out on most any bump and sometimes the bike feels a little squirrley in a curve, kinda like a cocker spaniel wagging its tail! lol anyways, I found an OEM for about 550 but I really wanna make sure that I ain't replacing it for nuthin! I have heard that I should not bottom out the shock and I know we've been packing a few more pounds, but it does bottom out a lot,and it seems to float a bit? I plan on a rear tire as well if I can find a venom on sale, hoping to hit the Keys in a few weeks so I have my hands full! Hope all is well with all and we'll meet up again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

with Willie and Waylon and the Boys...and swing through Muskogee, Ok on the way, and catch a VR MD in Waller, TX on the way, and try to get obducted in Roswell, NM, and then maybe the 4 corners, and then Wolf Creek Pass a way up on the Great Divide, and meet an old friend in Colorado Springs, and then work my way back home. Should be fun. :banana:Gotta go find some serious after this long winter. Planning on leaving on Wednesday, the 23rd for a week and a half or two. Hoping to get to somewhere well west of St Louis on Wednesday night, and somewhere south of Muskogee by Thursday Night. Hope to be either to Conroe or Waller on Friday Night. We'll see how the weather co-operates with this plan. Gonna be at the S.E. Texas MD at Kregerdoodle's on the 26th and spend the night, and head to Luckenbach and stay there Sunday night. Kind of up in the air from there. Dynodon, Rick Haywood, EUSA1, anybody else, wanna meet for lunch in central IL next Wednesday?? Later, Scooter Bob

Don't know how buzy he will be,but said he might have time to meet members for dinner tonight or Sunday or Monday night. Hi, Sometime in the dim past, that could be yesterday or six months ago depending on who is asking me a question, someone invited me to a meet in the Kootney's but I can't remember who that was and when. Then someone asked me if I had been to the Kootney meet last year. I know it is slim information to go on but if anyone is familiar with that event could you please drop me a line. the time is running out . i have to get this thing done by april 15th, first meet in greenwood, ar.. chrome is going to the shop in the morning, and the paint job is almost done. forks and front end are ready for mounting. now it's all the little stuff that has to be done. built my fuel tank yesterday and tacked it together ready to be tig welded as soon as i make the filler neck and mounts. my last big project is mounting the 32 mm mikuni flatslide. very limited space for the carb and aircleaner so i'm still up in the air on my manifold design and how i'm going to design the shape. this may be my biggest problem so far. i may bring it to b2 dads meet & eat in july so folks can see it.

I'm not saying, I'm just saying.... Terry, Blackjack has busted his arze to keep us together for the past three years... and somebody needs to step up to the plate and and pick up the ball and run with it.... so I'm guess I'll try,,,,,, Here in Atlanta the riding conditions have sucked for the past few weeks even though I have been riding on a daily basis to get to work and back. But, this weekend on Saturday it looks like we might have a fairly decent riding day and the Great American Motorcycle show will be in town. All I'm saying is that this might be a good day and opportunity to get together in a spirit of mutual friendship, comraderie and fellowship to get together for the purpose of a ride opportunity, Viewing the show, a meal together and talking about how we will keep the North Georgia monthly meet and eat together. I'm willing to provide an after show meeting place at the Atlanta chapter of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 714 near Spaggetti Junction for food, adult libations and entertainment to discuss the future of the North Georgia Venture riders participation in monthly meet and eats. ALL WITHIN THE SOUND OF MY VOICE ARE WELCOME. What I'm suggesting is maybe picking a meeting spot for breakfast, going to the show and getting together afterwards for a group social activity to discuss how we might honor Blackjacks efforts by keeping the North Georgia Monthly meet and eats alive. Speaking for myself, I know that many of the memories and valued friendships that I have realized on this forum have been a direct result of the Terry's selfless commitment to trying to bring us together and I for one would hate to see that end.
