    Rear Shock

Steve. I'm interested in the shockie you ordered from Flatout. I've been contemplating a (superior) after-market unit that costs around $AU870, but for that sort of money I believe the 2005 OEM version as cited by you would be more than satisfactory. Would you be so kind as to give me the part number so I can order one from Flatout? I can't find it amongst my stuff. It was posted on this site once upon a time, but I can't remember where (or when). I might send out a request for same in case I don't hear from you. Cheers, Steve

    Rear Shock

Hey Steve, Do everybody a BIG favour, and tell Yamahahahah Australia about it. When I complained about my shock crapping itself, they said they never heard of it happening in Australia. Huh! I'm still organising my new unit from the States, but meanwhile I'm still riding without oil. Just relying on the inner spring and a bit more air. Can I ask what you paid for your new unit -$AU / $US? Is it a genuine Yammie shock or an after-market? Cheers, Steve
  8. I stayed in a motel room once with 'clean linen', and found a bloodied (moist) band aid - apparently off a toe - between the sheets at the foot of the bed. Didn't I raise merry hell with the management. Made them pay for alternate accommodation at a 4 star across the road - or I was gonna sue BIG time.
  9. Any chance you could 'sinus' up for one of them? :rotf:
  10. I found this information on the speedos of bikes and whether or not they conform to the Australian Design Rules. From what I can see an 8% variation is all that is tolerated. Obviously the RSVs tested vary more than that. Boy - the small things that amuse small minds. (Hope it links okay - for those interested.) rvcs-prodweb.dot.gov.au/files/ADR%201803.pdf
  11. I'm hearing some bull about the fact that it's 8% out (reading high - hello - how safe does that make you) that it's outside of tolerances. I sent Yamahahahah Australia a query email re the non-supply of the Venture after 2007 and I was told, and I quote: Dear Steve, The XVZ1300TF is no longer available for the Australian market. Regards, Sue Cleary Customer Relations Department Yamaha Motor Australia So I sent another one back asking why. I can keep this up as long as they can.
  12. I tend to agree on the new model front. I reckon I'll give 'em until 2010 and they'll shock us all with a lighter, fuel injected model. Yamahaha I don't think will want to stand still on this one. It's a lucrative sector of the market and it'll wanna be there.
  13. Hey guys. Here is a cut and paste of a posting on another (Australian) motorcycle web site. An ADR is an Australian Design Rule. Yamaha XVZ1300TF Venture Discontinued in Aus For all those Venture owners out there, I have been told, and it has been confirmed by Yamaha that the Venture model will not be coming to Aus after 2007. The reason given - The speedo will no longer comply with the new 2008 ADR's and Yamaha is not willing to spend the money to upgrade it. It will still be sold everywhere else (especially in the US) - just not here. So if any one feels like I do about this, contact Yamaha and complain - like I have. If you want, please contact me to let me know your feelings. How'd you like to live down under and wanna upgrade?
  14. 10-4. Copy that. Roger Climpson - over and out!
  15. Damn - wrong China. The yellow China is just a few hours flight north of here. No - hang on a minute - the land bridge between China and Australia disappeared about 30,000 years ago. That means I can't fly up there and ride it home. Better see if I can cancel my payment! :rotf:
  16. Do you know the difference between carbon monoxide and methane? :rotf::rotf:
  17. I have a Blonde nearly every night - in fact they're Pure Blondes - and - my wife even lets me do this! Intrigued? Get onto this! | | | \/ [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ml3ybCxxMRk]www.youtube.com/watch?v=ml3ybCxxMRk[/ame]
  18. Ah - gotcha! Thanks squidley. So it's not a matter of Canadians not being allowed to bid, it's more a matter of the seller being able to specify to whom he or she will or will not sell! Rather discriminatory don't you think, especially when the buyer is supposed to pay in $US as well as pay freight. What does the seller have to lose (apart from a certain sale)?
  19. Do I read that right - 11 years old?
  20. I wear Johnny Reb biker boots, made by the Thomas Cook Clothing Company here in Oz. Awesome boots. Paid $230 for them and worth every red cent. Don't know if they're available in the USA. But - and responding to an earlier post in this thread - I love the fact that the $US is weakening internationally. My Au$$ie $ is buying 90 US cents. Best it's been for many years. Certainly makes buying my new Works rear shock very exciting.:)
  21. Huh? I'm sorry - but it might just be Southern Hemisphere ignorance - but why CAN'T Canadians bid on US eBay stuff?:confused24:
  22. I got 2 brothers who ride Hardly Davidsons. They get off them and onto my 2nd Gen, and invariably say, "Gee, it's smooth!" 'nuf said!
  23. What a waste of e-space. Hilton would have to be one of the most self-indulgent, pretentious, over-rated, ugliest 'women' that ever graced all the glitsy places that women like her frequent. If she didn't have her daddy's million$ to splash around she'd be nothing but a commoner - like the rest (most) of us. Take away her money and nobody would give a sh1t about her! 45 days shoulda been 45 years!
  24. What is it with Americans and guns? What did that deer do to upset you so much you wanted to kill it?
