  1. Senior citizens are constantly being criticized for every conceivable deficiency of the modern world, real or imaginary. We know we take responsibility for all we have done and do not blame others. HOWEVER, upon reflection, we would like to point out that it was NOT the senior citizens who took: The melody out of music, The pride out of appearance, The courtesy out of driving, The romance out of love, The commitment out of marriage, The responsibility out of parenthood, The togetherness out of the family, The learning out of education, The service out of patriotism, The Golden Rule from rulers, The nativity scene out of cities, The civility out of behavior, The refinement out of language, The dedication out of employment, The prudence out of spending, The ambition out of achievement or God out of government and school. And we certainly are NOT the ones who eliminated patience and tolerance from personal relationships and interactions with others!! And, we do understand the meaning of patriotism, and remember those who have fought and died for our country. Does anyone under the age of 50 know the lyrics to the Star Spangled Banner? What about the last verse of My Country 'tis of Thee? "Our father's God to thee, Author of liberty, To Thee we sing. Long may our land be bright, With freedom's Holy light. Protect us by Thy might, Great God our King." Just look at the Seniors with tears in their eyes and pride in their hearts as they stand at attention with their hand over their hearts! YES, I'M A SENIOR CITIZEN! I'm the life of the party...... even if it lasts until 8 p.m. I'm very good at opening childproof caps.... with a hammer. I'm awake many hours before my body allows me to get up. I'm smiling all the time because I can't hear a thing you're saying. I'm sure everything I can't find is in a safe secure place, somewhere. I'm wrinkled, saggy, lumpy, and that's just my left leg. I'm beginning to realize that aging is not for wimps. I'm a walking storeroom of facts..... I've just lost the key to the storeroom door. Yes, I'm a SENIOR CITIZEN and I think I am having the time of my life! Now if I could only remember who sent this to me, I wouldn't send it back to them, but I would send it to many more too! Spread the laughter Share the cheer Let's be happy While we're here.
  2. Merry Christmas to all our friends in VR.org......and may your GOD give blessings.
  3. Sitting here trying to figure out how to get some of these Crusin for St. Jude items out without having an auction I have come up with a contest to do so. The prize will be a St. Jude T-shirt, hat, and pin to the winner. The first person that can tell me the name for the lyrics I have posted below will win them.Good luck. Fading light dims the sight And a star gems the sky, gleaming bright From afar drawing nigh, Falls the night. Day is done, gone the sun From the lakes, from the hills, from the skies All is well, safely rest; God is nigh. Then goodnight, peaceful night; Till the light of the dawn shineth bright. God is near, do not fear, Friend, goodnight.
  4. Probably been posted before, but what the heck, I liked it! I am guessing it ain't to political for anybody but as long one reads it that OK. God Bless America and Canada and any other free nation that fights for it's freedom. If you don't know GOD, don't make stupid remarks!!!!!! A Canadian soldier was attending some college courses between duty tours. He had completed several missions in Afghanistan. One of the courses had a professor who was an avowed atheist, and a member of the ACLU. One day the professor shocked the class when he came in. He looked to the ceiling and flatly stated, GOD if you are real then I want you to knock me off this platform. I'll give you exactly 15 min.' The lecture room fell silent. You could hear a pin drop.. Ten minutes went by and the professor proclaimed, 'Here I am GOD, I'm still waiting.' It got down to the last couple of minutes when the Soldier got out of his chair, went up to the professor, and cold-cocked him; knocking him off the platform. The professor was out cold. The Soldier went back to his seat and sat there, silently. The other students were shocked and stunned, and sat there looking on in silence. The professor eventually came to, noticeably shaken, looked at the Soldier and asked, 'What in the world is the matter with you? 'Why did you do that?' The Soldier calmly replied, 'GOD was too busy today protecting Canada's soldiers who are protecting your right to say stupid stuff and act like an idiot. So He sent me.' The classroom erupted in cheers! BUBBER PS NEVER EVER PISS OFF the ONE that matter most!
  5. Was sent this attachment. Hope it comes out. Don't know if has been posted here before. This is awesome. I had no idea this was happening. God Bless this man. This is the first I've seen or heard of this bell. What an honorable thing for someone to do. If you delete this before opening, "Your loss". God bless this person.
  6. I want to wish every one a Good Friday. For many of us this is a day of mixed emotions as we sort through the tremendous suffering of our Lord and the great blessing of forgiveness found at the cross. "For God so love the world, He gave his one and only Son - that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life."
  7. My Saints are in the Super Bowl, the sun is shining, the temps are warmer and dryer today than they have been for quite a while, and I got a little cycle-therapy in on both bikes today............God is good, all the time.........
  8. I have a couple plumbing questions that most everyday people like myself would be stumped. So rather then tie up the site could someone PM me who does it for a living or has LOTS of experience? Thanks and God Bless. Mike
  9. I would just like to ask all that knew Stephen and those that didn't if they would keep Stephens family(Marion, Sara, Kaitlyn)in their prayers as this will be a stressful time for them on the anniversary of his death. Stephen was a family man and a friend to everyone he met. God speed my friend Dianne DowntonWe thought of you with love today but that is nothing new We thought of you yesterday and the days before that too We think of you in silence we often speak your name All we have is memories and a picture in a frame Your memory is our keepsake with which we'll never part God has you in his keeping We have you in our heart
  10. Folks.... It is with great sadness that I come on here and ask for you to take a second and remember a great man, Ron Gaskill. Ron was Lonna's and my neighbor for the last 7 years, today God took him home and it feels like I have been hit by a truck. I had a very strong bond with Ron and he was one of my great friends, I could talk with him about anything. We had the motorcycles in common, as he rode for many, many years with some of the clubs out of Detroit. I can't explain to you how I felt about Ron except by saying I loved him, we were brothers in spirit and I am devestated by his passing. Ron was a member of the Michigan wood carvers club. Recently he has been an intrigal part of canes for Veterans. The group has been presenting any Veteran who served all the way back to WWII hand carved canes. He has also been donating all his time and efforts to making these canes for all. Ron leaves behind his wife Nancy and his Daughter Amanda....Ron was 58 years old. Rest in peace my friend, and I await the day that we can ride together....God speed.
  11. Just checking to see if everyone made it home safe from Cody. So if you went and are back please check in. I've seen a few say their home but not all. So a simple "I'm/were home safe would be great. God Bless. Mike
  12. Everything's changed since March... Did a job with 160 ATMs to reprogram in GA, AL, and CA and squeezed in 3 weeks in FL including Daytona Bike Week and a few days in the Keys where me and my Bro partied like it was 1978 and did some snorkeling out on the Coral Reef.. I also did a day at The Laughlin River Run but it was 105 and no shade trees and the heat was starting to get to me and got to Leesburg Bikefest on the same weekend.. Anyways while riding through the desert on a bike with no name.. I did some soul searching and asked God to show me a sign that he exists... I get home and the Ol'Lady tells me she's moving to NH and that she wants a Divorce after 25 years (she's been talkin about it for like 3 years) ... I said "Yes!!! there is a God!!!" (I even went to church today for the 1st time in a long time) Then... I meet this hot sexy little 43 yo nurse down in NH.. Well you get the idea... Let's just say she restored my faith in womanhood and I now know that all women are not evil... Some are actually quite sweet... Ok I also dropped a lot of weight... I used to be 333 (or maybe that's as high as my scale went) and I'm down to 259 and shooting for 210 and I've cleaned up my act some... I'm also a happier person (some people here will be glad to hear that... ulessed there so pissed at me they won't even read this)... and other than a Stevie Wonder blind joke that rubbed me the wrong way (especially while or Founder is dealing with a potential loss of sight)... I think I've been pretty chilled here... For the record Stevie played at my High School in 1974 when I was a Junior during school we had an assembly and there was Stevie and a piano playing "Very Supersticious" and about 10 other songs and it was awesome... I wasn't even a big SW fan at the time but I was amazed a guy could be so talented while overcoming a handicap that I'm glad I don't have... Needless to say I became a big fan.. Well if anyone's still reading this drivel.. I've met some good people on this site and look forward to seeing them again... At the risk of sounding too cornball like some of the threads I poke fun at... Disclaimer: The above thread reflects the opinion of the poster and your results may vary. Other use without the proper express written consent herein whearas should not be removed under panalty of law... Hey lemme know if I need some more disclaimers and I'll call a credit card lawyer and he can write me a book. Later,
  13. got to work @ 8am - soaped up the garage floor and scrubbed it down - stepped out to grab the water hose to rise it off - took one step into the shop and went down on my left side.... dislocating my shoulder (man that hurts) - off to emerg. room where they xrayed it and said they saw no break (s)-three shots of morphine and one other type didn't touch the pain- a doc comes in & tells nurse to give me a shot to put me sleep, well that didn't work either - so he proceeded to put it back in place - and when it popped back in the pain was instantly reduced by 90%. my left hand is numb and can't move two fingers- doc said wait about three days to see if it begins to cooperate, if not to see a ortho doc. got no one to blame but me, but the prospect of missing out on riding is a bummer. if anyone has an extra prayer send it my way, thanks. my initial prayer was already answered, i ask God to allow me no bone breaks...so praise God from whom all blessig flow. Buz in N.C.
  14. Driving my trailer across the US and Canada has gotten a lot of attention from people everywhere. One the questions I am always asked is "How does she pull?" My response has always been: "I do not even know she is back there!" That proved true yesterday evening! We where 2 miles from our exit for the evening when my girlfriend pounded me on the back "The trailer has come off" I look in my mirror and sure enough the trailer is sliding down US 101 Pacific Hiway and no longer being towed by mau! I never felt the trailer come off the hitch and if my girlfriend had not heard it come off we would just keep on going. We pulled off the side of the highway and watched as the trailer continued to slide first down the road, then onto the shoulder, and then off into the ravine! I am sitting there wondering what happened? and why didn't the safety chains kick in? and thank God no one is hurt! I ventured down into the ravine to the overturned trailer. Our gear was scattered here and there but the trailer was intact. Upon inspection I saw that the alltread of the hitch ball had come undone. That explained what happened. Looking closer I saw that the bracket which the safety chains were attached to was secured to the all thread. When that came off so did the safety chain bracket. In retrospect I am really glad that happened! I had a clothes line which I attached to my bike and used to body reppel into the ravine to retrieve most of our gear! Unfortunately The clothes line was not strong enough to haul the trailer up out of the ravine. It was funny but I was not really concerned. I mean, it was just stuff, no one was hurt. In situations like this I really put a lot of trust in God! Sure enough within a half hour a man named Jim stops to help. Jim owns a Kal Vulcan. He does not have a rope but he does call someone who does. That turns out to be Dennis and his son, Russ, show up and they have a hoist. Very soon after the trailer is back on the shoulder. I have no way of reattaching her to the bike but no biggy. Dennis and Russ have a 1 7/8" ball hitch on their 4 wheeler, just no tools. They go get tools return and help me install the ball. They both, of course, are bike riders to. Will not accept payment! By then two hours have elapsed! CHIP has shown up, another bike rider has shown up and everyone is helping. The trailer has minor damage at best, scractes and one hinge is partly damaged, and I have gotten into some poison oak. God really does love me. We are back on the road continuing our journey through out the US!
  15. Just another shameless plug fo the CLASSIFIEDS. A creative idea on how you can use your :usa: stim-a-lus check!?!? ........GOD save the king...........................:sign isnt that specof America
  16. After three weeks in the Garden of Eden, God came to visit Eve. "So, how is everything going?" inquired God. "It is all so beautiful, God," she replied. "The sunrises and sunsets are breathtaking, the smells, the sights, everything is wonderful, but I have just one problem. It's these breasts you have given me. The middle one pushes the other two out and I am constantly knocking them with my arms, catching them on branches and snagging them on bushes. They're a real pain." And Eve went on to tell God that since many other parts of her body came in pairs, 20 such as her limbs, eyes, ears, etc. She felt that having only two breasts might leave her body more "symmetrically balanced". "That's a fair point," replied God, "But it was my first shot at this, you know. I gave the animals six breasts, so I figured that you needed only half of those, but I see that you are right. I will fix it up right away." And God reached down, removed the middle breast and tossed it into the bushes Three weeks passed and God once again visited Eve in the Garden of Eden. " Well, Eve, how is my favorite creation?" "Just fantastic," she replied, "But for one oversight. You see, all the animals are paired off. The ewe has a ram and the cow has her bull. All the anim als have a mate except me. I feel so alone." God thought for a moment and said, "You know, Eve, you are right. How could I have overlooked this? You do need a mate and I will immediately create a man from a part of you. Let's see....where did I put that useless boob?" Now doesn't THAT make more sense than all that crap about the rib?
  17. Thought I share some sunshine and beach, Florida style, on this Easter Day! Let me tell you how really good I have it: I have a RSTD! I have two daughters that know, and love, GOD! I have a girlfriend who is not only fun to look at but OH! can she cook! I live in Paradise! But most importantly I know, emphatically, that God loves me! Happy Easter, Everyone!
  18. jokes and humor section, but thought you might enjoy this as much as I did!! Why Men Can Pee Standing Up God was just about done creating humans, but he had two parts left over. He couldn't decide how to split them between Adam and Eve so He thought He might just as well ask them. He told them one of the things He had left was a thing that would allow the owner to pee while standing up. "It's a very handy thing." God told them, " and I was wondering if either one of you had a preference for it." Well, Adam jumped up and down and begged, "Oh, please give that to me! I'd love to be able to do that! It seems like just the sort of thing a man should have. Please! Pleeease!! Give it to me!" On and on he went like an excited little boy. Eve just smiled and told God that if Adam really wanted it so badly, he could have it. So God gave Adam the thing that allowed him to pee standing up. Adam was so excited he just started whizzing all over the place-first on the side of a rock, then he wrote his name in the sand, and then he tried to see if he could hit a stump ten fee away-laughing with delight all the while. God and Eve watched him with amusement and then God sait to Eve, "Well, I guess you're kind of stuck with the last thing I have left." "What's it called?" asked Eve. "Brains." said God!
