I met up with a buddy at the Buc-cees in Pearland, thence to ride to a Texans-Cowboys party. I was gassing up when I spied a white RSTD right behind me. I went over and introduced myself. Then I introduced myself again because he had music in his helmet and didn't hear me the first time. LOL His name was Ed. I told him that I had to say hi, since RSTDs are so rare. He didn't realize that I was also riding one until I pointed it out. RSTDs are just so rare that you can hardly believe you are seeing one! I asked if he ever had heard of VentureRiders, and he told me that he is addicted to the site. Ed even knew who I was! I suggested that he join, because then he'd be more attuned to the fellowship. We had a meet n eat yesterday, he should have come! There are so many intangible and tangible benefits of this site! His is a pretty white 2006, set up solo. Other than that, it is pretty stock. Really clean. He came over to look at Roxie, and declared her really tricked out. I don't think so, but she isn't stock. I pointed out my airhorn as one mod I did that I found important. He told me he'd been trying to figure out how to add the horn. Well, no need to struggle! Join the site and send up a flare! We're all happy to help. Honestly, Ed, you don't need to join the site. Send me a PM if you are able, and I'll come help you figure out your airhorn. And more. But you really ought to think about joining the rabble. We're like family: completely dysfunctional! Dave

Took a 3 day trip up to the NC-Tn mountains last weekend and met this guy and his wife up on the Cherohalla Skyway. We sat there and talked for maybe 30 minutes. Real nice couple. They are from Kentucky. I invited them to join us on this forum since we are having a lot of GW owners and a new segment for "Wingnuts" . If any of you live close by them, tell them I said "hi" and encourage them to join us. BTW, he said his Honda GW Quad was one of only 7or 8 in the US, he thought.

My time as a Venture owner, that is. Today the 99 that I had listed in the classifieds was picked up by its new owner, a real nice guy named Doug from the Joliet, IL area. I was sad to see her go, but I know that Doug will give her a good home. Doug said that he has been here on the site a couple times checking things out, and was very impressed. I encouraged him to join, I think he'd fit right in. He seemed to be the kind of guy I'd enjoy riding with. BTW, his 10 year old daughter was just as excited as he was. She's a cutie and said she can't wait to go riding with Dad. Doug, if you're lurking let us know. Joe

I was checking to see if there were any members who were VIP members to Wingstuff.com. There is a JMCB-2003-dual set on there for 305 and it asked me to become a vip member and I could maybe get a discount. I was checking to see if anyone was a member and check if I could get better deal. I don't mind becoming a member if I can but don't own a Goldwing so it would not pay for me to join. After this I will probably never buy anything there again.

This is very short notice, but if you're interested, tomorrow is the Blue Ridge Fest benefit poker run. registration online or starting 0830. Blessing of the bikes at 0900 and starts running from 0915 till 1100. cost $25.00 last year they had like 500 bikes. It's supposed to be a 100 mile run starting in Pickens SC and ending in Anderson SC (at the HD store I believe) Brenda and I would like to go but I am not too interested in running a group of one. If any of you guys wants to join up PM me and we'll see where and when we can join up. If you are already planning on going and don't mind additional company let me know. temps in the upper 80 w. chance of isolated T'stroms

Talked to Pioneer Motorsports and locked in the dates for the WNY mini rally for 2010...aug20th to the 22nd...check it out in the rally section and sign up in the calander if you can join us....lots of fun to be had with surprises along the way..Hope you can join us this year....

Hi Everyone, some friends and i are starting to make plans to ride to gettysburg this summer around the july time frame just woundering if anyone has made this trip and has any good "must see's" or places to stay ect as the plans start to become more permant i will post more details and if anyone from here would like to join us your more than welcome to.. or if you live along the way we can meet you then join us in route. thanks for your input. Every morning flocks of crows fly overhead our house towards the East. Every evening they fly overhead West. Tonight they decided to stop over for a convention! Man, what a noise they made. They "convened" for about 1/2 hour ... some would leave and others would join... it was an amazing sight. Even the airplanes were trying to join...

We're planning on leaving our house in Easley Sc about 1030 (128 Lakeshore Dr) and heading up to hendersonville, NC via 135, 11 and 25 then pick up 64W all the way to Dillard, Ga and return via 76 and 123, We'll stop along the way for lunch and anything else. So far 5 bikes, maybe one cage (depending on which bike I ride and how twistie the road looks). Anyone want to join us or meet up along the way feel free to shoot me a PM. Should be about a 190 mile, 4plus hour run. I just need to decide :scratchchin:if I want to ride a real bike or the Shadow:innocent:

Hopefully there will be a new member to join soon. I just sold my 88:crying: (without coffin trailer) Told the fella about this site and he promised to join up. Says he just sold his HD and was looking for something cheaper and reliable. Wonder what he meant by that? :whistling:Now, what am I gonna do? Paint trailer to match GW; look for another gen 1; sell trailer; to much of a decision to make now.

Getting ready to buy new tires (front and rear), getting Avons, liked them on my Roadstar so they're going on the RSV. Just wondering where everyone is getting them from nowadays. J&P have pretty good pricing, you join their "club", you get 10% off. It's $50 to join, but I'll end up with about half of that back with the tire purchase. The price is 139 ea on the tires. Southwest is about the same price and Motorcycle Superstore is about the same with the discount offered. Just wondering what people are doing. Thanks

i ride every saturday and sunday morning during riding season with a couple of local members. i would like to get a big group of members together for the riding season who would like to get together and do early morning rides on the weekends in my area. kind of like a local chapter of venturerrider.org. this inludes all you lurkers that are still on the fence. the rides will start very early in the morning like a meeting time of 6am on sat. and sun. and would be from 100 to 200 miles. depending on what every one agrees on. i live in the st. charles area next to st. louis. if anyone is interested pm me with all your stats like where you are and i will put you on my list. i am dead serious about this cuz i almost live on my bike. so come out of your closet and join us. bill :clap2: ps. speaking of lurkers on the fence, dive in and join the fun. you won't regret it.

Anyone have any idea how hot it gets where the mufflers join the stock pipes? I put some permatex 1B form a gasket on and I'm wondering if it's going to burn away... 400F limit. Thanks, gp
