It is not the caffeine, but the theobromine,, which is found in chocolate, tea, cola beverages, acai berries, and some other foods. Cacao beans contain about 1.2% theobromine by weight, while processed chocolate generally has smaller amounts

Actually Vista comes 32bit or 64bit,, and while there are not many programs that take advantage of the 64bit software, the bottom line is there is no disadvantage to having the 64bit as it doesn't cost any more. Go 64.

We have actually bought two reconditioned e-machines from Tiger direct over the years. The current one still works fine and is several years old, the first one was fine for 3 years until it was left on during a lighting storm, Pfffft! But my son just bought a new computer from Ibuypower.. the link I put in my previous post.. it was much more machine for the money and has a three year warranty.

I use to live in the upper peninsula of Michigan. The UP, Northern Wisconsin, and lakes area of Ontario Canada are all absolutely beautiful in July and August. Late May, and June some years can have so many bugs that it is actually dangerous to be on a bike, and any of the other eight months can have serious snow.

Geez, 7 2500x2000 pixel pictures???? Good thing I'm at work with a DS3 to the internet, but I think my computer overheated. Anyway,, I love the looks of the Vmax, just not comfortable enough for me, let alone my wife.

do not use WD-40, it is not actually a lube, it is designed to displace water, it will actually dry out and make things worse. If you don't have access to actual cable lube, light oil, like 3 in 1 or sewing machine oil will work. But get real lube,,, Cycle Gear 5000 Cutler Ave, NE Albuquerque, NM 87110 open sunday 10-5

I'd say, if you can start just a little earlier, head straight West through the Canaan Valley, over to Mid-Ohio race course, and the AMA vintage day racing July 24-26, If not, Mid-Ohio has the Acura 200 sports car challenge Aug 7-9,, from there head toward South Haven MI, and up the West coast of MI, over the Mackinac Bridge, up to the Sue, over into Canada and follow the North shoreline of Lake Huron and the Georgian Bay, down to Toronto, East over to Cornwall, back into the US, down through the Adirondacks, then West to Niagra Falls, and pretty much South through PA back to Manassas.. Depending on just what routes you take it ends up being from 2500mi to 3000mi

I actually would not be surprised if they doubled the run on 09s and just kept releasing them through 2010 and maybe even 2011. That would get them out of having to upgrade to FI on the Venture in 2010.

Article about motorcycle fatality in Wayne county Ohio.
hig4s replied to MiCarl's topic in Watering Hole
I can see the point that the alcohol level is not necessarily prudent. I've seen too many cases where someone had been drinking, but did not do anything wrong, have to take the full blame because they were over the limit. But seeing as it was a two lane road, one might reasonably expect the vehicle behind someone turning left would not pass them before they turned. That is not necessarily proper though but reasonable and should be considered. But there are things we don't know. Does the SUV driver have a bad driving record with lots of accidents? Was it light or dark out? Did the SUV have its turn signal on? Was the turning motorcycle stopped. And how does the reporter know this guy wouldn't have gone around the other motorcycle even if he wasn't drinking? I KNOW, at .228 it is hard to believe he wasn't at least partially to blame. Bottom line to me is the family has looked at it and believes it was an accident, nobody's fault. They should charge him with careless driving and be done with it. -
I have been looking for that proof, but not old proof.. From what I understand when Castrol won the suit and was allowed to call their hydrocracked synthetic a full synthetic, Mobil, to save costs, started doing the same thing. I know in the last two years I have e-mailed Mobil and asked them if they are still a true synthetic using PAOs, or if they now also use hydrocracked bases. They refused to answer saying their formula was propriatary and do to security reasons they could not answer.. funny, when they were suing Castrol they made a big fuss and told everyone they used PAOs only. As far as I know, Amsoil is the only true PAO only synthetic major brand left. That being said, the better made hydrocracked synthetics like Castrol and Mobil 1 are virtually as good as Amsoil. Even in the testing sponsored by Amsoil where Amsoil always show up superior, Mobil 1 and Castrol Syntec, usually come in a fairly close 2nd and 3rd. Personally, from what I have seen major brand dino oil has gotten so much better in the last 10 to 15 years, if I didn't do extended oil changes on my vehicles I wouldn't bother with synth anymore. I always do double the recommended interval on my cars and 1.5 times the interval on my bikes with either Mobil 1 or Syntec.

Recovering a seat.........geesh!
hig4s replied to Snaggletooth's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I'm not very good, but my father and grand mother were in the upholstery business and I worked in my dad's shop when I was young. So I have done my own saddles on several occasions. But I found Rick Mayer, http://www.rickmayercycle.com/ and had him do my last bike. He is slow, but does very good quality work, and uses very good materials. For the cost it was not worth my time to buy the materials and do it myself. If I ever need another seat done I would not hesitate to use Rick again. His seats are true custom, you really have to call and talk to him to get a correct quote. But he is showing a winter time special price on the website right now. -
Have you rode a BMW LT,, the older ones a lot of people complained they seemed too big, so the newer ones, 06 or 07 and up, have lower seats. I'm sure you can still get the taller seat, and they have some very nice fold out hwy pegs for them.. Have you sat on the Harley, it is a full 4 inches shorter than the Venture, it has the same wheelbase as a Yamaha V-star 650. There is also the new Kawasaki Vulcan Voyager it has ABS. I don't think the Victory Vision has ABS. And the final thought, the EPA standards change for 2010 and Yamaha will either have to change the Venture or drop it. You could wait to see if they update it significantly.

I switched to Avon Venoms and switched from the 150/80-16 to an MT90B16. Effectively a 130/90-16 same height and a little narrower, bike handles much lighter and with the Avons, the it has a higher load rating than the stock size.

I used Mobil 1 car oil in all my bikes for many years no problem.. BUT!!!!! you have to check the API circle on the back of the container and make sure it does NOT say "Energy Conserving" (which most do) as it is the additives in energy conserving auto oils that can cause problems with motorcycle wet clutches. here is some info http://www.nightrider.com/biketech/oiltest1.htm

Any problems with luggage racks?
hig4s replied to Murphster's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
+1 the recommended limit is 10lbs, but we have done two long trips with 30lb+ (just try to get my wife to pack only 10lbs of stuff) twice not a problem. -
We are DVC (Disney Vacation Club) members for many, many years. We have traded our vacation points for cruises three times and plan on doing it again this summer. We love the Disney cruise line. The ships are great for families, and adults to as there are several 18 and over sections as well as an 18 and over pool and a fourth 18 and over restaurant (Palo's) which you can upgrade to for $10 a person. The Filit Migion there was the best steak of any kind I ever had anywhere ever!!!!!!!! They have tons of off ship excursions (for an extra price of course) when ever the boat is docked. And their private island is treated like it is part of the ship so lunch the day you are on the island is complimentary. Sodas are not free, except one with the meals, but you can buy a souviner cup for $15 (at least that was the price a few years ago) that you can refill unlimited for the whole cruise. But there is always milk, coffee, and tea available free at the refreshment station up on deck. If you haven't already you should spend a few hours perusing the Disney Cruise web site.. enjoy

I've tried to watch is a couple times, but just can't get into it, not sure what it is. I use to like "Epic Ride" and really liked the entire series of both "Long Way Round" and "Long Way Down".
