Just in case anyone is interested, Black Owl is back. Got really tired of not getting any responses to my requests as Cerberus, so will see if going back to my original screen name makes any difference. http://www.postsmile.com/img/summer/95.gif

1996 RS dependability
dukhunter322 posted a topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Hello, I am a newbie here but have been watching for a month or so. I am looking at getting a 1996 RS w/ 22k miles on it. It came from Fl so there is a major cleaning in the works. I have heard nothing but good things about the motor (yamaha still makes it). But , what about the rest of the bike. Any coments will be appreciated. This may save me thousands in the future over a harley bagger. Thanks. -
I am currently shooting an Oneida Aeroforce. I fell in love with the Oneida because of the smooth pull through the entire draw because of my shoulder problems. The problem with the Oneida is the weight of the bow, and also the size of it...it is a long bow compared to many others. Makes it difficult to hunt with this bow from a ground blind because most ground blinds are not tall enough. As a result I am looking into different brands of bows and have come across one make called "Concept Archery", which makes a nice looking shorter and lighter bow, and they advertise 99% let off. I would welcome suggestions of any other makes of bows keeping in mind my biggest issue is that I need a smooth draw throughout the draw...I can't pull over the hump that many of the bows have. Thanks for the input.

Saw this last night. Outstanding movie. If you don't have a tear in your eye by the end of this, you have no heart. It makes you wonder, does the public really know what's happening as was suggested in the movie? :thumbsup2::thumbsup2:

We were discussing at work today how cabin fever has set in, and how we still have January and February to get through... when we decided what we needed to do was dig out... or rent one of those comedys, the one that you could see over and over again and it STILL makes you laugh. I mean really laugh....out loud. Everyone still has their favorite.. the one that always makes them laugh...the one they think is the best one ever. Does anyone remember Fatso? with Dom Deluise? or how about Night At the Roxburry? I think we all need a good laugh. How about it? Let me hear what your favorite comedy is.

we bought a forclosed house last year and for some reason in the ceilings all the joints are cracking and some have some chunks coming out. I was told its because it sat empty in the winter for at least two years and now with the heat and all everything is changing. Whats the best way to fix this so I dont have to do this again later? it has textured ceilings also so that makes it fun. Thanks!! I dont have anyone else to ask and figured someone here would have a good idea.

Not sure if I have a problem or not, it looks like one side of my front tire is on the road more then the other, if that makes sense, but I measured it from the center and the wear is equal, it looks off to me, what do ya`ll think??

No, its not a motorcycle, or a new car, or a new house, but we got us a brand new Grandson..............Remy Austin Cramer, 6lbs even 19 inches............this is the happy family...My sons first child..........that makes 3 grandsons, still waiting on the grandaughter.

A couple of years ago I bought a driving light spacer from someone on this site. The gentleman made them. Does anyone know who that was and if he still makes them? I sold the bike that I had it on and now need another one. Thanks

I've been getting a sharp pain in my shoulder after I ride for a couple of hours. It starts out feeling like someone is stabbing me with an ice pick in the area marked with an X 0n the silhouette below. I just started riding again after 25 years without a bike. I really thought I would work through it after a while, but it just seems to be getting worse. My wife and I were on the bike for 6 hours yesterday and the pain was unbearable. I've tried adjusting the bars up and down and it hasn't helped. After a while it spreads up into my neck and makes it hard to turn my head to my right. I've read posts where others have had a similar problem. I'm curious if anyone has had success in fixing the problem. I'm willing to try about anything.

My wife, er I mean Santa, brought me a set of chrome passenger floorboards. They sure do shine. Makes those stock boards look rather ugly. Here's a couple of photos. Dennis

While waxing my new '08 Venture S, I noticed a chrome piece of metal over the top of the rear jug on the left side (sitting on bike) and there is not one on the right side. Is this piece missing and if not, what is it's purpose. The only purpose I can see is it makes it hard to get to the seat nut on that side and easy on the other. I can't sleep wondering if my baby is missing on of her chrome pieces.

Does any one know if BEER30 still makes the saddle bag bras for the RSTD

About two days a week I work in the office (engineering) so that makes me a white collar worker. Two days a week in the field service makes me a blue collar worker. Tomorrow I got a meeting about a wind generator project so I should wear green. A few of my clients are all women but I'm not wearing pink. Ramona just brought home some homeade blackberry wine and now I don't have a shirt on at all.:rotfl:

I just wanted to say a big thanks to everyone that has put information on this website. Without it, I don't know if I would have been able to get the foks back on my '87 VR. I took it apart about 6-7 weeks ago and dropped the forks off to have new seals installed and put in the new Progressives while it was apart. I can just about fix anything, but when your memory has nothing to recall from past experiences..it makes it kinda hard. With all of the fixes that everyone has done and all of the pictures, I have finally gotten it back together and had my first ride in a very long year. Thanks again for all the help. Kevin

I just read through the Kawasaki Voyager thread. I saw several comments disparaging the belt drive. I don't understand the down side of a belt final drive?? I like shaft drive, but I've also owned a RoadStar with belt drive that I thought was just fine. I'd like to know what I'm missing. What makes shaft drive superior to belt?

Hello everyone.......first let me say this sight is the greatest! I just purchased a 2008 Venture and after getting used to the weight...it's the best bike I have ever owned. I must be lucky cause I don't have the I-basket problem I've read so much about. My question today is about driving lights. Who makes a good after market unit? Or do I have to go with OEM? Are they difficult to install? Maybe it's best to have the dealer do the whole thing. What do you think? Thanks

What aftermarket supplier makes a rack to fit in the hitch on an RSV? I've seen them out there and I know some folks have made their own. I won't be making my own because I'm not talented enough :crying:so unless someone jumps up and volunteer to make me one:thumbsup: I'm out searching. Any help in the way of supplier links would be appreciated. Thanks,

I've often seen people here who are looking for driver's backrests for the first generation Ventures. Markland used to make one but of course it is no longer in production. They do come up on Ebay from time to time but usually bring top dollar. I was wondering how many people know that Utopia still makes a backrest for the first gen. At least for the '86-'93 I think. It requires a bit of work to install but really doesn't look that difficult. http://www.utpr.com/venture.html
