  1. Our VR weekend in Central KY is finally here and we've gotten off to a very good start. After the out of town folks arrived a relaxed a bit we met for dinner at a local BBQ spot and I believe everyone was well fed. It was nice to meet some new VR members, Bill & Marilyn, Joe & Donna, Kevin & Sue, Lynn & Janice, John & Teresa, Bob & Tina, and Dan. Now I won't take credit for remembering all of those names. That credit goes to my wife Valerie. Tomorrw we plan to meet around 8:30 for breakfast at the Cracker Barrel at I-75 exit 110 followed by a 125 mile ride through central KY. Everyone is welcome to join us. We should leave the Cracker Barrel around 9:30. I've attached a few photos from dinner tonight. More to follow tomorrow. It's going to be a great weekend. Dennis

  4. Just posted my photos of the nw Georgia Meet and Eat of 0509. What a great time we had. Check 'em out. Rode up with some great friends and made new ones. If you're not doing the meet and eats, you owe it to yourself to get out there. photo album: WandererNWGMeet20090509
  5. just an up date on the rally and a plea to get registered. getting ready to get in to high gear and finalize all the rally events. a bunch of us are going to meet at the hub memorial day weekend for brunch or lunch and you are all welcome to join us. we should be there around 11 am on sat. the 23rd of may. it will be a fun ride and you can check out the site for the 09 rally. we need all that are planning to attend the rally, to register as soon as possible, so cindy can order the t- shirts, and make the name buttons. i also need to tell randall how many will be attending so he can figure food for the catered last meal and breakfast and dinner throughout the week. the last meal which will be fried chicken and prime rib is included in the registration. the rest is on you. there will also be a childrens menu. i have a great committee that is working hard to make this a successful meet. if your not sure if your comming thats fine. if you are sure help us out and get registered as soon as possible. thanks. bill

  8. well, what a crowd showed up for the meet last night. we met at the crackerbarrel at 7pm and took a short ride to my house, for coffee and cake. alot of old freinds are here, and met a bunch of new members. all in all, as usual, a great bunch of people. as tired as i was, i had a ball. wrongway and lowell came yesterday afternoon and we sat on the patio and drank a few beers and did some reminising, when i should have been catching up on some sleep. well i'm ready to hit it again for the big ride today. we meet again at 8am. got to go clean the bike up a little before i leave. kbran had a spill in some gravel on the trip here and hurt his ankle. he stayed in the room last night with an ice pack on it, i hope he is okay. i will check on him this morning. bill ps. i heard a little bit of gossip last night. wrongway just may have lived up to his name again and missed my street with the group he was leading. i saw them go by, don't want to make any false accusations. i will get to the bottom of it today. :rotf::rotfl:

  11. I will be able to do Maint day,The Skid in and Ashville but as of right this moment I will be leaving for Iraq on the 15th of July. Sledgehammer has agreed to let me store 3 of the bikes in his barn and ADC is going to come by the house and ride the SS bike for me.Mini may or may not be good on the web site. I am going to say I am sorry for all the pot stirring she is going to do while I am gone for the year. I will miss everyone while I am gone but ya gotta do what you gotta do so I am going over to work on as they are saying at the moment H60s for the Army and Airforce. I will check in as often as possible while I am over in the sand box. I will have Mini keep everone informed of my status while I am away and I am sure that she will set up a meet and eat for when I get home. Dont worry she will still make it to some of the meet and eats while I am gone she already started making arangments to get some riding in with a few of our members. Jeff

  13. just wanted to remind you all that are attending my meet next month, that ameristar casino is about a half mile from the host motel and harrahs is about 2 miles. so if you get restless and like to gamble they will accomodate you. last time cinderella and dale were here, dale won $600.00. hear that b2dad? we also have historic main street close to the motels. and as an added extra you will get to meet allanh ( wrongway). just don't follow him down any dead end streets. :rotf:
  14. looks like we are going to have a big turn out for my annual st. charles meet. i'ts going to be the biggest one yet. looking forward to seeing everyone. been shopping the last three weeks for food, no one will leave missouri hungry. i can't wait, and have put an order in for good weather. we have lucked out the last 2 years on the weather and i have 2 fantastic rides planned. see yopu folks there. bill
  15. I had posted this under the Meet & eat thread but only Ceedo read it. So here it is a gain. We had a great time at the 1st PA Meet & Eat and what a fantastic turn out. It was really good to meet everyone. A special thanks goes out on behalf of my wife and myself to the the VA/NC and SC guys. I got a front flat at 65 mph a little past the exit for route 15 south at Frederick MD, and man that was scarey! The Muffinman had a portable pump with him and they got the tire pumped up enough so I could hobble to the Sheetz in Leesburg Va. Got a can of tire fixit and pumped it back the rest of the way. Seems I had a slow valvestem leak and the tire just blew. They all made sure we made it home safely. THANKS AGAIN guys for all your help! The Muffinman said the nicest thing out on the side of the road, "We never leave anyone behind" What a great bunch of folks. Kim & Karen Woodworth
  16. wanted to thank raymond and his brother for coming up to the arkansas cushman meet yesterday. you two made my day. and i really mean that. hope to see your brother at my meet in may. bill
  17. Got to meet my 1st VR member today. I rode over to B2Dads' house. He only lives about 20 miles from me, and it turned out we have met before...I used to work on their cars years ago. We admired each others' bikes. I got to meet the wife and the dog, and we just shot the bull for a few hours. Really nice people they are. I look forward to meeting many more of you!
  18. well i mapped out the rides for the st. charles meet in may and they are going to be awesome. i road the friday ride to hannibal last saturday, it is 238 mile and covers some beautiful country in illinois and missouri. the friday ride to herman mo. will pass many historic sights and more beautiful country and lots of twisties. it will be 147 miles. i garantee these will be really nice rides. i want to really do it up right this year cuz it will probably be my last meet here. so i hope to see lots of people. this will be a meet to remember. sure wish i could get lewis, eck, and some of the georgia people up here to repay them for their great hospitality.
  19. just, wanting to let anyone that has nothing to do may 7th, 8th, and 9th. to check out the st. charles meet under meet and eats on the sticky at the top.. i'm starting to buy the food and want to get an estimate on who plans to attend. so far it looks like a great turn out. for those that haven't checked in on the meet and eat thread, let me know. i hate to run out of beer, soda, and food. motels and details are all there. hope to see you there. bill
  20. got a call yesterday that they want to meet with us finally. Up until now it has been solely contact with our victims advocate. The ada in charge of our case went on maternity leave so another ada has took over and he wanted to meet with us. Wants to go over the strong and weak points to our case and find out where we stand on an offer to the perp to keep from going to trial and having to put haylie thru that. This is a hard one, how much would you be willing to give? Im really torn on this. His prison time should be as devastating to him as his act was upon her and us. I feel the need for him to still be locked away when the day comes that she understands and starts to have to deal with what happened to her. Ive been doing a lot of reading and some talking with with other vicitims ( from some forums)and the impact its had on them as they aged and had to come to terms with it all. Its not a pretty outcome many times. They also said we may have to delay trial because of the dna retest not being back in time. This upsets me also...i want it over. Being that the trial is scheduled for June 1st.......we had planned to deal with it all and then head to ohio for much needed relaxing, unwinding and enjoy MD for the rest of the week. Motions are all due by next friday so we will be at a hearing that day at 5...and there is the motion hearing itself scheduled for the next fri at 9 I'll update you all after we meet today..have a 4:00 appt with him.
  21. as soon as i get my st. charles meet behind me . i'm going to be calling all the rally committee members back to work. i am going to ride from st. charles down to the hub to tie up the loose ends and plan the final meal with them, on a saturday in the near future. any one that wants to fall in with me or meet at the hub is welcome. i will post a date soon. you can try out the great breakfast menu they have. again please register as soon as you can if you plan on attending the 09 rally. bill
  22. It is getting close, still looking for folks from this site that are planning on going. We will be staying in Colonial Country Club on 44 between Wildwood and Leesberg may-be can meet and ride together. We will be down on thursday the 23rd until the 26th. 23. looks like a big turnout for the st. charles, mo. rally, may 7th thru 9th. still got plenty of room. looks like this is going to be the biggest ever. i have a great one planned this year. we have people coming from all over the usa, and maybe gary n from canada, who was here last year. for all of you who want to kick off the riding season with a bang , don't miss this one. check it out in the sticky under meet and eats. all the motels and details are there. looking forward to seeing alot of old friends and new faces. bill
  24. going to make this short cuz i smell dinner. first check out the sticky under meet and eats for the st. charles meet and eat. we would love to have you all there, and register for the 09 rally as soon as you can. to help us with the planning. thanks bill
  25. Since I have never been to a M. D. event, I was wondering how things get paid for. I am assuming that Don does not cover the cost of food for everyone. So how does it work? Do we pitch in a certain amount of cash? Do we bring something? Do we eat out? You get the idea, how does it work? I am looking forward to being there this year to meet all of you and hopefully share some fun experiances that will be talked about for years to come. Big Mike:15_8_211[1]:
