  4. since the st. charles meet and eat was so much fun and successful the last three years. i have decided to make it a regular 3 day meet. there is something which we have missed in the last meets that people will enjoy. thursday the first day of the meet we will visit some of the neat stuff in historic downtown st. charles and those wanting to hit the casinos can do that. all this stuff is about 5 minutes from the motels. friday we will do our hannibal ride with a different scenic route, and dinner at a great pizza house. saturday will be the scenic ride to herman, mo. to visit the wineries and back to my house for the barbeque. as usual wed. night at my house for pie and coffee for early arrivals. the dates are 7th, 8th, and 9th, of may, 2009. i will post motels and more details when i get it all together. this overides my earlier post. hope to see a bunch there. bill

  9. This saturday we went to Fayetteville NC to visit Jeff's Aunt and Grandmother. They were staying down there with his cousin Dean. He's in the army. We had a great time and got to meet Dean's new girlfriend, and his new dog. We also got to see his new toy. After his last return from Iraq he went out and got himself a bike. He bought a Harley. We told him we loved him anyway. Anyway I took a couple of pics of his new toy. So if your down in the area and you see a guy on this bike you'll know who he is. He has to go back to Iraq in June. I'm hoping to get him and his girlfriend to come to our annual year end/beginning meet on Jan 3rd. Here's the pics of his bike. Plus I threw in a pic of Jeff, Trisha, Dean and the dog (Shannon) and a pic of Jeff with his grandmother.
  10. Thinking about a Pa meet in Oct either the 18th or 25th, We would be meeting in Berks County at a rest. to be announced later. Anybody interested?? Thanks Craig:fingers-crossed-emo
  11. I just wanted to put this up incase anyone wanted to tag along. Lonna and I will be leaving my work in Pontiac at 11am on Friday morning. We will do a HARD 500 mile ride and make it down to Bowling Green KY. to spend the night. We will then leave there early Saturday Morning where we will catch up with Ebat somewhere around Nashville TN. and head towards Memphis and the meet up with Lewis and the crew at the Flying J. Unbfortunately this wont be as relaxing as I would like it to be and will be all super slab to make time. If anyone wants to hook up along the way give me a shout and we'll see what we can make of it....I'm pretty excited about getting there
  12. since all the members are going have input on our meet this year i am going to keep you informed every so often on whats happening on our planning committee. we have had a lull in the planning due to some personal mishaps and bringing a busy riding season to an end. after the st. jude ride we are going to start kicking butt again and cindy who is incharge of registration along with black owl will be getting the registration fee together and start taking registrations. since this is going to be a very big meet. we need all you folks to plan ahead so we can figure attendence numbers for the t-shirt orders and planning for the final dinner. the 60 rooms at the hub are full and we are starting to fill motels in nearby harrison. here's what we have so far. we are going to have maps available so groups can get together and plan individual rides. there will be to many bikes for planned rides for the whole group. we are going to have a catered final dinner in the awesome hall that we have available. we are going to have vendors on site inside the airconditioned hall. danob11 is incharge of the vendors . blackowl has suggested having skilled riding games so we will be working on that. rose bud is working on name pins for all the people who register, that are really neat so we know everyones name. don freebird has come up with an awesome logo for your t-shirts, and name pins that you will get with your registration. buddy is handling the motel accomodations and has a list of them on the site. roadkill is working on the raffles and i think we are going to raffle off a trailer again. colesgrandpa is working on the rides and ride maps. dooder1 and i are bringing up the rear and working on the food and all the junk that no one else is working on. members of the committee have been to the hub and they are working with us to make this one great meet. we have a great group working on this and i can't thank them enough. squidly and don freebird are on board to keep me out of trouble and make sure we don't forget anything. we have a few neat things in the works that i will let out down the road if they work out. anyone who has any ideas to make this meet any better. email me and we will take them into consideration. like i said this is your meet and we want it to be the best and most enjoyable ever. bill
  13. We've decided where to go on our annual anniversary trip. We're heading to Mackinaw City, MI. We should be there from Monday Sept 29th to Friday October 3rd. So far we've planned to go and not much else. We're going to stay in Mackinaw City and take day trips to various places and sights in Northern MI. I know we plan to see Sleeping Bear Dunes. I haven't been there since I was a kid and my wife has never been there. I know we'll also be stopping in Petoskey, MI. My mother used to spend summers up there as a kid and I kinda want to see the place. Other than that we have no plans. October 2nd is our anniversary so that day I suppose I should find something special to do. We are both water rats. We love being on the water so if there are tour boats in the area, I'm sure we'll be on one. I kinda want to run down the Lake Huron lake front a bit. Huron is the only lake of the Great Lakes that I have not been on and I've only see it once back in 1998. Also, if anyone is in the area then we'd like to meet ya one afternoon. A meet and eat for sure. So, what's in the Northern Michigan area that is a must see or must do? Cheers and Michigan here we come!
  14. What can I say. Linda and I road down on Saturday (great day to be out) and had aterrific time at the museum. They have done a fantastic job of restoring the old bikes. Are the ever cool. If you like motorcycles, and who here doesn't, you owe it to yourself to go. Would make for a great meet and eat. You can trace the eveolution of mc's back to the begining, and work you way up. HD made some very interesting stuff that you would not think would be made by them. I will try to post some pictures.
  15. Come on folks, we need some more riders for the Ride to meet in Memphis for the St. Jude trip. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=26475 http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=26753 :stirthepot::stirthepot:
  16. Well the first Pa meet n eat was a hit. I think we had 18 bikes total, got to meet alot of new folks and spend some time with old friends. It was perfect from start to finish lots of time to BS at the meeting place, the weather was amazing, nice ride to the diner, good food served up quick. Went for a nice 2 hr ride on some of the smoothest roads in Pa:rasberry: Stopped at a great little farm for homemade Ice cream, and witnesssed a beautiful outdoor wedding overlooking the Susq. river. Special thanks to Randy for all his work in putting this together, and thanks to all who came and supported this event. We will definetly do it again. Craig:clap2:

  20. Cecdoo and I are thinking of putting together a South Central PA Meet & Eat. The tentative plan is to meet at The Brown Cow on Route 74 in Collinsville, York Co. Have some good food and get to know everyone. Then, I plotted out a route from there, down to Conowingo, across the Susqueshanna and back up to Columbia which is about a 2 hour ride. Date is open but we are thinking a Saturday or Sunday in September. Anyone interested?
  21. i know it's early, but now that the eureka springs meet is behind us and i have a little rest from the initial set up of the 2009 international rally, i am starting to work on the best st. charles meet and eat of all times. the last three were awesome so i decided to make this one a regular 2 day meet with two great rides. one being to historic hannibal mo. and the other to herman, mo. to visit a neat little german town and the wineries. both are tremendous rides of about 200 mile round trip. it will be some time in may or early june. just want to let everyone know so you can keep the calender open. i try to schedule it so it does'nt interfere with dons maintenance day. i will have motels listed ,and for those that like to gamble like cindy and dale, they are near the river boats. last years meet and eat was awesome, and i had so much fun i thought i would try to double it. i am going to have a big barbeque for the grand finally at my house, same as last year. best part it is all free. looking forward to seeing a bunch of you folks. bill :clap2:
  22. Calling any riders in the N.E. Tx area interested in the Stampede.I think I will be camping.I dont think the wife will be making this one with me.Email back, maby a few of us could meet somewhere and ride down together.I would be able to leave Sat.Morning.Thanks.Mark.
  23. I meet a new RSV owner yesterday. He had bought a brand new 08 black chery/black a very pretty bike. we got to talking and i gave him a card for the site. he said he loved the bike but he didnt like the noise coming from the motor told him it might not be the engine but the chirp that we all had or have but then i got to thinking that read on here that Yamaha fixed that problem on the 07 or 08 was i right or not but any i told him to take it back and have them check it out any way. I am sure i will run into him and his very nice wife again seeing how they are only an hour away.
  24. Wife & I have a cabin rented in Hocking Hills for the weekend of Sept. 19 & 20. Wondered if anyone lives close. Won't have a lot of time, but maybe could get together for a meal and get to meet some members from this great group. Gil:banana:
  25. Well, I finally had some time to install mine today. Didn't take very long at all. The bracket from CarbonOne worked great and the directions were clear. It is very loud. With the hurricane passing through here today, I didn't get much ride time, but tomorrow I will be heading up to the PA/MD border to meet some friends. If I don't have an opportunity to use the horn along the way, I definitely will upon arrival at the meet location. Hopefully I blow them out of their boots. Ride safe, TTW
